I AM that guy that play with ruffians!
I think you are missing out some points about the ruffians at tournaments.
1. You can also take another "big" hero harry Goatleaf and his lantern which can not make move an enemy foot mansize model.
2.axes, lots of axes! And having that strength 4 where is needed.
3.hobbits are cheaper (1point) and let you bring more bows and tgey can throw rocks.
4.you can shoot in combat and negate enemy big boys to do alot of damage.
The army is very bad but winning is so rewarding!
Ive recently won against iron hills and bears and it was so good!
There are a lot of different company or 3d printed making ruffians kind of models therefore it gets cheaper!
Don't think Harry Goatleaf is in the LL though is he, his profile was made after Scouring of the Shire came out?
