Thanks for the video. I live in Canada and have been following the fires. But lately I have seen nothing on our news. Nice to see Someone updating the rest of the world
Thanks for the great updates fellas!! We burned pretty bad in the Wyoming bighorn mountains but we don't exist to the news. I pray for anyone that has been impacted by fires.
@@herculesinwyoming that’s sad to hear. Wyoming is beautiful! My city was one of the first to have these damaging fires that have been occurring for almost three months. Ours was in November. Once the homes were ash the news reporters left and you don’t hear about us anymore. Altadena will be the same probably, but the palisades will continue to be in the news because of the fascination everyone has with celebrities.
We had fires this summer. At least 5 around our town, but we had water in the lake and equipment and great wild fire people. Even friends in the valley suffering from smoke had to look on the fire map of Idaho to find where we were!
My cousin works for the forestry department managing fire fighters on these fires around the PNW. He says the we have gotten really good at fighting fires, and because of that the fires get worse. Land management is KEY when it comes to these major fires. The amount of timber lost here in Oregon from the fires about 5 years ago was insane. The state was sued and kept from salvage logging. The land doesn't grow the trees back as well as it being logged/managed and replanted. We need more management of the resources, or we what it burn!
The financial toll of these wildfires is devastating. It’s not just about the insured losses many people don’t have the right coverage, or worse, any insurance at all. Even for those who do, it can take months or years to rebuild. Meanwhile, they still have mortgages, expenses, and nowhere to live.
Yeah, and it’s not just homeowners. Small businesses are getting wiped out too. Even if their buildings survive, the loss of customers, supply chain disruptions, and power outages can be enough to put them out of business. Some of them don’t have the cash flow to survive a disaster like this.
That’s exactly what happened to my cousin. Her house was completely destroyed in a fire a few years ago, and the insurance money barely covered the rebuild costs after all the delays and price increases for materials. She was forced to dip into her savings just to get by.
Yep, and unfortunately, wildfires are only getting worse. If people live in high-risk areas, they need to think ahead and have a financial plan in place before disaster strikes.
I learned that lesson the hard way. After the last wildfire season, I had to move because my rental was destroyed, and I wasn’t financially prepared for it.
I remember my cousin had no idea how to manage the situation financially until she got help from Donna Lynn Herme. She helped her figure out how to structure her insurance payout and loans so she wouldn’t burn through all her savings.
I live here in LA County about 20 miles away from the fires. The Los Angeles Times reported that the Santa Ynez Reservoir has been empty since February 2024. It was supposed to hold 117 million gallons of water but since the reservoir was empty, the fire department used water from three smaller reservoirs, holding only 1 million gallons each, until they went dry. The reservoir was taken offline to repair a tear on the cover which helps prevent evaporation. Sadly, it appears that no steps were taken to start the repair or fill the reservoir despite the fact that the dry winter was known to be approaching and high winds were predicted.
Thanks guys for taking us to some of the devastations and we hope people's lives can get better in the future. My Son-in-Law is a fireman in LA and was there helping in both fires!!
Hey guys, Nebraska flat lander here. I really enjoy your work and content. Your feelings for the lands around you and your, along with the fun videos you make,, just show your good people and doing life and family right! Peace❤😊, stay safe.
I was wondering how your friends and family were doing that live in Southern California. Thank you for doing your best to show the damage in the areas you made it to. Take care. ❤
Its a Bittersweet video. Nice to see you guys out here but sad to see how many lives were affected by the fires. Excellent editing on the end of the video 😞🙏🇺🇲
Ventura Pier, my childhood fishing with my Dad. We also fished on the Jetty’s. I was 3 years old the first time. That was 1964. There were (to me) huge gaps when walking on the pier and I could see 30 feet below to the waves. Massive fear, so, I preferred crawling over all the rocks on the Jetty’s!
Another great video. I did not realize how mountainous and rugged the terrain is. And all the brush. It is no wonder it burned the way it did. Thanks for the video.
Hey brother’s 🙏❤️ As a X California native it’s always so heartbreaking to see the damage these fires do , the scars on the landscape slowly fade away but a fire of this magnitude will last for the rest of these poor peoples lives 😔 Blessings gentlemen and blessings to everyone affected by this tragedy 🙏🕊️🌹🇺🇸
Good footage SCO….. we never know what tomorrow brings so always count your blessings today thank you and prayers to those that have been affected. 🇺🇸United We Stand 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼
You guys drove through my area in the beginning. We were highly affected by the mountain fire in November. People are still in hotels waiting for their houses to be cleaned or because they don’t have a home. Thanks for bringing some attention to this after the dramatic flair has gone and the news media has deserted us.
Also if you’re still here you should have your friend take you up into the las Posas hills, Camarillo heights Spanish hills and somis in VC. Those burn areas are completely accessible now and there’s around 300 houses that are gone and most have not been removed.
@@nsns4009 I said cleaned. I’m not sure what your comment means. All these people have to wait for the approval of their insurance companies to initiate either cleaning their homes if it was spared or getting rid of the rubble and rebuilding. It’s a very long process. I have been involved with my friend’s house. They were evacuated for more than two months. They are very blessed that only their yard is damaged. It took a month for the cleaning process to begin and their yards are still the same as when the firefighters left. There’s still some people that just now started getting their homes cleaned. The fire was November 6th and people are still living in hotels or with friends/family. It takes special chemicals to clean a house from smoke damage, so you can’t live at home during the process. Besides the fact that they make you replace your mattresses and take all of your belongings that are made of fabric to an industrial laundry site, which you don’t get back for months.
I wrote cleaned not cleared. I have no clue what your comment means at all. I am involved because I was here and evacuated while the fire was a street away at houses that back up into the wilderness. It was my friend’s house and I have been helping them with whatever they need ever since. I pass by 5 homes that are completely burned out pretty much every day and many in the neighborhood are still not back in their homes because their homes are still getting cleaned from smoke damage. There’s a lot of fire damage in every yard as well that’s still there and at times the outside still smells smoky depending on the weather. It’s been almost 3 months and my friends just got back into their home. Others are still not home and obviously the ones that lost everything won’t be back until probably 5 years from now because that’s how long it took Ventura to rebuild from the Thomas fire and we’re not getting any special treatment from the government like the palisades. Thankfully we didn’t lose any physical businesses churches or schools, but we came very close to it. I really feel for those who lost their communities and not just their homes, but if paradise can rebuild then they will too. They just got to hang on, which is so very hard.
With 60 mph winds there is no firebreak big enough to stop fires like this. The only regulation that the people rebuilding should have is that they rebuild with fire resistance products with government subsidies to do so. I have a life long friend who's son works for Cal Fire and was in charge of helicopter activity in one of the fire zones. Back in the 1970's San Diego had our own Laguna fire and then again in 2006 & 2008. Our hearts go out to Los Angeles our hated neighbor to the north. I've got a lot of family in LA and fortunately they were able to avoid the destruction.
you are so wrong. this was completely preventable.... CLEAR THE BRUSH REGULARLY, KEEP THE RESERVOIR FILLED, KEEP THE FIRE ENGINS IN SERVICE do not make excuses
@MsQ275 how do you purpose keeping the reservoirs full? And you are right, the state and federal government needs to invest more to maintain. You are talking about a lot of money that our government doesn't feel is needed. That somehow the state is responsible for state and federal land is like over taxation without representation. Power companies need to bury the power lines too. But I don't see how you resolve the water issue without heavy restrictions on everyone. It's up to the tax payers as to whether they are willing to pay the taxes needed to pay the workforce that California alone would need to police our forests. It's not excuses it's more a reality of once again government reducing fonds for decades with the 'it'll never happen here' theory. And your childish yelling seems a bit overdramatic, princess. TaTa
This is the comment I came to read. Blaming the fire victims because they didn't have a fire break??!! What in the ignoramus MAGA - spouting BS is that? Next thing you know, they'll blame environmental agencies and say they should have "groomed the trees" 😂
Omg guys this was the best of the best of your video that ive followed. Soooo entertaining love love it. Ill watch again cuz was great. That kid was so cute. Thanks for showing the damage fires did. Holy cow, Amazing video (I Really think this area should Install individual water spraying systems onto the perimeter of the individual houses) Also I highly recommend watching the 2 videos uploaded on the "What is going on with shipping?" Homes are so expensive, Yet our country has NO SYSTEM if people lose their homes. Two things can be true at the same time: 1-Yes It was a devastating weather event. As well as: 2 -Yes The city did UTTERLY FAIL to prepare their systems. Fire is the #1 threat so It makes no sense how Los Angeles didn't utilize their resources in a better way to prepare them to deal with fires.. The city has to prepare for stuff like this. I Hope we will see them build extensive water pumping systems from the ocean. They should Install water spraying systems onto the individual houses. They could install remote controlled valves so they could control the water pressure. They need to build systems that redirect & collect any rain water that they receive, rather than dumping it back out into the ocean. We need to adapt our systems so they work cohesively with our ecosystem. We should build Desalination plants & We definitely should bring the Beaver's back. Honestly, how are people supposed to recover from a Disaster such as this? We are seeing insurance companies fail us, we are seeing our government fail us. Most people are struggling to afford basic living. Our country is completely unable to handle this kind of stuff. Our country is failing these people. How does our country expect people to rebuild a second house when affording the first house was already a life long achievement.. How can our country keep functioning like this? Our country is in complete denial about the impacts of these disasters. How will our systems continue to function? We have to adapt. We have to.
Thanks for covering the Fires in Malibu. I wish there was more coverage of the Moss Landing Lithium Fire and the Massive Toxic Airborne Event from that. Hydrogen Fluoride and Hydrofluoric Acid is now airborne and flying towards Las Vegas too now! Probably here in Albuquerque New Mexico already too. No Coverage!!!! 😢
I used to drive from the valley to Pepperdine every day for 3 years. Its shocking to see Malibu Canyon like that. There was a big one in late 1993, but nothing like this.

There's no way the Coastal commission is going to let a lot of those homes and businesses to be rebuilt. A farmer in Ojai told me a few months ago that he used to be a firefighter, and he wishes more people would plant orange groves in fire prone areas because orange trees don't burn.
Yes plant them right next to all the old growth highly flammable eucalyptus trees or next to the dehydrated and brown leaf hedges that also didn't burn that are everywhere!
I was evaluated from the culombia gorge fire that swept through Multnomah fall's. I also saw it start and witnessed the kid that tossed a firework into a valley being arrested. There is so much to learn from these wild fires!! I became infatuated. Stay safe and god speed!!
I was just in Las Vegas last week unfortunately I didn’t get to go to Lake Mead, but I thought about how cool it would be to see you guys if I was there
My thoughts and prayers to those affected by these devastating fires. Living down under our worst was back in 2019-2020 some 243,000 sq kms or 60 million Ha was taken out by fire. Stay safe now.
Goog to see you guys out here covering this with a local. Causation in my opinion is more power company than arson. I’ll bet the power companies won’t admit it but evidence will trickle in
Guys, that is some of the saddest things that I have ever seen. It was unbelievable, watching it when the fires were burning, I could not possibly understand how people I take that back how people would feel if this would happen . It just brings me to tears

Good coverage of the the fires. We have Lake Casitas and Cachuma lake and they are good bass fisheries in the 805! Try Specer MacKenzies next visit to Ventura. Best fish tacos!
I’ve been hooked on your videos here in NZ for a long time and I am heading to L.A. and Vegas in March for the first time. I’m heartbroken to see so much loss over there.
Love this video! I’ve been following these fires, so hard to believe! Oh, shout out to ATA. I trained with them in Oregon! Thank you for helping folks in Cali!
Love you guy’s Great job again. Please, please, please avoid the politics of all this or even mention of “things you have heard” it’s so easy to do. There are too many reasons everything happens, everywhere. Forget blame, let’s all take care of each other and have a great life.
Back in 87 I was in the Contra Costa County Conservation Corps which is like a subdivision of the California Conservation Corps. We spent every day up in the mountains cutting fire breaks by hand. I was there for the Tilden Park fire and the Oakland fire. Then I moved back to Salinas just in time for the Pebble Beach fire. There was a small fire in Aromas off the 101 in a Grove of eucalyptus trees. I kid you not when I say that those damn things explode. That's what told me I was in the wrong business.
Despite how awful the fires have been & those effected by them still a feel good episode looking at the positives especially the little man on the pier taking over your channel. Thank you for sharing 👍👍🙏🇬🇧
Y'all did a fantastic job showing the fire damage - Your pictures match up with your story ( I've watched so many videos and can;t figure out what the heck they are talking about! ) 1985 Isuzu - Those were the good ole days :)
Used to work in that area for Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP). You are correct with your statements about maintenance. Not nearly enough done. All non-native vegetation is highly flammable and should be eliminated. Doesn't take much effort.
Thanks for sharing.. I've been wondering, alot, lately, what is going on with the California Wildfires lately, since the major World News channels have given up on covering it, and they've all moved on to bigger and better stories. So they've all just moved on. Period.

Yes plant them right next to all the old growth highly flammable eucalyptus trees or next to the dehydrated and brown leaf hedges that also didn't burn that are everywhere!
SoCal used to all be orange groves back in the day. The area I grew up in had random orange trees that were remnant of the old orange groves.
I was evaluated from the culombia gorge fire that swept through Multnomah fall's. I also saw it start and witnessed the kid that tossed a firework into a valley being arrested.
There is so much to learn from these wild fires!! I became infatuated.
Stay safe and god speed!!
I was just in Las Vegas last week unfortunately I didn’t get to go to Lake Mead, but I thought about how cool it would be to see you guys if I was there
The music at the end brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for filming that.
My thoughts and prayers to those affected by these devastating fires. Living down under our worst was back in 2019-2020 some 243,000 sq kms or 60 million Ha was taken out by fire. Stay safe now.
was glad to see you out here hope you had good time
Goog to see you guys out here covering this with a local. Causation in my opinion is more power company than arson. I’ll bet the power companies won’t admit it but evidence will trickle in
Great to see you guys getting recognized so often
Guys, that is some of the saddest things that I have ever seen. It was unbelievable, watching it when the fires were burning, I could not possibly understand how people I take that back how people would feel if this would happen . It just brings me to tears
Be Aware, coming to a City near you!
Come spring those hillsides are gonna look beautiful.
Your channel is the only one I look forward to watching of any channel on UA-cam. Always enjoyable experience. Prayers to all those who are suffering the wild fires in California and the tornadoes in the Carolinas.
Excellent vlog guys , it really touched the heart strings . I felt really sorry for all those people ,heaven only knows what the must have gone through .
It's so darn horrendous what has happened to the LA area, I hope LA recovers, and things will return to normal once again.
I absolutely agree with Romeo bro’s get on a charter 😉, I never went out from North of Seal Beach being a old Orange County bird , but if you guys have the time Seal Beach or Newport Beach are good spots , used to roll us out to just off the coast of Catalina island the fishing was awesome, just a recommendation my pop and I had great times , miss him a lot 😢lost him 10 years ago.🙏🕊️🌹

Nothing like the pier at sunrise. The coffee club starting at 4:00 am.
Thats horrible mean wild fires. Keep up the good work thanks for sharing.
Good coverage of the the fires. We have Lake Casitas and Cachuma lake and they are good bass fisheries in the 805! Try Specer MacKenzies next visit to Ventura. Best fish tacos!
What a great video, we need more people like yourselves who really care. God Bless. Keep the videos coming ❤
Cool, you guys came to Ventura! My hometown! Glad Senior wasn't tore up again...lol
Fire breaks won't do shit with 60+ mph winds.
Ever generation of humans have and will rebuild their lives over the rubble of yesterday. "Thats Life"😮
the life of idiots ran by grifters
Thanks everyone. Well done.

I’ve been hooked on your videos here in NZ for a long time and I am heading to L.A. and Vegas in March for the first time. I’m heartbroken to see so much loss over there.

Wow just WOW. The ending was so powerful. ✌️❤️🙏🙏🙏
The closing was badass Jr.
Love you guy’s
Great job again.
Please, please, please avoid the politics of all this or even mention of “things you have heard” it’s so easy to do.
There are too many reasons everything happens, everywhere. Forget blame, let’s all take care of each other and have a great life.
Thank you for your time and video it was great
Thanks for showing us.
Thanks for showing us guys ,from the Midwest.
Despite how awful the fires have been & those effected by them still a feel good episode looking at the positives especially the little man on the pier taking over your channel. Thank you for sharing 👍👍🙏🇬🇧
There were wind gusts up to 100 mph where I live. After the Station fire they found bodies of the side of The Forest Highway.
Devastating. My prayers go out to all who have lost their homes, their jobs and their lives.
Y'all did a fantastic job showing the fire damage - Your pictures match up with your story ( I've watched so many videos and can;t figure out what the heck they are talking about! ) 1985 Isuzu - Those were the good ole days :)
GOD BLESS ALL THE PEOPLE OF CALIFORNIA. 🎉🎉🎉
Period.
Get out to one of those Channel Islands out there! Great show, like always! Go Sin City!
