Jake, tapping out was the right decision. Good call. Didn’t let ego take over! Congrats!
Exactly. It was the customers Jeep. When in doubt, tap out.
I really like how Matt let Jake make the decision. It won't mess with his confidence in a future situation.
needs to work on his listening ears, he was doing the opposite of the instructions a lot of the times.
A mans got to know his limitations
@@bobknull7502 that’s a huge factor. They are responsible for damage they cause that was avoidable.
I love the fact that Matt is constantly working to grow his employees and their job skills. He is a true teacher and a mentor. The world needs more men like him.
That is one of my favorite parts about this crew.
Matt's confidence in his crew is one of the best things about the channel.
Yeah so they can leave and start their own channels.
@@Jaredklingonsmith The world goes around man. Is that a reason to not invest your time? I've mentored dozens of rock climbers from having never touched rock to expert level. I got NOTHING from it but the value of the interaction and the joy of watching people grow. It doesn't matter where my apprentices ended up. I hope they took on apprentices of their own.
@@Jaredklingonsmithyeah, so you can make dumb comments.
I love Katelyn's energy and enthusiam for everything. She's an absolute treasure.
She is a lot better than she thinks she is. Matt is trusting her with more and more all the time
Her enthusiasm and skill are evident by her smile! She's come a long way!
Yep. Gotta have some tomboy eye candy to make shows like this roll. Lizzie was a tough act to follow and this lady is well on her way.
Respect to Jake for letting Matt take over. That's hard enough to do when you're not being recorded, and shows great responsibility here. Especially important in the customer's vehicle.
Agreed
It’s a testament to Jake’s character and personality! He reminds me of a great friend of mine! Love his joyous spirit!
I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. I love Jake’s attitude. He has a great sense of what he should and should not be doing. Much respect for that. Easily one of the best MORR employees. As the vehicle owner I would 100% respect that Jake choice for Matt to do that part. I don’t blame him. Keep up the hard work!
high score on the jeep. lol
A smart man knows his limits and stops before catastrophic things happen. Then watch and learn from those who do know so you know next time.
Watching Jake's progression has added a whole new level to what is already the best off road content on yt.
Big love to the whole MORR crew from across the pond
The endless confidence that Katelynn has is wonderful.......her driving skills are amazing....
Shes been taught well. She comes from an off roading/wheeling family
New rig that Katelynn helps design/build, with cutting breaks.
It'll be named the 'Katana'.
Let her design the Samurai build.
@@backwoodstherapy i wish they made the samurai into a little beast
@@Dorm_ it may still happen, eventually.
I think that is a fantastic idea. And I like the name too. Although it'll have to be PINK on Wednesdays🤣🤣🤣.
@@vinnieg.6746oh yes!
I remember that clip of Katelyn rolling an XJ and popping out of it with a big grin and saying" I hope someone got that on camera"!
Matt’s leadership skills are right up there with Ted Lasso! He puts people in position to learn and grow without shaming them when they are too uncomfortable. Ive been watching this channel since it had 50k subs and its still holding it’s original quality!
Disagree, I think the channel is better, Matt has grown as a person and a leader.
I think all the crew that have come, and gone off to do their own thing proves what Matt said about being about growth. This channel is the most wholesome thing about my day
Sometimes investing in people is the most rewarding thing you can do, regardless of financial gains. Watching people grow is fun!
Well done Jake for acknowledging your limits with grace
Mature decisions like that benefit the team
@@imagseernot to mention his own safety. I love this team for showing how to do all this properly
Unnecessary front digs are definitely easier with a rear brake setup of some kind. Don't the Cherokee already have a parking brake handle in the center console? Perfect place for 'drift' brake handle to make digs easier. Just saying. Lol.
Still need a dual stick to unlock the rear drive. Otherwise the parking brake locks all 4 wheels.
@@ADBBuild it has that.
Rory calm down...
Don’t encourage her, Rory
Jake-“I think Matt hit the high score on the jeep”!😂😂😂
🤣🤣
That is a great line. I think I'll steal that one.
6:18
Say less 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I used to hate alarms before this line
Classic😂
Loved Jake's reply to the alarm, "High Score"..😅
That may be a sign he has a gambling addiction. They live pretty close to all the casinos
That may be a sign he has a gambling addiction. They live pretty close to all the casinos
Jake, you are doin fine, takes a big man to say.. not ready yet! Much PROPS❤
Before long you will learn the recipe to that special sauce😂
What you called "The Jacking System" is a trick my mother taught me for getting up a steep hill covered in ice and snow. We lived on a residential street with an unavoidable 15% grade if taking the shortest way out. Not once did my mother fail to navigate the hill with her Volvo 244 rear-wheel drive and that was back before 1981 and before the City of Gloucester (Now part of Ottawa), ON, Canada started salting the roads. Most of the time the city didn't apply sand/grit (fine gravel) either. They left it up to individuals to bring their own shovels to spread the mix from a container at the top of the hill. She never did that.
It helped that my mother had learned to drive in Switzerland. It is and always has been harder to get a driver's license there.
🍁 (Swiss-Canadian)
I am also in Ottawa, but in Nepean, I guess we always had salt in the West end of town. Never knew that about Gloucester.
Cutting brakes are a system of levers, switches, or pedals that allow you to lock up individual brakes in order to stop one wheel and then use the other wheels to drive the vehicle, thus pivoting around that locked wheel. The result is a tremendously tight turning radius, and they can be implemented in a variety of ways.
Thanks for that. So a virtual dozer tracks system
Like a farm tractor? In a Jeep - wow !!!
Only if you have open diffs
@@mikegreer9041 Not true. You could have a single cutter that would lock both rears and still get excellent results while in front only.
It's not a tricycle. Front dig works really well as-is. You must have the twin stick he mentioned to disengage the rear axle and the rear parking brake.
NP205 or 200 and Dana 300 or 20 or 18 are easy to twin stick. Aftermarket t-cases offer it too.
Twin stick conversion kits are available or make your own.
Katlin did an outstanding job! The whole crew are fantastic people.
Everybody had a chance to shine in this one, including peanut (the love bug). Thanks Matt and crew.
Love Peanut!!!!!!
Kaitlyn is a beast!
I know y'all know Wrecker Rick. Please show his family some love. His daughter and her friend were in a Razor that caught on fire. T Money is ok. Her friend has 2nd degree burns!
Pray for them all.
God bless.

Jake is a national treasure with his one-liners. "I think Matt hit the high score on the Jeep!"
My friend Lisa calls the sound of an alarm a "cargasm". If you bump them or touch them just right.......
I'm with Katelyn, get the cutting brakes on the Banana as a tool!!!
I am absolutely in favor of Katelyn spending Matt's money on our entertainment. Everyone wins.
OK, cutting brakes ares cool
But, imagine, a 4 wheels steering Banana...
@@axlm.808that'd be pretty kool
Rear-steer would be more useful for towing and recovery. See: The Wrecker
I agree, its another tool in the tool box to use in certain situations. Does the Banana NEED it? eh its been getting by fine so far, but isn't that the point of a build? Its never done :D
Katelyn is such a good driver. She knows when to use power and when to be gentle.
She rock crawled professionally before joining MORR, so she isn't learning from scratch.
@@roberthudson1959 She still rock crawls with her dad. Her season hasn't started yet.
@@scuss2 Thanks for the update, but the point was that she started with more experience than some of her coworkers.
That was interesting. Looked like they pulled out all the stops to get the Jeep off the mountain and looked good doing it . Jake and Katlyn are a great addition to the crew , always eager to learn and know their capabilities with Matt’s encouragement making them MORR confident with every recovery. Thanks for the ride .
Katelyn is incredibly skilled. I really enjoy when she's in the video , I love her positive attitude and smile 😁😊. Jake is a super dude that has no problem admitting his limits. Very good team 👌❤️💪
Totally agree about Katelynn. Her positive attitude, smile, lighthearted energy, at ease talking to the camera, driving skill: put it together -she SPARKLES, and is a huge asset.
Peanut has the best life a dog could ever ask for!!!
I disagree to a point. Matt's dogs don't live inside with the family they are outside dogs. They can definitely have a better life. But they definitely don't have a bad life
@@masterbates7016 It's just a dog.
@@masterbates7016 Dogs are not indoor creatures and accustoming them to the chaos of a family home actually makes them anxious because they're always unsure what's going on.
@@jeffmcdonald101 indoor dogs also tend to get overfed are are less healthy overall. some breeds are indoor suited but not working dog breeds like peanut. people humanise them and think its best for them when its not. you usually find these people have overweight or under stimulated animals with behaviour problems.
@@masterbates7016 working dogs need a job. It is literally hereditary, they were bred to do a task and they will find one if you don't. Why do you think a Labrador RETRIEVERS love playing fetch?
Nobody has thanked Colby for getting those great drone shots. Thanks Colby! Kaitlynn, even tho she is very good for someone her age, is still willing to learn. She is going to become a driver on Rory's level! And, Jake, you are a smart man to let Matt take over. The last thing Matt needs is to damage a customer's car. Go back and practice with one of the jalopies! Great video today!
Awesome that Colby went out and got the drone shots that showed the precariousness of that ledge they were driving out!
They were cool shots!
Katelyn's learning ability is making her a real asset!😎
Great Vid!
Brandon Herrera for director of the ATF.
Excellent work!
Cutting brakes are the new "winch" for Matt... "for what I do, I don't need a winch and they are too heavy for the banana" - Old school Matt.
Once he has one vehicle with cutting brakes, they will ALL get them.
Great job Jake. What you did takes a lot of guts and MANY offroaders refuse to do because of their ego.
Nicely done Jake! Always know your limits/comfort zone and if you think something isn't right, let someone with more experience mess it up. No worries, you'll be there catching all of it on video for explanation to the police later. LOL
This was cool! Everybody learning new tricks, kudos to Jake for moving over and observing, next time he'll know more and do fine. Hats off to Matt for taking the time to teach the kids!
Even though you have lots of unique, capable and cool vehicles, I have to say the Banana is by far my favorite. The way it sounds, moves and looks while it just eats any obstacle is just flat out amazing to me! Glad to see it back on the Team.
Jake is awesome. Wise to realize his limitations and tap out too.
Katelynn has an excellent idea adding cutting brakes to the banana!
I love Jake’s comedy but the growth he’s showing is unbelievable! Much respect for knowing your limits. Keep crushing it MORR crew!
I have been with MOOR since they were Ed and Matt in the Banana, and Matt didn't like winches. Things have changed.
I've been here since Matt had 4k subscribers. It's interesting where they've come so far, but I'm happiest when I see XJ.
Remember when the Banana was actually purple! lol
Good work Jake. It is nice to see how difficult that role actually is!
I appreciate Jake for knowing his comfort zone and swapping out, thats amazing. Graet recovery yall and Katelyn your getting better and better.
I love Jake's complete lack of ego..if he thinks he's in over his head then he taps.
@@jeff-s3f Well, Jake knows it’s all about the diesel.
@@jele5116 not sure I know what that means but ..ok.

14:03 respect Jake!!!
100%.
Customer vehicle isn't the place to push your comfort zone either
Total respect for Jake!
Great job jake! You're doing awesome!
WOW that was a gnarly recovery. I'm SO glad Jake tapped out. That was 100% the right call. Even when Matt was in the jeep I was holding my breath.
I was about to say Jake was in over his abilities and he did the right thing and passed it to Matt, which knows this team so well, he knew Jake was struggling. Kudos to both, that is real teamwork!
Fly the plane! ❤”Aviate, navigate, communicate.” And then you threw in “Deadstick”. Loving the aviation terms being used in this ep.
Jake’s bad jokes get me every time.
Hit the high score 😆
His "bad jokes" I find are quite good! He's got a quick mind.
@@SlickBubbles He has! They are exactly my kind of joke.
Boy isn´t Banana a good looking rig and isn't she one skillful driver, and still getting better, thans to Matt.
Well done folks
Wheeling in a group seems like 89% god awful boring, waiting for other people and 11% driving.
Depends on the group size and relative skill level. Wheeling with 3-4 buddies that are roughly on your level is a good time.
Wheeling with a group of 20 newbies is more waiting than wheeling, but I'd rather they learn in a group than go get themselves stuck solo. 🤷
Traffic off road sounds almost criminal. 😂 . Wheeling at sand hollow is a scenic good time and morr fun than parking in the sand.
Totally agree
For an experienced driver absolutely! but if you want to to get into wheeling and don't have knowledgeable friends to teach you , its a safe way to gain experience. And not just in the 11% spent driving but also by watching what everyone else does right & wrong
I agree but the guys that do it actually like just standing around chewing the fat if you will.
10:23 Thank you Matt for the pilot comment! I've watched hundred of hours of ATC and pilot footage of planes and one of the first rules is that YOU, as the pilot, are in control of the plane. Even if ATC gives you clearance, or if protocol dictates you do something, if you as the pilot feel if conditions aren't right, or you aren't comfortable landing without a low pass over the runway, or for any other order, you have full control in what you're going to do next. *Flying the plane is your first and primary concern.* That's the one thing you are directly in control of.
I love that this applies to off-roading/rescue, as it should! ♥Flying the plane is your first and primary concern. Fly the Jeep!
Aviate, navigate, and communicate.
Great job guys and girl. Katelynn and Jake had a great learning day.
You are WAY more wise than most men would have been in that situation Jake. Man to man, you gained even more respect from me than you already had. Love ya brother.
Even a single lever brake makes a huge difference and install is much faster than running another line for twins. Perfect compromise.
Huge respect to the team. Great work. Matt is such a great teacher!
Excellent teamwork and training.
If my eyes weren't fooli9ng me, that Jeep that they pulled out of 'danger' this time, had a Cadillac emblem on the grill. Totally un-useful!
It would be a hoot to ride with Caitlyn down that hill! She has some sick skills behind the wheel. This is coming from someone who isn't comfortable unless they are behind the wheel.
Really great driving by Caitlyn! Good throttle instincts at 15:53!
Love the honesty and support they give each other. Seeing the banana out on the trails. My favorite videos are the banana doing a recovery with off-roading mixed in
Aaaayeeee...... good on ya Jake. Best to let the old man take that risk. Well done Team MORR
Katelynn is one of the happiest people I've ever seen. She's always smiling and laughing. I'm sure she's got worries and stresses as we all do but man, she's such a ray of sunshine.
Glad to see peanut back out on the job!
Just a great wholesome channel. No drama, no language, no ego's, all good people pulling together. All topped off with Katelyn's smile!
Mad respect for Jake real talk !! and Kaitlyn nice driving skillls .
Way to go, Jake. These situations are how you learn. Only take chances that you are comfortable taking. And Matt, excellent driving. Dead stick sucks in both planes and Jeeps!! You rocked it, though! Katelyn - Matt's protégé extraordinaire! What a team!
K8lyn is an impressive young lady. Skill and confidence.
Nobody is more enthusiastic than Jake, what an emotional asset.
Matt. I agree that the Banana does not need cutting brakes.
The Banana Needs Rear Wheel Steering!!!
Katlyn, maybe Matt will forget the rear wheel steering, and just add Cutting Brakes❤
Matt’s the patience, skill and humour with his teaching moments is incredible. Thanks for being so awesome!
That was tense. Great job crew
Katelyn continues to impress with her mad skillz behind the wheel, Jake impresses with his excellent judgement on when to tap out and observe and learn and Matt continues to impress as an AMAZING teacher!! MORR = Good people doing Good things!!
I don’t usually laugh when I watch a video but the “high score” on the jeep got me. Good one Jake!
At 9:10, Matt says there are no front tow points "at all" on the WJ's. My WJ has two tow HOOKS on the front from the factory. I'd expect all the WJs would have the same places for those hooks to attach, even if they don't have the hooks themselves. The owner of that disabled WJ should have bolted on a pair of hooks (even if the hooks face down instead of up: BOOO) Thanks for continuing entertainment and enlightenment, Matt.
Katelyn (and Kaulin) are great drives :) Katelyn is very very good in off road driving! Hahahaha Katelyn knows best 😆
Kaulin sucks
Rhett is the best driver at MORR.
She’s like 16 probably doesn’t know the best
@@nonono5351 She's 18 now.
She's a great rock crawler but she still has a bit to learn about the rest of it.
@@nonono5351She’s competed in and rolled off road sponsored trucks. Laughed it off. And asked. Did you record that? She’s young sure. Handy at the helm no doubt.
I LOVE it that Matt has the heart of a teacher. THIS is leadership at its best.
If Matt had a nautical recovery service to rescue watercraft, stranded on the water, would that be, “Matt’s Off-Shore Recovery?”
love that matt is constantly teaching everyone and trying to grow his team around him
Definitely the right call Jake.
Watching the young'uns taking care of business, enjoying every minute and always under Matt's proud, watchful eye never gets old. Thx.
As a WJ driver, I think I should order those factory front tow hooks from ebay.
I love these Teaching moments while on the job. Great Vid.
Great to learn new skills from just watching… didnt know you had to let off the throttle slightly when sandsawing… will i ever use it? Not in the UK, but still cool to know.!
Go Katelyn! Such an inspiration! And Jake making the call and tapping out. You live to fight another day! All, in due time!
Peanut is such a good dog
What a great episode this was! Learning new stuff, recognising limits, and extremely competent recovery work, of course.
Cutting brakes would be a useful tool. Katelynn is correct even if Matt doesn't think so.
Episodes with Jake and Katelynn are always so good. They're both so positive and wholesome. As a person who is inexperienced, it is nice to have people in these videos that share my sentiments about extreme situations. I love them!
"Aviate, navigate, communicate" is a set of priorities for pilots that helps them maintain control of the aircraft and stay safe. It's especially important during emergencies.
I’ve heard in an emergency flying situation you have the rest of your life to solve the problem. Or maybe that was a parachute guy. Still applies like brakes on a slope.
If you are planning on going offroad, the best thing you can do is get wheels with internal double beadlocks. You can safely run with tires that have as little psi as you want without ever having to worry about the tires breaking loose. Your standard beadlock wheel works fine as long as you stay above 5 psi and don't have any outward force on the inner side of the tire.
Much respect for Jake - "A man's got to know his limitations" 😎
That was an intense dead stick roll out 3 wheel motion. Matt earned his cheeky grin afterwords too. So yeah. Jake from state farm has learned a thing or two. Cause he’s seen a thing or two.
I bet the boys were GEALOUS when they saw this video! Lots of cool techniques! EXCELLENT CALL JAKE! Matt came close to rolling over.😮 Great driving and explaining EVERYONE!🤔 💖 From Minnesota. 😎
Yeah!!!!!! Whatever Katelynn says the banana needs, The banana NEEDS. I love watching the build videos. The recoveries are pretty cool, too. I learned a whole bunch of things I never knew I needed to know. Thanks!!!!
No. If Katelynn wants cut away brakes SHE CAN BUILD THE VEHICLE!🥴 The acronym KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid. The more GIZMOS on a vehicle the more things that can go wrong with it. Cut away brakes would have you doing a job FASTER with OVERCONIFIDENCE resulting in??? LEARN then BUILD WHAT you WANT!😮 FYI I've only driven 2 million miles safely as an over the road solo trucker. 9 speed manual transmission NO JAKE BRAKE when I started.
Matt you are a man after my own heart 👍
Teaching two young adults at the same time, and you invest time, knowledge, energy to build up the young people.
God blessing to you and all the elders on your team 🙏😇🇺🇸
My estimation of Jake went up several levels. It's totally ok to tap out in these situations if someone else knows the trail and situation better. I respect a man more for it than one who tries to go ahead and endanger others and damage vehicles and the environment. More dumb stuff has been done in the name of dumb machismo than any other thing.
Nice recovery! Katelyn is an excellent driver. A great asset to Matts off Road recovery!
Jake always the right call to be safe
Good job, Jake! It's important to know when you need help and being strong enough to ask.
You guys should make a blazer a recovery vehicle. They are narrow and they are good at off-roading
I agree. Square body Chevys are so cool. I almost bought K5 but I ended with XJ. I love it but K5 is really cool ride.
Matt. Kaitlin is really learning fast! And she's got moxie galore! Jake did the right thing with somebody else's vehicle! If you have doubts step aside, Cheers for that!
this is NOT what I go outdoors for!!!! traffic jams in the woods is not my idea of relaxing, This has ruined many areas in Colorado. As for 777 I used to build them
I wondered who made this course called triple 7’s. I wonder if it will outlive the airplanes? Surely it can. Don’t call me Shirley. lol.
