I had a very noticeable boost at around 145Hz otherwise very even sounding down to 35Hz then it falls off to an inaudible level. Thanks for the video!

Thanks! Mine goes down to about 30Hz, with a dip around 90Hz.

in the studio i could hear down to 20 but the volume seems to drop off quite a bit below 45. my Status Audio CB-1 Closed Back Studio Monitor Headphones had pretty even levels all the way down to 20. Thanks for the tip. Now I know where to test my bass!

Thanks, that was interesting, My setup seems to get loud around 115Hz and 50 Hz, pretty quiet around 70hz. I just need to work out what to do about it now. My monitors have the ability to do some degree of eq adjustment, which I had set for quite sometime, I set it up based on an app suggestion connected with my monitors. I felt this was possibly a bit crap so set my monitors up completely flat and this is how I just did the test. I will try my previous app dictated settings and try this test again...

Glad it was helpful! That indicates that you have peaks at 115 and 50, and a null at 70 Hz, but you'd probably need some proper measuring to figure out more details about what's happening. It might also not be a problem at all if you can work around it. Did you try it with the settings from the app? Did it help? /Thomas

@@MasteringExplained Thanks for your reply. I didn't try it with the app settings yet as the preset list of eq settings it has available doesn't seem to cover the problematic areas, and using my phone as the mic for the app seems pretty silly, but I will have a go and post back here my results. I think it is probably due to my poor studio environment as my desk is in a corner and I don't really have a decent treatment. I am hoping to build a studio space in my garden with some decent treatment within the next year.. one thing I might try over the next few days is moving my monitors around my room and trying this test to see the difference. Thanks again

Ok so I went to do the app analytics and noticed the app said the signal level was good even when I wasn't playing anything so I ran the analysis and it suggested some eq settings without even playing anything through my monitors, so maybe me feeling was right that an app can't be trusted!

Interesting .. 25hz was still solid... there was some sway in level when passing 90hz to 110hz the level dipped slightly >>

Great! These tones can be quite useful for hearing the transition between the mains and the sub as well, although it will be much easier to tune that by using proper measuring. /Thomas
