Hello plz do restoration of a pickaxe
My dad loved restoring old stuff. He would spend countless hours doing this in his workshop. And, I used to think it is so weird to enjoy this kind of restoration stuff. Now, I realize there are other people with similar interests. If my dad were alive today, I would have shown him these videos, and he would have loved them. Rest in Peace, dad!
Rip😓
why are people so stupid ?of course he could buy a new shovel but he doesn't need one! he's doing this for his and our entertainment I love restoring old tools myself it's very satisfying work. nice video .
+Metal And Restoration thank you ! keep up the good work :)
Thank you lol, it’s just his hobby. Bet all the people judging can’t even do what he did.
+Bobby_Trill I guaruntee they can't .
Right
He earns money to buy 1000 of this on UA-cam
That shovel will easily be good for 2-3 more minutes after this restoration.
I had same thought
He messed that up himself.. The cuts r 2 clean!!!
Paul H why not make it more interesting
Not everyone has a lot of money to restore expensive old autos or bikes but there is something about restoring something old, no matter what it is that gives you instant gratification when you are done and years to come for your efforts. I too enjoy this type of restoration even if the finished product is just a wall hanger. Kudos to you. 👊
If that long. Lol
This shovel must have meant something to him. I’ve got old tools that were my great grandfather’s. I’ve restored them, and use them all the time. There is satisfaction in not throwing stuff away like everyone else, but taking care of the things we’ve got.
Just craft a new one, all you need is one iron and 2 sticks

So this guy is doing something he enjoys, keeps him occupied and doing something rather than sitting watching youtube etc. Also he's not hurting anyone but judging by the comments is getting a lot of shit for showing people what he does in his spare time... there are a lot of miserable bastards out there.
Peace
The problem is that he filmed it and posted it to youtube. Stay away from social media if you can't take feedback.
@@fiddykooro3541 The problem seems to be yours rather than his because he still enjoyed doing what he was doing whereas you didn't, so that is surely your problem. If it wasn't something you liked that's fair enough and you are free to make any comment but there is really no need to be a dick about it. Afterall nobody tied you to a chair and stuck matchsticks in your eyes to keep your eyelids open and were forced to watch it.
Peace
@@MrEvilWasp did that happen to you? Or this videos creator? I don't think so.
@@Restorationandmetal Buy. A new. Shovel.
@@Restorationandmetal buying a new one would cost less, and would be better.
I love finding new people that enjoy the same sort of stuff as me . It makes me feal really happy . Keep it up

This man is doing his job for good he is so great at making stuff or building stuff I mean
I love restoration videos, but whyyyyyyyyy the music
@@Restorationandmetal I like the sound involved in restoration, it makes the video raw and clean. I just associate this type of music with those cheap quality life hack or "strangely satisfying" videos. Perhaps even different music that matches the brawn and mechanical elements of these types of videos
i agree
@Lodogg 3323 :o
+Lodogg 3323 😐 ?

I’m more impressed that I actually sat through watching this, that shovel was better off being broken lol
He actually put a lot of work into this and you’re just sitting there complaining that’s it’s not good enough for you, lol gtfo
If you didnt like then why did u watch it
@Thomas Jefferson you know how old that comment is and did I ask
@Thomas Jefferson grow up🙄
@Thomas Jefferson your not funny either
It was a restoration right up til he whacked 1 1/2" off the end. Then it became a repurposing. Restoration means bringing it back as close as possible to it's original shape and size. With just a little more effort, he could have done that.
I agree
@Projekt Kobra
Really? He ruined the POS shovel that was one rainstorm away from decaying the rest of the way into the ground and now can be used as a.... shovel!
Chill man it’s a freaking shovel it wasn’t being used anyway
Nvm I agree he ruined the resorations and he actually ruins all of his restorations
Omg Why did he chop a peice of it? I thought he was going restore the whole thing! Not chop it! Nice JOB. But he CHOPPED IT! 👿
I don’t agree when you cut it to be shorter
Me tooo

I don't agree when you comment like stupid
Please go through the support channel for me, thank you
Yeah, cut off a bit too much.
Still, badass video.
Seems like a lot of work for very little reward. Thanks for sharing.
Although it doesn't look antique and it's not worth it yet, it's been well restored. Thanks
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this restoration, mainly because it was obvious that you enjoyed doing it! Pay not attention to negative contributors whose opinions should be kept to themselves. Keep up the good work, and I will continue enjoying watching you restore!
These videos are super satisfying to watch. Keep up the good work!
Wtf man! You should restore your hammer first 😂
True
Its always fun repairing things. I myself love to repair items that i need or use often that have broke. But that shovel had seen better days. It was very flimsy from years of building rust and you sanded it and ground it down removing precious layers how ever so thin they were of material that its just going to fold over and break again before you know it. You should have added some material to it to extend the tip you had cut off and also to stiffen it up. Good job though I just thought id offer some insight. Take care.
This was obviously a restoration for either the pleasure or for sharing this with us, useful I don't think was ever the intention
So, based on that assumption, just enjoy the video. Nicely done, sir.
Ignore the unnecessary negative criticism, those people are just bored. They can’t appreciate the effort. But I certainly do, very entertaining to watch!
Nice project. I have an old broken shovel that i refuse to throw out. Now I know a Saturday project is in store for it.
Thanks for uploading.
Only issue I have with this is how loud the music is is overpowers the actual restoration the music is good music I’ll give you props on your choice all im saying is lowering the overall music volume would take less away from the restoration otherwise great work on the shovel
You made great contribution to environment protection
I had a world war 2 shovel and it's bit rusty but i can still see the pattent writting on it.gonna have to do the same thing like this.nice video i've learned a lot.
Hey man, you just made an old beat up retired shovel smile again because it can now do what it was born to do: SHOVEL! You did a fantastic job, your dad would be proud. Thank you for the video.
There are those who do, and there are those who criticize. Learn from those who offer positive criticism. But, remember, you are a wonderful inspiration to the doers and perhaps those who need a little push to become a doer.
👍
I was watching this with my buddy and he said he wishes he could restore his wife....
Bet she wishes the same thing!
I love watching this kind of videos..so satisfying...a lot people dont understand the sense of fulfillment on doing somethin like this..of course for some people theyll say "id rather buy new one",..yes its easier but restoring things such old/vintage sword,shovels,etc...makes it more valuable..
Why envy?he has the talent, the materials and most of all he enjoys and love what he's doing.thats why he had this channel...love it.
Damn you have my respect. I was sure there was no way you could turn that into a usable shovel
It's amazing how something so wore down can be restored to former glory, cool video man
For future videos if you have to clean or remove rust from inside a cylindrical object. Get a coat hanger or something equally small and workable. Bend it into a shape that lets you chuck it into a drill and hold a piece of abrasive paper. When you turn on the drill it should spin the abrasive inside the tube and sand down the surface and remove rust.
Much easier than the masonry drillbit you used
I love the idea or restoring and re-purposing stuff.
The video shows the steps you would take on a delicate part.
To improve the methodology --> If you're going to grind, wire wheel and weld, you'd do that before an acid dip the acid dip is to get any missed spots that mechanical means of rust removal don't get.
If you're going to paint - I'd paint the shovel head separate to coat areas inside that are missed when the handle is on.
Anyways keep on working hard :D It's good to see people who can do something instead of buying something.
Thanks to all the restorers who are doing this coz of them we can know what a restored item looks like as we are too lazy to do anything except watch videos on UA-cam
I'm loving your work. Very satisfying and educational. Thank-you.
That shovel is paper thin now. Might be cool as a decoration but I doubt it'll do any real work without bending and breaking at the welds and pressings
ollieknoox I see you have never used a farm shovel before
If you can do better I'd love to see it. Until then, shut up. He did a good job.
To look at a broken rusty shovel and think I'm bringing this back to life is inspiring and amazing good video keep up the great work
Your restoration methods are FAR different from other videos I've watched- keep up the good work
Very Good but You cut too much !!!
Not much of a restoration if you cut a quarter of it off and don’t replace it? Got a metal sand castle building shovel now
I agree.. And the paint job at the end... Wow that was not enjoyable to watch
I thought the same until I thought about it a little more. If you look a little closer to the sub-titles and the angle of the shovel head, you'll see it's a "shovel plow," not a standard shovel. So, he doesn't really need that "extra" length.
Bruh I'd like to see you do better...
Do the Work
Then send me a video of you restoring a shovel like that
I like it being back from the death so good job, i might have cut of less of the length but anyways.
Parabéns serviços muitos bom são proficional

Keep up making these videos I enjoy watching you work! Some one would love to have one of your restorations!
I have a very old shovel my dad had before i was born.
The back of the metal part of the shovel broke.
A friend of mine offered to weld it back together.
I said no.
I will just buy a new one.
But i still kept the old shovel anyways.
Sense i used it many times for many jobs.
I could have at least let him weld it back together and not used it.
I just keep it around thinking about old times.
Like when people look for very old furniture just to look nice in their homes.
Wasnt even a restoration he cut off 4 inches of it when he could of added pieces then wielded it to keep its original length this is a modification not a restoration. restorations are keeping it in its original form while making it like new or as close to new as possible withought damage it as best you can all he did was just cut it off
MetroidLord99 that was my biggest issue too. Cutting that much off really affects the usefulness of the shovel.
(I just noticed your name is Metroidlord and mine is Brinstar Media)
@@brinstarmedia1411 lol i didnt notice either until i read the whole comment but yeah i would even remotely call it a restoration
I do not understand so many poeple praising him when he cut off so much.. is like a restore a book and throw away a quarter... wtf
@@riosway2364 agree!
@@riosway2364 and the paint job at the end..he can't even paint "inside the lines"
If I would have been in his place I would have made a new one instead of wasting my time on cleaning the shovel, because I don't know restoring things 😂😂😂😂...but heads off to your dedication to your work well done 👍👍👍👍
Bhavesh Kothari no one asked. no one cares.
Bhavesh Kothari good thing you deleted your comment because of being a hypocrite little child
Ficou muito linda 😍 Parabéns continue assim 👏👏👏
Cool restore on something that probably would have ended up in the landfill, cheers for recycling. I probably would have painted before attaching the handle, but that's just me, nice view demo and keep on helping the planet!!
I found alot of old tools lying on the desert, and brought home. I bet I don't have much left though, after my husband passed.
иногда на много удобней чем штыковой лопатой.ua-cam.com/video/mfWSNzXAYKA/v-deo.html
Hmm... i could buy a new snow shovel to remove the snow from my walk way
Oh i know! i'll just restore my old one which is rusted and its handle is broken...
Luckily i have the materials to do so! These videos inspire me to restore old broken things and make them useful again
This is the craziest resto I've ever seen, the thought of looking at that spade and thinking...ya that needs to be restored ...I got a 55 300 Chrysler in about the same condition if you like making stuff look like new again hit me up
The hammer is more rusty that the shovel 😉🤣
You have to restore it too
😂😂😂
I appreciate the work, and the time and love put into it, but please learn the definition of the word "Restoration", which is to return something to its former condition.
What you have done is a "Mending".
You made the shovel usable again.

I’d like to see you all restore a shovel!! Stop hating on him, it’s something he likes to do, also if you don’t like the music turn the volume down!!
leilaxxx if you don’t like the comments then don’t read them
Acording to youtube restorators is everything okder than 5 years antique 😁
3:17 I'm assuming that you're trying to show that you're soaking the shovel in hydrochloric acid. If so, the correct formula is actually "HCl" and not "HCL." Thank you.
What does HCL stands for?
The correct answer would be that Cl is a word? cause if u write CL u are saying C is one thing completely different from L? Is that what u are saying? If thats the case what does L stand for in chemistry?
@@nickiesanx8959 what are you talking about? Cl is the chemical formula of chlorine. I feel like ik being wooshed
@@abramjohan2799 I think I have idea of what he's trying to say. I think he's saying since there isn't an element with the symbol L that it's should be assumed he means HCl. Which I guess is obvious, but HCL is still wrong.
I was looking for this comment.
I would laugh so hard if someone restored this by completely replacing it.
Oh no what happened to my shovel?? Its now my favourite frying pan

Hey you do things according to your vision I think this was neat and turned out great
Great restoration. I would never have thought.
Sem palavras . muita capacidade marávihoso.
Very good restoration work, but I found it unnecessary to wash the target with HCl residues on the tap, contaminating the soil.
Other than that detail, the work is perfect.
