As a German guy who grew up with "Loddar", watched a lot of documentaries of him and even was blessed to play ball with him on Puma's soccer court in HQ Herzogenaurach, I want to thank you very much for this video. So far the best Lothar Matthäus docu I have seen.

Not the most spectacular player, but constant as few others.
First thing that comes to mind is Italia '90. No team was performing incredible well, but as games went by you could just feel Germany was the strongest one.
In the final they were clear favorites although it took a questionable penalty to end Diegitos crazy dream .. You see, nobody could understand how Argentina made it thus far

Yeah, Germany really grew into that tournament and I was impressed by how Maradona managed to bring that team to the final.

@@football2go ... not to forget, for all his class, Maradona's hand ball against the USSR in the group phase. Argentina would deservedly gone home after three games and only survived because Maradona cheated his team into the second round.

@@johnjim6793but looking back Argentina made it through by characters and i thought they would have retained

@@lexkanyima2195 Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know. What we do know is that Maradona - for all the admiration that I have for him as a footballer - deserved a red card for his hand ball, so Argentina would have had to beat the USSR and Brazil without him.

    What fall?!?
He was first the greatest central attacking midfielder....then greatest box to box 8....and finished his career as the second best Libero behind only Matthias Sammer.
World Cup Final. Word Cup winner.
First Seria A title since a decade.
    Ballon Dor winner.
Uefa Cup winner with FC Bayern München
As a player....me personally.... I haven't seen a better one. He is the definition of what i consider a Leadership player that literally can do anything...
