The last time we had musicals dominate was in 1964, when MARY POPPINS and MY FAIR LADY earned 13 and 12 nominations respectively in the same year (MARY POPPINS won 5 including Actress while MY FAIR LADY won 8 including Picture, Director, Actor among others).

I am just wondered, how so unexpectedly good a performance this is of these two songs from Dylan's back catalogue - oh, the many treasures it hides! Hats off, Timothée... I love this...
Timothee Chalamet did it again... He delivered Bob Dylan's songs with such authenticity and respect... No doubt he is a 2 times Oscar nominee... Manifesting the Oscar🎥🏆 for him ❤❤
Damn, Timothee does it again. What a beautiful tribute to Bob Dylan. I missed seeing him in college (BD) because he got sick and had to cancel the show. Can't wait to see his movie. I'm always impressed with Timothee's work ethic and passion. He never calls it in. You'll get that Oscar eventually Timothee!
He is this generation’s movie star. Like Leonardo Dicaprio, patrick Swayze, John Stamos. Insane talent. This man can have 1000 careers doing different things. Every project he touches, he brings charm in an indescribable way. He is in for a world of more opportunities when he already probably makes enough to sustain him for life. He will be remembered for generations. I get the same feeling watching him as I did young leo in Titanic. I sound like a fangirl but i am so happy to be in my early 20s when he is in his prime. The kids will be looking back in 20 years lol
Great performance, forget Jon Perlales, old-man anxious, obvious critique that had to play to all the obvious Dylan reviews. This was someone having fun and being respectful to Dylan's music.
And even Adam Sandler introducing... PERFECT, arrangements, band, Timi, James Blake on piano and vocals... I'm a huge Bob fan for ages and love this tribute and movie - fully deserved all Oscar nominations! But I doubt Timothee will win unfortunately.
Timothée has obviously had a Dylan awakening that most of us had 60 years ago. And it's so glorious to see and hear. What a masterful performance. I would sure love to see an album come out of this new love that he has for Dylan.
Crazy how this guy went to someone I couldn't care less about to my favorite modern day actor because of this Dylan thing he's doing. Nothing but respect for Mr. Chalamet.
This young man has really sold me on his acting career. I'm a huge Dune fan, so I thought it might just be that. But he had "Like a Rolling Stone" stuck in my head for a solid week after seeing "A Complete Unknown".
this man might have the greatest PR team in the world, this was an incredible move for him executed insanely well. such a good choice to have him choose songs that played to his strengths (the second one is basically just a monologue) and show off the skills he attained in this role, using lesser known songs that people won’t be able to as easily directly compare to bob dylan. it also makes it look like he was just so dedicated that he found his own deep cuts that he personally liked (and maybe he actually did but either way conveying that message is smart). give this man his oscar!!!!
Chalamet is one of my favorite SNL hosts of all time. All 3 times he did an incredible job. Looking forward to seeing him on SNL for years ahead I hope.
I'm trying to picture Bob D watching this. When he started Three Angels I suddenly started to cry. It's like an emotional Rollercoaster. I have no idea what came over me He has revived and brought Bob back to life not ONLY to Bob's long time devoted Fans but to these younger generations. I've been a true blue loyal fan of Dylan's for 60 years and I am now a true blue loyal fan of Timmy C. for as long as I live. I love them both❤️❤️
Sandler & Chalamet are good friends. They play pick-up hoops & have for a few years now (real grinding & sweaty hoops-not just a couple of "shots up for show" basketball) TC was asked about their friendship in an interview, & you could tell that they really have a deep bond. It makes perfect sense that Adam Sandler would introduce his segments.

I agree. He could practically be my son, but the first time I saw him I knew he was something special. He’s got that very rare, impossible to describe quality that is absolutely magnetic and magnificent.
@@k8marlowe but I am your father🥷
I love how Timothee is bringing back Bobby to my generation. Ive been a Bob Dylan fan for years and I'm so happy that my friends started listening to him cause of the movie.
This performance gave me chills. Absolutely extraordinary. The subtle background vocals on "Three Angels" are incredible.
The "homage" Timothee pays to Dylan is that of a true fan who is also an artist. He gets Dylan.
Mad love and appreciation for Adam to show up to introduce because I know he's a huge Bob Dylan fan ❤❤❤
I am not really much of a Dylan fan but that performance was truly outstanding. Is there anything Timothée Chalamet can't do? Unreal.
You can debate his skills all you want, but the attention he is bringing to a world of music that is just begging to be discovered by those unbeknownst is something I admire.
They got sandler to do a chal- a - met 😂.
Hehehe, I relistened that part of Golden Globes monologue many times! So happy SNL added that little reference :)
They are both streetballers and good mates!!!
@@liza_mandrake Its because of that? I saw on Wikipedia that Adam Sandler introduced him, but I thought like " Where the hell did he came from"? I thought he was in a sketch that was cut for time
@@eduardomenna4762yes in Nikki Glasers golden globe monologue she said that Timothy’s last name sounded like something Sandler would say and then they panned to Sandler and he actually said it. It was awesome
I can’t get over this. I hope I never do!!! My God Timothée Chalamet♥️Your future is bright!!
Is there anything this kid can’t do? He’s so unbelievably talented. Played such a mix of different characters compellingly. One even speaking a huge amount of french. Singing, dancing, playing guitar, riding sandworms. And a class act.
Agree! Did you know he’s half French, a dual French citizen and fluent in French?
@ yes I did. Even though he is fluent it’s still impressive that growing up in the states he basically broke into the scene with a dual language role, and that he can be this all round performer with that can transcend multiple languages
Manifesting the Oscar🎥🏆 for him ❤❤
New found respect for Timothee abilities. 👏 He is that dude.
Did not expect Three Angels. I loved it.
I would sure love to see an album come out of this new love that he has for Dylan.
hes always liked old music! ever since i started following him almost a decade ago, his song reccomendations have been great.
So proud of our hometown boy and so proud of the outstanding job that Timothee brought home to us.
this man might have the greatest PR team in the world, this was an incredible move for him executed insanely well. such a good choice to have him choose songs that played to his strengths (the second one is basically just a monologue) and show off the skills he attained in this role, using lesser known songs that people won’t be able to as easily directly compare to bob dylan. it also makes it look like he was just so dedicated that he found his own deep cuts that he personally liked (and maybe he actually did but either way conveying that message is smart). give this man his oscar!!!!
That was lovely❤I hope he wins Best Actor this year❤
I would bottle up Timothee. Truly he has the makings of an icon in the further. Every movie he gives his self totally ❤❤❤
Such a talent! He’s I love his acting and his a great singer as well. Such a cutie
That was wonderful. I was crying by the end. Mahalo!❤
Timmy is just impossible not to love. If you don’t like him, you’re probably just a bad person. Lol
brilliant insight from a 9 year old

This is what happens when you put your everything on something ❤
Kid is the real deal, when you are authentic you dont need anything else, this was a amazing set
Total talent in so many ways , really enjoy Timothy , a real winner 🏆
I am beyond impressed by Timothee’s performance on the show! Harry Styles and Timothee are in a league no one else is hosting and singing on the show.
Chalamet is one of my favorite SNL hosts of all time. All 3 times he did an incredible job. Looking forward to seeing him on SNL for years ahead I hope.
Timothee Chalamet is a superstar
Just wow….blown away at how amazing this sounds ❤
I'm trying to picture Bob D watching this. When he started Three Angels I suddenly started to cry. It's like an emotional Rollercoaster. I have no idea what came over me
He has revived and brought Bob back to life not ONLY to Bob's long time devoted Fans but to these younger generations.
I've been a true blue loyal fan of Dylan's for 60 years and I am now a true blue loyal fan of Timmy C. for as long as I live.
I love them both❤️❤️
Adam Sandler just shows up to SNL whenever he wants now.
I mean, he definitely has a lifetime pass to SNL, considering how influential he was during his time there
Sandler & Chalamet are good friends.
Timmy’s been waiting for this moment for a very long time!
Need to go to a Timothée Bob Chalamet concert asap
Bobothee Chamylan
So much respect timmy for pay homage to bob dylan artistry beautiful song.
There is something serendipitous that Chalamet's portrayal of Dylan in a particular era has become so popular in our current state.
