I haven't seen a large print version. And Actually Amazon doesn't even seem to have many. christian book has lots but I didn't see a large print. This one is 9 point
Charles Ryrie's favorite translation was the NASB and whenever the other Ryrie bibles were in other translations he always corrected the text to by saying it's better rendered thus..... . ...I didn't buy the modern Ryrie in NASB because the cross references are in the middle and I Prefer them on the side margins which they match up next to the very verse they are from but center column you have to hunt too much to find the reference as it's muddled and not always lined up next to verse it's coming from so I bought on EBAY the 1995 Ryrie NASB so I have the side column references and plenty of room for my notes too. Ryrie doesn't have as many footnotes as some but what he says is a lot and all you need because some study bibles have a lot of footnotes but ramble on with useless information and he gives less notes but straight to the point. Just like you can talk to two people and one guy talks for an hour and says nothing and the other guy gives a one liner and makes his point. Scofield 3 KJV is good too and Thompson Chain and Dake bible.
I believe they’re glued. Bit that’s really just an educated guess. The box and the Bible doesn’t say and I’ve take. A pretty good look and it looks glued.
Most likely it means "Thumb Index" Which just means the books of the Bible have markers on the outside page of the Bible for easier ability to find and flip to them.
The Ryrie KJV has side column still at least.........I notice in this NASB show in video it has the verses all together and you have to hunt to find the verses as well but the 1995 edition the NASB has the verses in square form and easy to locate as opposed to paragrah from and number to the verse in middle of paragraphs which slows down the study and wastes time.
I just ordered one of those in soft touch. I have heard a ton about how good this study Bible is but I have never used one myself. Thanks for this video to give me a peek at what I am to expect. I am wondering how to install more ribbons? God bless you.
Its a classic for sure! And the soft leather touch are really nice these days. I think you'll like it. As far as installing more ribbons. Lemme get you a link or two This first one is Beau Tate's channel. He's a top notch reviewer and Bible aficionado. His tutorial is pretty good: ua-cam.com/video/FQ6jJUV21PM/v-deo.html This is another great tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/Bsu6-DEHMqY/v-deo.html I'm gonna admit that I'm a little to chicken to do it. But that said...everybody I know has done it and say it's pretty easy.
I have an old edge lined early 2000’s ryrie , it is wonderful but, gasp, the red is faded pink. After a year, I just was so tired of not being able to read the text .
IT seems (in my experience) that every translation has little idiosyncrasies like that but overall the team does an amazing job IMO. (incidentally stuff like this is why the LSB is coming out...so we'll see how it does)
@@ClaimingChristianity yeah hopefully they fix that, i know it's fixed in the 2020 nasb. though the lsb has some odd choices if you look at the pdf download of philipians where they translate bondservant as slaves of christ and also verse 19 of chapter 1 they say it's a quote of job but it just seems they are describing their present circumstances in the letter.
@@abc123fhdi yeah...I heard MacAurther talk about the "Slave" issue. That is one of the words that caused him to do the LSB to my understanding. He thinks thats a more accurate portrayal of what the orrignial text is trying to say.

Hi, are the pages of this Bible sewn or glued?
I believe they’re glued. Bit that’s really just an educated guess. The box and the Bible doesn’t say and I’ve take. A pretty good look and it looks glued.
@@ClaimingChristianity Thank you for your prompt reply. Much appreciated.
I actually felt bad that it took so long. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!

Thank you! Excellent thorough review! Really super
I noticed the list of other Ryrie bibles with ISBN numbers in the beginning of the video. What is red letter vs. red letter indexed?
Most likely it means "Thumb Index" Which just means the books of the Bible have markers on the outside page of the Bible for easier ability to find and flip to them.
That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Would you be able to compare the Ryrie Study Bible to the Thompsons Chain Reference Study Bible?
I would love to. However, I don't happen to have a cooy it Thompsons Chain Ref. But if I get one I sure will.
Thanks for watching!!
Set up well for preaching and teaching. I have had two in the past 40 years.
can you do a new link to get the book? It says page not found.
Here a similar one. Not exactly. By Ryrie SB

@@ClaimingChristianity Thank you so much, do you know when they will put the NASB back on for sale?
I don’t. They kinda come and go. Sorry
Used to be a lot better. References are on the side in the one I have with wider margins.

Yeah. That can happen. But it just shows you’re usin it. 😁

Curious if you meant to post this??
except for the passage in corinthians where it translates pornea as immorality rather than sexual immoraility, nasb is pretty good.

The red letter sections are terrible! To light in too many places.
A lot of people feel that way. Some bibles I really can’t even see the red. But I am colorblind. lol. So it doesn’t bother me much.
