    Lotus = Ultimate Driving Experience
    Lotus is the most underrated car brand. Lotus makes the best sport/tracks cars, IMO. The reason people don't give Lotus the respect it deserves is they [Lotus] continue to stay true to the philosophy of the founder. Since they aren't concerned with big horsepower, fastest lap times and advance tech, modern car buyers aren't interested. Modern car buyers don't really care about having the best driving experience. They care more about impressing other people. If the car isn't flashy, they aren't interested.

      *they are about lap times for some cars i believe
      but i agree with the rest

    I liked better the Jacket that the exterior of that Evora.
    And the ring on the pinky... that is just plain good sense of color coordination.
    Nice mini review

    what happened to the "new" Lotus line up they showed us a couple years ago? Those cars looked awesome! (it was 2010, I just checked)

      2m8y4u They are pretty impressive! Unfortunately those models are either KIV or scrapped due to massive financial losses during then CEO Danny Bahar tenure. However he managed to add Evora into production that makes Lotus day a little bit brighter but the issue about the fund for Bahar's project was taxpayers' money through government wholly owned Proton while Proton itself was also bleeding. Since Proton (major shareholder of Lotus) been taken over and privatised, the new owner DRB-Hicom an industrial conglomerate preferred Lotus to improvise existing models on weight reduction (less is more) and new facelift. The only unit in Lotus Group that currently making money is Lotus Engineering.

    Finally! A video not on an overhyped 720S

    • @lawlerzwtf
      @lawlerzwtf 7 років тому

      Watcha expected? The 720S is new and the NDA got lifted on everyone at the same time.

    • @benkrapf
      @benkrapf 7 років тому +2

      Overhyped implies that the car sucks.
      Its likely not only the fastest car in its segment, but also the most comfortable, with more luggage space than nearly every competitor.

    $104k USD for anyone wondering. You can get into a lot of cars at that point, but then you wouldn't be driving a lotus...

    Ain't a Exige Sport 380 / Cup is faster? It is lighter and sportier, besides that it even looks way better.

    • @zarbon700
      @zarbon700 7 років тому +2

      This video was shot before the Exige 380 was released. So, he was correct in what he said.

      ah, i was wondering too. And the 410 was faster than the 350? Damn..
      Still would take the exige if i could chose

  • @mx19idlewilder
    @mx19idlewilder 7 років тому

    Brilliant but I'm 100% sure Exige 380 Cup is/will be faster than Evora 410.

      i was wondering too, but someone else said in another comment that this video was shot before the release of the 380 (even sport)

    Lotus will never be anything more than they are now (on the edge of bankruptcy) unless they start to build cars that are more everyday usable. But they can't do that unless they have a major manufacturer backing them.

    • @harryc266
      @harryc266 7 років тому

      Stig qwe what do you mean? Is don't they're going to start making suvs and hatchbacks just so they can make some more money..

    • @eddieconroy212
      @eddieconroy212 7 років тому

      No not hatchbacks. Apparently there is an SUV in the pipeline, whether it will come off I don't know. I was referring to sports cars that are more refined, Porsche for example. Porsche are owned by VW but do there own thing (on the whole). Purists might have a problem with it, but they always do with change.

    • @ostfahrstreifen8421
      @ostfahrstreifen8421 7 років тому

      imo they've done a big step in this direction with the evora. But I still hope they'll regenerate further to stay independent, bc i fear if they are driven by some big name, they'll start to do "normal" sports cars instead of those which really stand out.

      Victor Supra What's wrong?cause it's a Toyota engine?If you don't know Toyota create 5.0 litre 2UR-GSE(4969 cc) V8 engine (currently used by Lexus latest models) that produced 467HP compare to Camry engine that produced 296HP.
      If Lotus tweak that V8 engine to add more power like the Camry engine with supercharger(maybe over 600-700HP),the next Esprit will be born.Also,Toyota engine is good for it's reliability and the cost of maintenance is pretty cheap.
      See,cause It's Toyota doesn't mean it's bad.

    • @victorgiannakaras4466
      @victorgiannakaras4466 7 років тому +8

      Firz Zen I'm just kidding. I own a rav4. I love toyota. Lotus made the right decision and took engines from toyota that are extremly reliable.

      @justarandomstickminwithaha6984 7 років тому +8

      Victor Supra Yeah,I just can't stand people don't see the potential of Toyota engine.😊
      great to see that you realize it.

    • @victorgiannakaras4466

      Firz Zen you are absolutelly correct. Engines such as 2jz, 1jz, 3sg, 4ag, 1uz-fe and the v12 you mentiomed before are masterpieces.

    Still way too heavy. Needs to be at least 300KG's lighter then it is now. Back in the good old days Lotus was well below 1000KG's.

    • @0NetherCraft0

      Kuddlesworth NA that's why the Exige still exists.

    • @JMartinni
      @JMartinni 7 років тому +9

      Would be nice, yes, but Lotus had previously heavier cars like the Esprit too - and the Evora is the largest of their current line-up. Overall compared to the competition they do a good job at keeping the cars light-weight, IMO.

    • @Punisher9419
      @Punisher9419 7 років тому

      It's still pretty heavy. They need a 700kg car. Exige weighs just over 900KG's which is pretty good but still heavy compared to the past.

    • @Punisher9419
      @Punisher9419 7 років тому

      Esprit's where pretty heavy so yea but I see an Esprit more of a GT then a track car. The original Elite was really what lotus was all about. That's just me though.

    • @tomhiggins4816
      @tomhiggins4816 7 років тому +1

      I mean technically you could make a 700kg car but the price would be ridiculous as a carbon tub would end up being used
