I probably just need to make my own video on all my Sitka gear about what works and what doesn’t for me, lol. I’d recommend getting the mountain vest as a thin wind stopping layer that you can still shoot your bow in and layer over. The second piece I’d recommend is the heavyweight hoodie. It can be worn as a base layer or as an insulating layer, it’s super versatile and quite. And just crazy comfortable. And lastly, my opinions on the Traverse Cold Weather Hoodie. It’s super comfortable and extremely warm, I love wearing it. But it’s definitely not going with me on a backpack hunt. It’s just too heavy to make it in my pack most of the time. Ok, I’ll shut up now. #mysitkaaddiction

@@jasonjohn1978 that’s awesome. Thank you for your input. I’ve yet to do a true backpack hunt but I’ll definitely take that into consideration when I do. I’ve been rocking most of this for whitetail hunts.

That’s awesome, your kit makes sense for what you’re doing and it’s easy to adapt it for different types of hunting. That’s what I love about Sitka. Get out west sometime and hunt some big mountains, you’ll fall in love with it.

Keep up with the sitka videos! Definitely enjoyable. Just finished up with my elevated 2 gear. Definitely enjoyed the sub alpine video hence that is my next gear set up

I’ve always wanted Sitka gear but for the moment, it is just out of my price range. That other brand you reviewed though is much closer to what I can afford with a lot of what I want from Sitka. Your talking adding increasing percentages with your fear, my current set up is like a negative 20. Loud and bulky

Quiet gear is super important. Would hate to have a hunt ruined due to your jacket making noise after working so hard to get the opportunity in the first place. There's a lot of good stuff out there though even if it isn't sitka.

Is that the WS or regular down jacket?

I think it’s just called the kelvin jacket. They only ran it one season and then made some changes for the WS and the down. At least that’s my understanding.

@@NextStepOutdoors Right on! I’ve been running the Kelvin Light Hoody, which I absolutely love, and tossing my rain jacket over for additional warmth/wind break. I just purchased the WS for camp/glassing. I’m expecting it to be a bit noisy too, unfortunately. Thanks for the response! Cheers 🤘

Let me know what you think of the WS. If it is decently quiet, could be a nice addition to the system.

@@NextStepOutdoors The WS is an incinerator! I had it out in 10 degree weather today with just a T-shirt on under it and it was toasty. The material isn’t as quiet as a Kelvin Light Hoody, but not as noisy as my Cloudburst rain gear. It has a ton of loft. It’ll be a piece I use for glassing and in camp, so I’m not super worried about the noise.
They are discontinuing the WS. If anyone is looking at ordering I’d suggest to go a size down. I’m 6’4” , 260lbs, athletic build, 36” waist, 36-37 sleeve length. I wear a 2X in all other Sitka products and the 2X fit like a 5X. The L was too tight & sleeves too short, but XL will be perfect with layering.
