It's interesting that you mentioned "Shenmue", since Toshihiro Nagoshi, who was the driving force behind the "Yakuza"-franchise was also the director and producer of "Shenmue", and took a lot of his old team with him to work on "Yakuza".
Huh, never knew this. Makes a lot of sense.
he worked on it but the director and producer was Yu Suzuki
The Yakuza games made me laugh, cry (I mean genuinely cry), hold my breath in suspense, and everything. They have all the feels. Yakuza 0 in particular bringing us back to the 80s was the happiest I'd felt with a game in so long, it's just perfect. It's a definite "don't miss" game -- where if you have missed it, don't do that. It's time to un-miss it.
Then you will love Fist Of The North Star: Lost Paradise. Made by the same developers of Yakuza, it's basically this game but cranked the insanity dial to 15.
That one scene from Yakuza 3
about the money flying out when you hit someone, that's to represent the economic bubble that japan was going through in the 80's, in the following Yakuza games you don't even earn half as much money as in Yakuza 0.
Not even a percent
Until Majima ruined it for everyone!
@@jonasquinn7977 Goddamn you Majima and your tax policy!
too real
Funny bit of info. The actual Yakuza approves of the series of games. The game creators went to the Yakuza for their blessing.
A cool parallel is how the Godfather movie was approved by the Italian mob and the director even gave the script to a mob boss in NY to make any necessary changes.
Idk if they went for their blessing, but it's like 3 high - ranking yakuza approving the game during an interview and they enjoyed the game a lot.
It's not like they went for their blessing, but they had 3 yakuza officers playing Yakuza 3, and they really liked the game and Kiryu's character (but they still criticized things, like Kiryu's choice of clothing, or the combat, since yakuza use guns or nearby objects, hardly ever using their fists, as well as people being so violent and picking fights with Kiryu every often)
That was only really the 3rd game and they were retired Yakuza
Yakuza 0 is absolutely one of my favourite games I’ve played in years. I even came to enjoy the cabaret club stuff, by the end. There’s so much side content it’s insane, ranging from serious to wacky af. 10/10, would gamble and do karaoke again.
Y'know, I feel Japanese games always have that strange dissonance in tones. It's amazing, like playing a fever dream.
Like some Gmod/SFM animations that you can watch across UA-cam.
It’s a good balance, main stories should be serious, and side content can be comedic.
When main stories play out like jokes, I feel disrespected, Yakuza 7 feels like it out sub story quality content in the main story.
@@Unknown-zn8cg It's like life. Not everything is humdrum and gloomy all the time. Crazy things can happen at any moment.

@@SargentGunnery And hilarious.
Okay, so I've got a couple things I want to clarify so that anyone that wants to play this isn't sacred off. The "in game p*rn" mentioned here is nothing but an assortment of short videos of women in bikinis, no n*duty whatsoever, and there's literally nothing forcing you to participate in it. Two, the "pimp mini game" is just running a club that employs a bunch of women to basically encourage customers to spend more money. While it does have some sexual stuff in it, nothing in Yakuza ever goes as far as the strip clubs in GTA or the s*x scenes in The Witcher games.
Yeah, the pimp one is basically just host club.
Why did they make Chinese Spider-Man look different in China? Cause China loooooves criticism from its most hated enemy: Japan.
Ruined his character tbh, the point of Chinese Spiderman is to be a guy who is internationally well known for his work as a hitman, to the point where even though he's from China he's even present in other places besides China, his ugliness isn't just because he's meant to be ugly, he's supposed to be an absolute monster, he's such a brutal, ruthless killer with not even a slight bit of humanity or morality, that he has gone ugly from being so unhuman.
Him being the sexiest being on earth kind of ruins his characterization, he should be long dick ugly, China zaaamn.
Actually it because they use Chinese famous actor as model for him to do the market in China.
They just wanted to market the game in China, so they modeled him after a famous Chinese actor, just like a good bunch of the cast of Yakuza 0, who are modeled after Japanese actors
Do play this on stream. It's hella fun both to play and to watch, and you'll easily get 50+ hours of content out of it!
200+ hrs man
On the topic of Max0r, a reaction/reactions to his Final Fantasy 15 "Review" would also be fun for this channel.
well the hostess are not prostitutes by any means, their job is to acompany the custommer but not in a sexual way, the costumers are not allowed to touch the girls, soaplands are the japanese brothel. of course if the girls wants to get private with a client they can do it but after work.
LETS GO MAXOR AND YAKUZA MY TWO FAVORITE THINGS
15:57 Because it's China. They would never allow even a single negative aspect to be associated with their country if they can stop it. So it was probably either "Make the Chinese guy look good in the Chinese version." or just don't sell the game in China at all.
Loved it thank you, kelsey
Please let her reaction to maxor doom eternal review among us edition please pretty please ❤️
Come on Kelsey, you're a voice actor, surely you know something about audio, at least enough to teach the editors how to not completely murder the mic track
in yakuza 5 theres a section where you play as haruka and shes training to be a popstar
Can yall react martincitopants battlefield 4 tactics tier list
Talking about the side content reminded me of a video FUNKe did on this game. Would recommend him. Especially his video about 'Music in Videogames' or either of the 'state of movement shooter' videos.
I'm late, but you're absolutely right!
A lot of the time, you can straight up ignore the story. The only instances where you have to do story, is when there are substories locked behind story chapters, or in some cases, the side-quest requires you to go somewhere that is currently occupied by a story event, so you can't go there
I love how you kept jumping the gun by about 5 seconds on your guesses.

I'm once again asking you to have Kelsey react to Goop & The Goop lab by JonTron
I know that weed is old but they should get someone to watch it 1-14
Yall should react to Super Eyepatch Wolf's video on yakuza.
Pretty sure the mic has a grudge against you
Also there is in fact a clan of Mr Shakedowns
hell yea
Dunno if this will be lost in the comments, her volume is too off bin comparison to the other video, even if one dials the volume high enough to properly hear the other video her own volume then explodes out of the speakers
we had a ton of construction going on in the upstairs office, so the tech folks had to put a ton of filters on our mics to get rid of most of the construction noise!
Yakuza has you upper cutting a tiger, what else do you need?

@@TheDragon2000s Opa! Então, os meus top 3 são:

2º Yakuza 0
3º Yakuza 5

You should watch some azsk videos
Can we get a reaction to bokoen1 hearts of iron 4 mp in a nutshell
Yo
If your going to react at least pause it to do so, talking over the video is bad when you can't hear what your reacting to.
Is nobody else seeing that maxor is just copying SsethTzeentach's style?
Not really, some of the parts in his reviews are similar like using freeze frames to insert memes and stuff, but Max0r actually has his own style.
Though I've also been saying that Max0r is just Sseth but with even more ADD, their humor style is different. Max0r tends to use more Reddit-style and post-ironic memes, while Sseth is more prone to dark/offensive humor especially when you consider that Sseth frequents 4chan.
he's not, but even if he was I wouldn't mind Sseth but less racist
Absolutely not. Both are making great content, and are different.
I can see the connection, but Sseth is more chaotic in terms of what he does in games while maxor is more chaotic in terms of editing
wrong, sseth is more focused on reviewing the games and maxor is, as he said it himself "entertainment first"
