As a Latino, i just got the good chills listening to JerBear singing a bit of spanish. Forever Grateful, Forever Dead ❤
Jerry was actually really good friends of Los Lobos, and there are LOTS of shows of them, with Jerry sitting in with them through the entire show. It was really awesome! I miss him so much...I would definitely trade all my tomorrows, for one single yesterday..not even a seconds hesitation.
Hell yea
I'd mount a male Donkey 🐴 if it meant I could go back in time and be there for this.
Seeing Jerry sing La Bamba sincs childhood dreams and adult dreams together perfectly
I was there….no one could believe Jerry did la Bambara…the movie had just come out
I was at this show. It was incredible as always :)
Wow. Jerry full blown recovered from his earlier health problems and playing and singing his ass off!
Uhh.....Hello.....Jerry and Bobby Kill it!!! Nothing left to do but....smile, smile, smile!
I'd been looking for this for almost 20 years!
I know it's like right when we thought we were out they suck ass back in with the ultra-clear shows and the soundboards
So happy for your finding 😅
Great memories, the dead at the Garden. Huge energy, lots of happy folks. Always remember cops around the show being very cool, some being cool on horseback. Pre and post show, bars packed for blocks. Pure fun. And that awesome music...
I was at all those garden shows so much electricity the band in there prime in 87 the best years of my life I love you guys and miss Jerry and Brent dearly. Thanks for the memories .
Bless
Another great moment in 1987, I almost "flew outta my seat" during this unexpected La Bamba nugget, this one got the floor to bounce at MSG , Morning Dew was also Great !
Great night to be in the garden ,the morning dew rocked also !
This was the first Dead show I downloaded. It got me on the bus. I'm not getting off.
This entire tour was in-fucking-credible. Five new songs and three or four Dylan tunes staying in the line up after summers insanity. 1987 fucking ripped!!!!! Devil with a Blue Dress, Good Golly Miss Molly, La Bamba, Hey Pocky Way and Fever. Thank you LOLO
Totally believe Jerry is the most underrated guitarist ever! I love to watch him play
😂
Beautiful music I will never get enough of the Grateful Dead never love always your Sunshine ✨ thank you for sharing this
I remember when the Grateful Dead hour would broadcast this stuff like two weeks after they did it live. Thank you David Gans. Was a most wondrous time in our lives. Jerry doing the Spanish lyrics? Come on. This is the shit.
I think this was the last time I ever took LSD and nothing could have topped this show (unless I had dosed on 9/20/90, but by then I was done with psychedelics). DEW!
Garcia playing with incredible enthusiasm, everyone really. I caught three in Providence on this tour. I'd love to see those come out. I was newbie tourhead of 18 way back when. Then it was off to Cali for the NYE run. This is just wonderful....
If it was not for the internet my ears, and heart, would sorely have less Dead
Quisiera que Jerry hubiera cantado más en español; un legado que apenas rozó. Pero gracias, gracias, gracias de todos modos. Qué linda y fuerte energía que nos hace tanta falta en estos días. Ahora nos toca a todos nosotros promoverla...
Felt like I was plugged into an electric socket while watching this live so many years ago. Big up for posting.🎶🙏
This was my first show, ticket courtesy of a good friend. Had a blast! I spent the next 5 years going to every show I could get tickets to and the time off for, including a couple JGB shows in Hawaii. =)
this is how I want to remember JerBear saw every show on this tour!
one of my all time favorites !! good lovin ...la bamba !!
I will always be grateful
thank you, thank you, thank you! i cant believe this is caught on film! thanks again loloyodel!
I was there!!!
Best live band in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
feels like yesterday i was at this run of shows, they were among my 1st years ...
... i can remember every note ...well, i also had the 'boot' for a few years..... lolol.. i wore it out)
4:54 is definitely a top 5 dead moment of all time
muy bueno.
hA!!! It certainly would be up there! That was amazing!
The crowd went cray
I remember the Deads early years at small venues in CT .The palace theater in Waterbury ,Colt Park , Dillion Stadium .The promoters would shut them down because they played too long !!!
There will never be a band that could play LIVE jams like the Dead . And in the late 60s , early 70s . If you wanted to listen to the Dead you were considered as an " outcast " or anti - establishment !!! Even though the people in office would pick up " bootlegs " and listen behind ' closed doors " But the Dead and their followers did more for peace than the government did . They " busted " dudes for possession , blotter acid ,window paine etc .You didn't need to get totally fucked up because the music would get you " high " At the time , who would ever thought that the Dead would become the greatest LIVE band that ever took the stage .Really their " trip " through the decades was unparalleled.Garcia was so vastly underated for his musical talents because he didn't play mainstream crap or rely on the " top 40s " to get noticed .Really though Jerry ,Ace , Bill ,Mickey et all gave you a musical experience that can never be duplicated . I know the surviving are pushing their 80s .Everything always comes to end in life . But ....their legacy will live on for ever .They encouraged folks to tape concerts ! Fortunately I have several of them .Some better than others ....You no longer have to be an " underground " fan ..Even though I miss those small venues . Their place in musical history won't ever be duplicated . There is " nothing quite like a attending a Dead concert " .Not just the music was appreciated ! The true Deadheads and followers always made those shows even better .As the Ripple song sez " Let there be songs ,to fill the air " Yeah really , " What a long strange trip its been " Garcia and Hunters lyrics were just unimaginable . and putting them to the music was unprecedented . I really never thought when I bought the Skeleton/ Roses album and really their call to " Deadheads " to join in would probably last a few years ...Never imagined to have endured this long over 6 decades !! I hope it goes on over forever . But the memories I have of the shows And friends I've met at them , are still close to me .Peace to all .Long live " the Dead " My grandkids are still playing the Vinyls ..of long ago . Puts a smile on my face .everytime when they ask me if it's OK to play them . It's fine because I have several unopened vinyls .....
The Garden wwas truly bouncing this night . I was at all 9 nites of this ass well as the 9 in boston garden. saweeeeeeeeeeetness
Man this was sooo good .. payed $115 bucks for this ticket .. seemed like a fortune at the time .. man this was money well spent .. chills and the Dew was amazing 😻
this is why I quit going to concerts. $115 is ridiculous. I love the Dead but that's grocery money man
That’s $300 in 2023 money for reference!
I was there. 😁
Easily in the top 10 greatest concerts I have ever attended in my life. Probably around number 5. :)
Yo Jason,
If you hated NYC after this show you must be from Boston. The town was alive afterward, the clubs hopped and we heads partied til dawn .Best two weeks of the "In The Dark" era.
The Dead always brought it up a notch in NYC IMHO
My favorite version that I've heard so far! Party on fellow Deadheads!
Bobby cracks me up gotta love him. Gimme gimme gimme good love!
Shake it, Jerry! Shake it!!
Gracias, Garcia!!!!!
So boss to see/hear Garcia doing La Bamba!
Just heard this on the Dead Channel then looked it up on the tubes . Nothing in life makes me feel better . Thanks
I think they played this three times on the Fall tour that year because the "La Bamba" movie was in theaters at the time. This was I believe the second time the GD played it. Just a little historical context from an old guy who was there.
Great show! Great night!
Had a bootleg tape of good.lovin. that spiralled like an icecream coned cerebrum melt with Phil bassing different songs and rythims before jamming back to good loving ...still looking...miss that tape..
The Morning Dew that follows is completely nuts.
Smoking hot. Just like other comments, David Gans would play this on FM like two weeks after on Dead head hour. The 80s ruled.
AMAZING!!
Lolo... I love you and your videos. Among my faves! ❤⚡💙
The verse before La Bamba Bobby tears up the vocals and Jerry loves it!!!!!
Triple like!!!!!!!!!!!
FiRE❤🔥
Fun. I think the 80’s are underrated. Bobby’s vocal’s around this time are incredible. IDK how he didn’t trash his pipes
"Soy Capitan"...Jerry
Soy capitan!
lol
I danced My as off
I love when they show the crowd because I look for myself. I was at all of the Spectrum shows too. Some of my friends were pissed about the La Bamba craze spreading to the Dead. To me it was quite happy and cool: para balair la bamba!
....just exactly perfect!
good lovin....😊🔯🗽✌♋😃
Perfection
This is groovy stuff, man! :)
R.I.P. Jerry Garcia.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
love this:)
RIP Ritchie
So sick!!!
I was at the dog oncologist today and had to fill in the date. I wrote 9-18... and then by habit, nearly wrote 87! Its 2018! That's how strong this show is. Highly recommended. It actually made me smile while dealing with a very serious issue.
I hope your dog got better
Ha! Yes! Thanks. He is going for his last Chemo treatment tomorrow and the doc says everything looks great and he'll likely get rid of all the cancer! @@michaels33
Legendary for Real.
Nice. this show is in the "30 Trips" box set
Bob's pretty legs!!!
My dad was here 3 rows back from Jerry
se necesita una pizca de grrrrrrraciiaaa
i wasnt at this show but they did the same thing at the spectrum in philly the same tour n i was at that show it was great
Thanks for posting! Was just listening to Good Lovin' (Radio City 10/31/80, someone else's upload), and Jerry's semi-La Bamba lead there made me come here for the real thing. Great quality sound and vid.
Check out the post in Italian from 10 months ago. Stefano L is saying (I think): "Check it out, this is when Bob Weir starting wearing bricklayer's shorts." or "mason's shorts," but we seem to have lost the distinction between masons and bricklayers in English.
Google translate says, "Here is when Bob Weir started wearing the mountaineering shorts!"
WOW, A+++++++++++++++
Not my Ritchie ❤❤❤❤
September 18th Albert's B day and going into Bamba lala saw Los Lobos open for them Monterey Bay speedway racetrack
I'm sure someone's said it before, but damn I wish I could have been alive to be a deadhead. My dad was, though, and it made me kinda sad when I saw the dead and company without him.
4:53 :)
Jerry in Nirvana...happy and content!
Damn Bobby's falsetto
Seriously?!?!!? Coke!!! Just kidding. Gots to love how they sing this with so much feeling and FUN
man i hope johno and bobby pull this one out either in the fall tour on the 4 shows im seeing or next year at fenway this would be a good closer at fenway
Nothing like the dead at Msg
🌈😎🌈
Soy Capitan ❤
Great set. I have the tape somewhere. Kinda funny - after the space jam, it's like they forgot they had any songs of their own.
WeirdErnie hey man they make these songs their own. They kinda have signature riffs they fall into in any jam and it's kinda cool. I mean, they change it up and all but they do some stuff in a lot of their jams
you forgot "Women are Smarter" after Shakedown. was an amazing show. I was 19
Bobby was definitely high during this dong
5:26 through ~ 5:32 ish, oy vey! God bless the GD.
Spectacular! Does anyone know how many other La Bambas the Dead ever performed?
5 times total including this performance
Jerry blew the lyrics!
Is this the concert where the Boston Celtics greats saw the dead live?
The song terrapin station in 11:29 sounds very "son jarocho" like is "the mamba" traditional music from Veracruz Mexico
Bobby's legs. Seriously.
Man, I was counting on you not to have mid-roll ads... Is it out of your control?
Jerry: Soy Capitan.
As much as I love Bobby, he just can't do the Good Lovin' rap like Pig used to do.
+Tim Bloemsaat totally different vibe, i like em both :)
what can one add???...
Capitan trips
E possibile! Una cosa, qui (dico, in America) non associamo quei pantaloncini con i muratori.
Try the Ka Chava
Who's the guy in the shorts?
Oh, Bobby! Cocaine is a hell of a drug, huh? lol
LOL
