I feel like it needs a refresh though. I spend most of my time in sport mode or competitive league races and I feel like a new game with some updated features in Sport can be a very nice addition. Another nice addition could be larger online grids (22-24) cars able to race allowing lots more variety into multi class racing

We need a proper single player mode, at least gt sport added more offline races later. GT7 however has the worst single player mode, they could’ve made the single player mode like in the gran turismo movie give us some story mode to complete some challenges. I know gt is never about the story but about cars, but driving the same circuit with same cars gets boring pretty soon. At least bring back the gt academy, where new players can learn ff, Fr, midship cars. This at least gave a sense of progression while playing alone.
@@harveygault4167would not work for road cars. BoP is not a perfomence system, gt sport had no pp system witch made all road cars pretty unbalanced and useless.
My GT8 Wish list - (A Physical 2 Disk set) - Disk 1 = "TRUE OFFLINE" SINGLE PLAYER CAREER MODE, starting with a budget used Car then upgrading / tuning of selected car, just like GT4 accomplished so beautifully, but now with Qualifying & Multiclass Racing Events, include every Track in GT history, including the lengendary Street Circuits. Drag Racing & Hill Climbing Special Events, Multiclass Endurance Events with Qualifying a option in every race. Adding a LAP OPTION from the standard & very short "2 lap race" up to say 6 laps would be perfect. The winning prize money would increase with each additional lap selected, same with clean lap bonus, additional prize money for fastest lap & qualifying times, etc.👌 Disk 2 = ONLINE MODE, Daily Races, including multi class races. Endurance Events, etc.
Since VR2 was launched I have spent alot of time exploring the cars. But I missing following: * open doors, trunk, windows * fiddle with my hand the buttons, opening windows, turn on radion, ac, shift gears by hand etc :) * change seats as passanger * rev the engine * observe multiple cars in the garage, even placing own cars/garage sets
My wishes 1- Multiplayer endurance races (driver swaps), 2- Multi-Level Sophy AI (Adjustable difficulty) to fill lobbies & reintroduce B-Spec (AI) driver swaps, 3- 30 car plus grids, 4- Proper story & progression based campaigned but most of all (at least for me) 5- an AI driving coach that will tell/teach me where I am going wrong with things like corner line, braking & accelerating points
I really want free-roam maps and traffic, assetto corsa style. We have so many non racing cars with no real use. It's the "real driving simulator" not just racing... and yet there is nowhere to just drive and enjoy the car in a normal road setting
What I'd like is the ability to make my own championships as a single player... eg.. 10 different randomly allicated tracks (Or as many as you choose), Grid start, against AI, With Quali, Championship Points Accumulation. That would be awesome. Imo. The possibilities are endless... Single car type champs, Euro Champs, American Champs, Japanese Champs, World Series, each with varied options for Power / PP level / vehicle class. ... They could even do this as an update or series of updates in GT7
I honestly believe we need an open world map Not all these paddocks and lobbies I mean, sure you can have your own private lobby But it would be nice to have a public Open world lobby where you can go to any city or any place in the world and drive there with your city cars And what would be even cooler is that you get penalties for breaking traffic laws Kind of like how in a real race you get a penalty for crossing the pit lines Or ignoring the speed limit on the track
GT8 I would like to see something in the game that if you’re over Rev your engine too long it blow the engine like it’s not like it’s blown or it gets overheated out of your engine too
The thing I would like to see most Lou is improved AI when you are lapping them! It can be infuriating sometimes. They often cut you off when trying to pass and at other times they stop to a crawl while in the racing line and you slam into the back of them.
For the improved AI thing, all the way back during GT Sport's lifespan, PD have been working with Sony AI to develop an AI called Sophy AI, which I believe is meant to replace the current AI in GT games. I do believe we'll see Sophy AI make a full-fledged debut into GT8.
Bring back cars from gt2 More tuning parts/options/custom parts A,I needs to be better. They're no different to D lobbies. Quli's for offline races A complete redo of the dirt driving physics Less rolling starts Team racing online (2 people to a team) Time limited bans on dirty drivers (to many hits and you're banned for an hour or so) More wheel options A better clean race bonus (some tracks just don't give you it) More race options with world circuits with decent payouts
GT8 Break when you put on your brakes, it fades out like you have to go in the pit to get them fixed. It’s another feature they should put in the game.
They definitely need to update/modify the wheel binding issue. It's impossible to lower some cars even just a few centimeters without the front wheels binding and not steering. It makes cars like the Sierra Cosworth for example almost useless.
I don’t think it’s a bug as much as a physical reality. You can def lower cars significantly.. You just have to compensate accordingly. If you want something completely slammed to the ground you can’t also expect it to turn very well
@@disast1ckup 110mm isn't completely slammed though. There are cars that even with wide body attached, sensible ride height and without the wide offset engaged will have their wheels binding during heavy breaking and high load corners. Also wheels dont just lock in place, you get rub etc. If you get rub you modify/roll the fenders.

Improved AI or no, I’d like them to ditch the notion of having to overtake everyone from the back and having only one true adversary to deal with. Starting last to win only means you have to take an OP car to do anything, and that’s no fun. It doesn’t improve me as a driver either. I remember going online for the first time and finally seeing how bad I was… Then I got better but career mode became boring. AI doesn’t really race, they just do their laps, like a chore.
The things that I want to see in GT8 are: 1. A few returning tracks from the previous titles such as GT3 or GT4. Either being a few city tracks or maybe a few asphalt or dirt tracks. 2. An improved endurance racing mode with maybe a FYC (Full course Yellow) Feature. And 3. A track maker like the one they had back in GT6.
Or, with the "mechanical damage" either ditch it completely or make it more adaptive to what happened to cause it. Dive bomb head on into a wall? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Opponent pushes you into a wall on the left side? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Take a left hand turn too fast and bounce off the wall on your right side? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Opponent dive bombs into your back bumper going into a turn. Hit nothing else? You bet your sweet ass the car is pulling slightly to the right until the next sector
ECU Tuning, drag racing, F1 Licence, free roam area, more drift circuits, music files upload for listening in-game, player-to-player used car trading, more classic tracks (apricot hill, special stage route)
1. Dirt build up: Yea dirt would be nice, not a priority for me but a welcome addition because it suits their level of detail. 2. Qualifying and grid starts: I was massively asking for this before GT7, I grew up with ALL of the gt games and the first game got it right, optional test/qualifying before EVERY race. At least with better AI it could be more viable. 3. Multi class racing: Yea would be nice but other priorities once again like the first point. 4. Improved AI: Talking about will they react to us - i went for a dive T1 at deep forest and the sophy ai moved out of my way to avoid me hitting their door, so yea it can be good and sophy may be the key to GT8. 5. Cosmetic damage: I used to want this, but in games where the bumper would be bent up for a slight tap annoyed me in games like Forza, its like going around a posh party with ketchup stains on your shirt - its just going to be more of a cringe than a focus. Another low priority for myself. Personally, take options 2 and 4 and get some good races and championships in GT8 (also have a lot more events so that all manner of cars have purpose, its like no one is working on the eventsor even career mode in gt7), Get rid of the roulette ticket stuff and linear career as well, make used car market available from the start and make it have a massive selection. Rags to riches is what most would want from a GT game because that's how it was built up. Bring back prize cars so that way the races feel more rewarding with less money than they do now without prize cars. Adding some AI to private lobbies would make the casual races with friends more fun. That paragraph is just a simple run down of what I think would help GT8. They looked at GT6 it seems for the current career mode and took flavours from the earlier games but it doesnt work like that. They NEED to listen for a change to the community and not Kaz. GT8 won't have the Cafe because he does it different every time, but will the next game be a hit and miss is a gamble we all have to deal with. (Special mention: they fcked up Grand valley and i'll stick by that, the whole track has that horrible slope geometry and some corners are in the wrong place, plus the theme should be a circuit track for a GRAND final, not some US coastal road.)
Love your enthusiasm! Totally agree about the used car market stuff and also whats with not being able to do engine swaps until level 50. Most people will never be able to use it.
@@MLDOGG I guess because in the first game for example, they had mid level cars rather than top of the line and they could flood each manufacturer used market with these cars, it helps to choose your own starting car and it can of course be tuned up. The new games tend to just have the flagship car trim of each model so may not work as well in newer games unless they add mid level trim cars. You could choose a nissan skyline '89 GTS-t Type M which could enter a skyline only race, an 80's race AND the FR races as an example and a great car to choose early on.
@@MLDOGG Used car dealership was in every manufacturer shop in the first game, They also didn't just have the top of the line model of each car like with the skyline example, they didnt just have the GTR but they had the GTS-t type m and even just a gts25, which didn't have a turbo. The choices available back then meant you could get through the game how you wanted. Engine swaps being new to the series it would've made having cars with smaller engines viable for better tuning. Take the vauxhall astra irl, you can use the vxr/gsi or have a 1.6 ls model, now imagine in GT8 they had an even series for 1.6l engines, you'd be able to take said astra in that race along with any other car that would've had a 1.6 in its line-up. Ford focus' used to have a 1.6 and so did the Citroen c2. not to mention the classic civics even the type R. Not saying they are adding these cars into GT8 but its a food for thought if they could add more than just the top 'trim' of each model and included a way to choose cars with smaller engine options would be great. I may have gone onto a more wishlist-y thing there, having a ton of used cars of varying ages, mileage and colours was a thing in the first game so you could choose a cheaper silvia Q over a more expensive one. Imagine if the used car market in GT8 could have plenty of cars with varying mileage etc then it could be possible to get a good car for cheap at some point (i think this was the case in GT4, along side finding some rare low mileage cars for a premium price that couldn't be bought from the new car dealer) If its a case of when to access engine swaps, then tbh I hadn't thought that through, but certainly not to leave it at the end of the game unless maybe engine swaps could come from old used cars you buy? hmm that could be an idea haha buy a newer silvia k used and remove the engine to be used as a swap engine for another car? Maybe that's just more wishful thinking. All i know is while Kaz is in charge, we'll get a new type or style of campaign every game and its a hit or miss on whether it's good. He made gt6's single player linear and the same with 7, he tends to make the game HE wants at the time at the expense of any catering to what fans of the game actually want. PC 1 and 2 was and still is the OG as far as in game single player progression. Weather, tracks and on and on. I'm a gt7 vr2 player, but still big up project cars when and where I can. Ok not so much project/reject cars 3 lol 👍🏁
Remember the random circuit generator? I don't remember, I think it was in GT5, it had a menu where you could generate a completely different circuit, with varying degrees of complexity. Even tho the AI was crap, it still was a lot of fun. Also, I do believe the next Gran Turismo should commit to building the game up, instead of leaving things on the cutting floor, as they say in the movie business. Meaning, instead of leaving legacy circuits out of the game, bring them ALL BACK. I want all of them back: Midfield Raceway, Complex Ring, Apricot Hill, Ascari (the rights may prove difficult on this one), Cathedral Rocks, Chamonix (bye now, I'm helping myself to a google search), Circuito de la Sierra, Circuito de Valencia (this one was in GT PSP), Madrid, Roma, Citta di Aria, Côte d'Azur (GT without Montecarlo is not deserving of the name) , Driving Park, Eiger Nordwand, El Capitán, George V Paris, Goodwood Hillclimb, Gran Turismo Arena, Grand Canyon, Grindelwald, Hadley Rille (ok, this one is kind of a stretch, and also a flex by Polyphony Digital), Hong Kong, Ice Arena, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, Kart Space (it's sad we have karts, but hardly any place to actually race them), Las Vegas Drag Strip, London, Matterhorn, Motorsports Land, New York, Opera Paris, PIKES PEAK (COME ON!), Rally Toscana, RED ROCK VALLEY SPEEDWAY, Rome Circuit, SEATTLE CIRCUIT, SEOUL CENTRAL, MF SILVERSTONE MAN (I realize Silverstone might just be too expensive to keep, but we can hope), SMOKEY MOUNTAIN, SPECIAL STAGE ROUTEs 5, 7, 11 AND X; Swiss Alps, Tahiti Circuit/Maze/Road, Tokyo Route 246, Top Gear Test Track (Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, United Kingdom is HOLY GROUND man), Twin Ring Motegi (I miss my Twin Ring Motegi). DAMN THAT WAS LONG. Those are all the circuits missing from Gran Turismo. I'm pretty sure if all of these circuits where included, it would be pushing game size well into 200 GB+ territory. But I would commit to it. Bringing GT Sophy into the mix would be nice as well. And some open world driving, maybe not racing, but educational and stuff. Make use of the signals.
Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a virtual spray booth and graphics studio where we could literally spray and apply graphics/liveries by hand using the VR headset and controllers. Also there are lots of other possibilities if they were to capitalise on the design studio part of the game. I see some amazing designs achieved with the current tools so imagine what those same guys including myself could do with a VR design studio. Even if it was a stand alone bolt on software suite for the Gran Turismo universe.
We don't need GT8 and even 9 or what ever number , Polyphony should focus on only 1 GT tilte per generation of console ( +/- 10 years ) soo that every GT becomes massive and not like the uncompleted GT5 GT6 GTSport and now 7 will be the same again, Since DLC was possible in the PS3 era in order to patch the game for more content, Gran Turismo was no longer needing an number in the title, polyphony should have only called GT5 only " Gran Turismo " and updating the game all the way of PS3 console era, GT6 should not even exist, next GTsport should be called " Gran Turismo " game release for PS4 era all the way updated until end of PS4 era, GT7 should be same name " Gran Turismo " again , updated all the way on the PS5 console era, and soo on and soo on for every next gen console release. my biggest disapointment about GT since GT3 but mostly since PS3 version GT6, is the amount of similar cars, 10x nissan 32GTR, 15x 33GT-R, 20x 34GT-R, 20x 35GT-R, same for fairlady models, same for some other brands, GT should add only minimum 1x maxumim 3x of all the GT cars from every era " like +/- 60 years of GT history + Hillclimb racing" adding cars that are since ever missing in GT, like all GT brands of 70's 80's 90's and so on + all time all cathegories Hillclimb race cars even those compact models like peugeot 106 maxi or citroen saxo VTS or AX GT cathegories with motorbike engines swaps. GT is missing models like all Opel Manta, Kadett, Astra, Tigra, btw remember they removed the Opel tigra ice race car ? others, Peugeot 106 Maxi, 405, 306 Maxi, ... Citroen Saxo VTS, AX GT... all Renault like 21 turbo, or also the Clio Williams version, all BMW old models like the 4WD E34 525XS model or the 90's. Somethimes i wish being able to boot a game like Gran Turismo and being able to choose whatever sport car from any era, but NO Polyponeys devs rather diluting the content with 30x similar cars of various models, obviously because it makes developpement easyer by using already builded car models and just tweaking a bit some HP weight or phisics, some GT titles had maybe reached 1000+ cars in garage, but if you remove all the duplicates, it was having less than maybe 400 different models. Including VW Kugelwagen and some other cars that nobody give a F. and never used. Gran Turismo exist since decades and it still dosen't understand what the game needs to be an authentic world of GT racing.
I would like to see a better force feedback for wheel users after playing iracing which is old asf incant go back to gt7 the only thing for me is force feedback if that would be better i would stay on gt7
@@MLDOGG The driving physics are better by a mile good Trail-Braking is getting rewarded in Iracing while in Gt7 its not the case the fastest drivers say that. and i like that in iracing that your driving can go over to the real world the feeling is just the same. In the other hand of course you can transfer gt7 driving to the real world but Iracing has its small details in everything and im not talking about graphics im talking about how the car behaves it feels more alive to me. I would love this for Gt7 i tried to come back last week but driving there felt like so dead ans boring il rather pay for Iracing and have a good experience. No hate against Gt7 for some people its the opposite but for me Iracing is nr.1 of all Sim Games out there.

I'd like to see the Amount of cars like the GT4 has had! A Thousand cars! I like the older cars as well as new. I think that GTs biggest advantage could be Lots of Cars in game. Like a book of cars. And also more cosmetic damage. And everything else you mentioned is right as well!
More old school American cars and a drag strip event. Sorry to many foreign cars in these games . All the racing is fun just need to add a little more to the game.
GT8 I like to see what’s put in the game is you can talk to other players by using voice text when he speaking the microphone it be much easier for some players you cannot type anything
I’d really love GT8 to keep the PSVR2 support… But I’d like to still be able to switch between POV cameras whilst using the PSVR2 headset… For those that don’t know… PSVR2 in GT7 locks you in cockpit view inside the car, for realism I assume… and it is great! However you can play other PS5 titles using the headset, including RPG’s from a third person perspective!… Basically it’s like seeing the normal game via an OLED TV, but you can increase and decrease the screen size to have it at your preferred ‘TV Size’… Including making the screen pretty bloody big like a (small) cinema screen! Sometimes I’d love to switch between camera views in GT7, whilst playing… So I can enjoy the graphical quality of the track, surroundings and weather etc, And view the game from chase cam etc (still utilising the PSVR2 on its ‘cinema screen’ setting) like you can when not playing via PSVR2. I hope that makes sense! 😂
To piggyback on @TheFalconerNZ's comment on driver swaps. Could you imagine a 6, 10, 12 or 24 hour endurance race (with stable servers/lobbies, of course) where you could have up to 4 drivers in each car? iRacing has had this feature for several years now (I know, PC release), but the technology should not be that difficult to transition to the console world. I bet you that PD already has worked this out, but will not release it, just like tracks that are ready to go have not been released either. I know of a particular track (first hand knowledge) here in the US that hosts a 12 hour race every Spring that has been scanned, not once, but twice, nearly two years ago.
@@MLDOGG Maybe….. I’m there every 8-10 weeks and one trip as I stepped out onto the balcony of the hotel that overlooks Turn 7 there was scanning going on. Asked the operations manager at the track as well as the guy who runs the track store the following day and he said it was a group scanning for a console based sim game, one that’s been around 25 years. He would not say the name. This was in August of 2022.
@@MLDOGG well, in his defense, he didn't say who it was, and I saw the scanning crews with my own eyes, so really it's not insider information. Hell, at release, people said I was crazy when I starting saying that we were getting Road Atlanta. Only reason I felt it was that there is a 1.5 second clip in the opening movie from Road Atlanta.
I just hope that I'm still alive when it gets released. Because With the normal speed from polypoly, it's definitely far into the future. In 2007 the showed the future of GT. It arrived 10 years later😅
The game has to perform on two different platforms, PS4 and 5. Thus making it difficult to adding new content to the game and having it run on both platforms well, while not compromising the game play.
Well I tell you what i want what i really really want, I wana i wana i wana Proper Offline Single Player Mode, Like they promised in Gran Turismo 7, And after i Paid £70 Quid for it i think it was, what Did we get, Online only, And they said they were going back to there roots to the old Gran Turismo Games. But we were lied to, What a waist of money that was, Pick a car Pick a track, Weather, How many laps and that's it, Great looking game though, but I wanted so much to be able to play the career mode, I was dead Exited man. Track creator like in previous versions, full single-player campaign like GT4, at least a small test drive track/neighborhood/city before spending credits on cars
2 improved ai is proably the most important aspect that gt7 needs to improve on. Next is 4 grid starts and qualifying i belive both those things will most likely happen with gt8 if the have sophy ai ready. I dont see it change much for gt7 sadly. 2nd most important thing would be a more proper single player career mode witch sadly we proably have to wait for gt8. Visual damage wont happen because of licencing. Gt7 is good game it just needs those little extra things to really shine. A good update is coming soon. But i would not mind if gt7 got extended and delivered a paid dlc that overhouled the game witch could extend its life quite a bit.

For is me the gran turismo 7 they should have a racing seats and racing tachometer dashboard and the custom racing roll cage cockpit and also the racing steering wheel for the customize option for the cars in the game.
not looking for an 8 just more updates to 7 but; continuing to expand the cars; not just duplicates of ones we already have; but ones we used to have but do not any longer. AW11 MR2, CR-Z, Trans Am Firehawk/WS6, etc. more tracks. bring back all GT classic tracks over time and more real world tracks. qualifying single player seasons more online race options with higher payouts and better tools to deal with dirty drivers (ignore and can't be matched for example) more engines/swap options that make sense; ex: 20B 3-rotor engine swaps for Mazdas (could make a Rob Dahm Pikes Peak special RX-7 to introduce it) a couple more high payout single player options; make both single player and online pay much more for the time invested here is what I want the player base to figure out ... how do they make money to support the updates and stuff long term? No monthly/quarterly fee/sub like an WoW or Destiny. They don't try to sell you car packs like other racing games. There really isn't much but cars or upgrades you would spend credits you can buy on ... and you can earn 1.5mil/hr; so why spend money, you'll eventually own multiple of everything you want anyway. How are they supposed to make money before they sell us GT8 that respects us? I'm willing to also request a lot, but know they aren't a charity. Do they help sustain from impatient people buying credits, sponsorships tickets from events, licensing fees to products like Fanatec, partners/brands investing, idk I'm stretching but I'm probably missing obvious stuff
Nr 1, no live service game, gt7 have terrible updates and no content to be wowed by. Nr 2, Grid start and better AI. Nr 3, get original tracks back. Nr 4, endurance races, not seen since GT5 insane. Nr5, get a good single player campaign back. GT7 does it so bad
GT7's biggest failing is it places too much emphasis on E-Sports, and MTX (Microtransactions). The first may be debatable, but the second is not. It's the reason the in-game economy is so scarce and resembles a mobile game in many respects. It makes people want to race LESS instead of more if the grind is unbearable. 20M for a virtual car? F-that! And to be clear, this is not saying every race should net you 1M credits. There is a balance many other racing games have achieved where they reward the players' time invest in both single races and overall playtime. A 30 minute custom race should be at minimum 450K, if cars are priced 20M. But they aren't because it's always been about forcing MTX vs. Being a fun, SP and MP racing game. This needs to change ASAP.
I want to See the Rolls-Royce Spectre in GT8 it is totally significant and If Economy does not change After Elections the Rolls-Royce Spectre and the Tesla Cybertruck and Model Y will Be the only 3 options to Drive Electric in 2035 i want to See Fantasy Cars like Rolls-Royce Cullinan Rallye-Version and even a Phantom Shooting Brake and a Rolls-Royce Wraith Rallye Car all Rolls-Royce should be in Gran Turismo 8 because of the 12 Cylinders

I think the tune up part of Gran Turismo is too generic. There should be tune up variations that differ between nations. More specific tuning features would bring finer dynamics to players cars and make them more unique to each player. There are also cars that you can buy or win that have no race track value, meaning that there are no specific race tracks designed to race these cars on, for instance the PP 1398.51 Dodge SRT Tomahawk X VGT and the PP 999.21 Jaguar VGT SV. Also, for the sake of realism, if your car hits the wall hard enough it should be made undriveable and not be able to finish the race. Then there should be a more elaborate repair feature added to the game to fix the car that became disabled in the race.

I feel like it needs a refresh though. I spend most of my time in sport mode or competitive league races and I feel like a new game with some updated features in Sport can be a very nice addition.
Another nice addition could be larger online grids (22-24) cars able to race allowing lots more variety into multi class racing

We need a proper single player mode, at least gt sport added more offline races later. GT7 however has the worst single player mode, they could’ve made the single player mode like in the gran turismo movie give us some story mode to complete some challenges. I know gt is never about the story but about cars, but driving the same circuit with same cars gets boring pretty soon. At least bring back the gt academy, where new players can learn ff, Fr, midship cars. This at least gave a sense of progression while playing alone.
PP still needs to be included because otherwise it will not work to balance your cars

My GT8 Wish list - (A Physical 2 Disk set)
- Disk 1 = "TRUE OFFLINE" SINGLE PLAYER CAREER MODE, starting with a budget used Car then upgrading / tuning of selected car, just like GT4 accomplished so beautifully, but now with Qualifying & Multiclass Racing Events, include every Track in GT history, including the lengendary Street Circuits. Drag Racing & Hill Climbing Special Events, Multiclass Endurance Events with Qualifying a option in every race.
Adding a LAP OPTION from the standard & very short "2 lap race" up to say 6 laps would be perfect. The winning prize money would increase with each additional lap selected, same with clean lap bonus, additional prize money for fastest lap & qualifying times, etc.👌
Disk 2 = ONLINE MODE, Daily Races, including multi class races. Endurance Events, etc.

Since VR2 was launched I have spent alot of time exploring the cars. But I missing following:
* open doors, trunk, windows
* fiddle with my hand the buttons, opening windows, turn on radion, ac, shift gears by hand etc :)
* change seats as passanger

* observe multiple cars in the garage, even placing own cars/garage sets
A Cockpit view like in Need for Speed Shift 2 is all what i want. Even just watching it pumped adrenalin into my blood

My wishes 1- Multiplayer endurance races (driver swaps), 2- Multi-Level Sophy AI (Adjustable difficulty) to fill lobbies & reintroduce B-Spec (AI) driver swaps, 3- 30 car plus grids, 4- Proper story & progression based campaigned but most of all (at least for me) 5- an AI driving coach that will tell/teach me where I am going wrong with things like corner line, braking & accelerating points

I really want free-roam maps and traffic, assetto corsa style. We have so many non racing cars with no real use. It's the "real driving simulator" not just racing... and yet there is nowhere to just drive and enjoy the car in a normal road setting

What I'd like is the ability to make my own championships as a single player... eg.. 10 different randomly allicated tracks (Or as many as you choose), Grid start, against AI, With Quali, Championship Points Accumulation. That would be awesome. Imo.
The possibilities are endless... Single car type champs, Euro Champs, American Champs, Japanese Champs, World Series, each with varied options for Power / PP level / vehicle class.

The thing I would like to see most Lou is improved AI when you are lapping them! It can be infuriating sometimes. They often cut you off when trying to pass and at other times they stop to a crawl while in the racing line and you slam into the back of them.

For the improved AI thing, all the way back during GT Sport's lifespan, PD have been working with Sony AI to develop an AI called Sophy AI, which I believe is meant to replace the current AI in GT games. I do believe we'll see Sophy AI make a full-fledged debut into GT8.

GT8 Break when you put on your brakes, it fades out like you have to go in the pit to get them fixed. It’s another feature they should put in the game.
Brake fade is a cooling problem, so in that respect, we should have the ability to adjust brake duct cooling. Nice idea. 👍

They definitely need to update/modify the wheel binding issue. It's impossible to lower some cars even just a few centimeters without the front wheels binding and not steering. It makes cars like the Sierra Cosworth for example almost useless.

I don’t think it’s a bug as much as a physical reality. You can def lower cars significantly.. You just have to compensate accordingly. If you want something completely slammed to the ground you can’t also expect it to turn very well

There are cars that even with wide body attached, sensible ride height and without the wide offset engaged will have their wheels binding during heavy breaking and high load corners. Also wheels dont just lock in place, you get rub etc. If you get rub you modify/roll the fenders.
1999 & 1998 subaru & Gr.3 1995 mclaren have same issue can't lower front all the way down otherwise it catches onto the bodywork & not corner at all.

Improved AI or no, I’d like them to ditch the notion of having to overtake everyone from the back and having only one true adversary to deal with. Starting last to win only means you have to take an OP car to do anything, and that’s no fun. It doesn’t improve me as a driver either. I remember going online for the first time and finally seeing how bad I was… Then I got better but career mode became boring. AI doesn’t really race, they just do their laps, like a chore.

The things that I want to see in GT8 are:
1. A few returning tracks from the previous titles such as GT3 or GT4. Either being a few city tracks or maybe a few asphalt or dirt tracks.
2. An improved endurance racing mode with maybe a FYC (Full course Yellow) Feature.
And 3. A track maker like the one they had back in GT6.

Or, with the "mechanical damage" either ditch it completely or make it more adaptive to what happened to cause it. Dive bomb head on into a wall? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Opponent pushes you into a wall on the left side? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Take a left hand turn too fast and bounce off the wall on your right side? Pulls slightly to the right until the next sector. Opponent dive bombs into your back bumper going into a turn. Hit nothing else? You bet your sweet ass the car is pulling slightly to the right until the next sector
ECU Tuning, drag racing, F1 Licence, free roam area, more drift circuits, music files upload for listening in-game, player-to-player used car trading, more classic tracks (apricot hill, special stage route)
1. Dirt build up: Yea dirt would be nice, not a priority for me but a welcome addition because it suits their level of detail.
2. Qualifying and grid starts: I was massively asking for this before GT7, I grew up with ALL of the gt games and the first game got it right, optional test/qualifying before EVERY race. At least with better AI it could be more viable.
3. Multi class racing: Yea would be nice but other priorities once again like the first point.
4. Improved AI: Talking about will they react to us - i went for a dive T1 at deep forest and the sophy ai moved out of my way to avoid me hitting their door, so yea it can be good and sophy may be the key to GT8.
5. Cosmetic damage: I used to want this, but in games where the bumper would be bent up for a slight tap annoyed me in games like Forza, its like going around a posh party with ketchup stains on your shirt - its just going to be more of a cringe than a focus. Another low priority for myself.
Personally, take options 2 and 4 and get some good races and championships in GT8 (also have a lot more events so that all manner of cars have purpose, its like no one is working on the eventsor even career mode in gt7), Get rid of the roulette ticket stuff and linear career as well, make used car market available from the start and make it have a massive selection. Rags to riches is what most would want from a GT game because that's how it was built up. Bring back prize cars so that way the races feel more rewarding with less money than they do now without prize cars. Adding some AI to private lobbies would make the casual races with friends more fun.
That paragraph is just a simple run down of what I think would help GT8. They looked at GT6 it seems for the current career mode and took flavours from the earlier games but it doesnt work like that. They NEED to listen for a change to the community and not Kaz. GT8 won't have the Cafe because he does it different every time, but will the next game be a hit and miss is a gamble we all have to deal with.
(Special mention: they fcked up Grand valley and i'll stick by that, the whole track has that horrible slope geometry and some corners are in the wrong place, plus the theme should be a circuit track for a GRAND final, not some US coastal road.)
Love your enthusiasm! Totally agree about the used car market stuff and also whats with not being able to do engine swaps until level 50. Most people will never be able to use it.
@@MLDOGG I guess because in the first game for example, they had mid level cars rather than top of the line and they could flood each manufacturer used market with these cars, it helps to choose your own starting car and it can of course be tuned up. The new games tend to just have the flagship car trim of each model so may not work as well in newer games unless they add mid level trim cars. You could choose a nissan skyline '89 GTS-t Type M which could enter a skyline only race, an 80's race AND the FR races as an example and a great car to choose early on.
Are you talking in regard to used car dealership or engine swaps?
@@MLDOGG Used car dealership was in every manufacturer shop in the first game, They also didn't just have the top of the line model of each car like with the skyline example, they didnt just have the GTR but they had the GTS-t type m and even just a gts25, which didn't have a turbo. The choices available back then meant you could get through the game how you wanted. Engine swaps being new to the series it would've made having cars with smaller engines viable for better tuning.
Take the vauxhall astra irl, you can use the vxr/gsi or have a 1.6 ls model, now imagine in GT8 they had an even series for 1.6l engines, you'd be able to take said astra in that race along with any other car that would've had a 1.6 in its line-up. Ford focus' used to have a 1.6 and so did the Citroen c2. not to mention the classic civics even the type R. Not saying they are adding these cars into GT8 but its a food for thought if they could add more than just the top 'trim' of each model and included a way to choose cars with smaller engine options would be great.
I may have gone onto a more wishlist-y thing there, having a ton of used cars of varying ages, mileage and colours was a thing in the first game so you could choose a cheaper silvia Q over a more expensive one. Imagine if the used car market in GT8 could have plenty of cars with varying mileage etc then it could be possible to get a good car for cheap at some point (i think this was the case in GT4, along side finding some rare low mileage cars for a premium price that couldn't be bought from the new car dealer)
If its a case of when to access engine swaps, then tbh I hadn't thought that through, but certainly not to leave it at the end of the game unless maybe engine swaps could come from old used cars you buy? hmm that could be an idea haha buy a newer silvia k used and remove the engine to be used as a swap engine for another car? Maybe that's just more wishful thinking.
All i know is while Kaz is in charge, we'll get a new type or style of campaign every game and its a hit or miss on whether it's good. He made gt6's single player linear and the same with 7, he tends to make the game HE wants at the time at the expense of any catering to what fans of the game actually want.

Remember the random circuit generator? I don't remember, I think it was in GT5, it had a menu where you could generate a completely different circuit, with varying degrees of complexity. Even tho the AI was crap, it still was a lot of fun. DAMN THAT WAS LONG. Those are all the circuits missing from Gran Turismo. I'm pretty sure if all of these circuits where included, it would be pushing game size well into 200 GB+ territory. But I would commit to it.

And some open world driving, maybe not racing, but educational and stuff. Make use of the signals.

Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a virtual spray booth and graphics studio where we could literally spray and apply graphics/liveries by hand using the VR headset and controllers.
Also there are lots of other possibilities if they were to capitalise on the design studio part of the game. I see some amazing designs achieved with the current tools so imagine what those same guys including myself could do with a VR design studio. Even if it was a stand alone bolt on software suite for the Gran Turismo universe.
We don't need GT8 and even 9 or what ever number , Polyphony should focus on only 1 GT tilte per generation of console ( +/- 10 years ) soo that every GT becomes massive and not like the uncompleted GT5 GT6 GTSport and now 7 will be the same again,
Since DLC was possible in the PS3 era in order to patch the game for more content, Gran Turismo was no longer needing an number in the title, polyphony should have only called GT5 only " Gran Turismo " and updating the game all the way of PS3 console era, GT6 should not even exist, next GTsport should be called " Gran Turismo " game release for PS4 era all the way updated until end of PS4 era, GT7 should be same name " Gran Turismo " again , updated all the way on the PS5 console era, and soo on and soo on for every next gen console release.
my biggest disapointment about GT since GT3 but mostly since PS3 version GT6, is the amount of similar cars, 10x nissan 32GTR, 15x 33GT-R, 20x 34GT-R, 20x 35GT-R, same for fairlady models, same for some other brands,
GT should add only minimum 1x maxumim 3x of all the GT cars from every era " like +/- 60 years of GT history + Hillclimb racing" adding cars that are since ever missing in GT,
like all GT brands of 70's 80's 90's and so on + all time all cathegories Hillclimb race cars even those compact models like peugeot 106 maxi or citroen saxo VTS or AX GT cathegories with motorbike engines swaps.
GT is missing models like all Opel Manta, Kadett, Astra, Tigra, btw remember they removed the Opel tigra ice race car ?

Somethimes i wish being able to boot a game like Gran Turismo and being able to choose whatever sport car from any era, but NO Polyponeys devs rather diluting the content with 30x similar cars of various models, obviously because it makes developpement easyer by using already builded car models and just tweaking a bit some HP weight or phisics,
some GT titles had maybe reached 1000+ cars in garage, but if you remove all the duplicates, it was having less than maybe 400 different models.
Including VW Kugelwagen and some other cars that nobody give a F. and never used.

@@MLDOGG The driving physics are better by a mile good Trail-Braking is getting rewarded in Iracing while in Gt7 its not the case the fastest drivers say that. and i like that in iracing that your driving can go over to the real world the feeling is just the same. In the other hand of course you can transfer gt7 driving to the real world but Iracing has its small details in everything and im not talking about graphics im talking about how the car behaves it feels more alive to me. I would love this for Gt7 i tried to come back last week but driving there felt like so dead ans boring il rather pay for Iracing and have a good experience. No hate against Gt7 for some people its the opposite but for me Iracing is nr.1 of all Sim Games out there.

Basically it’s like seeing the normal game via an OLED TV, but you can increase and decrease the screen size to have it at your preferred ‘TV Size’… Including making the screen pretty bloody big like a (small) cinema screen!
Sometimes I’d love to switch between camera views in GT7, whilst playing… So I can enjoy the graphical quality of the track, surroundings and weather etc,
And view the game from chase cam etc (still utilising the PSVR2 on its ‘cinema screen’ setting) like you can when not playing via PSVR2.

To piggyback on @TheFalconerNZ's comment on driver swaps. Could you imagine a 6, 10, 12 or 24 hour endurance race (with stable servers/lobbies, of course) where you could have up to 4 drivers in each car? iRacing has had this feature for several years now (I know, PC release), but the technology should not be that difficult to transition to the console world. I bet you that PD already has worked this out, but will not release it, just like tracks that are ready to go have not been released either. I know of a particular track (first hand knowledge) here in the US that hosts a 12 hour race every Spring that has been scanned, not once, but twice, nearly two years ago.

@@MLDOGG Maybe….. I’m there every 8-10 weeks and one trip as I stepped out onto the balcony of the hotel that overlooks Turn 7 there was scanning going on. Asked the operations manager at the track as well as the guy who runs the track store the following day and he said it was a group scanning for a console based sim game, one that’s been around 25 years. He would not say the name. This was in August of 2022.

@@MLDOGG well, in his defense, he didn't say who it was, and I saw the scanning crews with my own eyes, so really it's not insider information. Hell, at release, people said I was crazy when I starting saying that we were getting Road Atlanta. Only reason I felt it was that there is a 1.5 second clip in the opening movie from Road Atlanta.

The game has to perform on two different platforms, PS4 and 5. Thus making it difficult to adding new content to the game and having it run on both platforms well, while not compromising the game play.

2 improved ai is proably the most important aspect that gt7 needs to improve on. Next is 4 grid starts and qualifying i belive both those things will most likely happen with gt8 if the have sophy ai ready.
I dont see it change much for gt7 sadly.
2nd most important thing would be a more proper single player career mode witch sadly we proably have to wait for gt8.
Visual damage wont happen because of licencing.
Gt7 is good game it just needs those little extra things to really shine.

here is what I want the player base to figure out ... how do they make money to support the updates and stuff long term? No monthly/quarterly fee/sub like an WoW or Destiny. They don't try to sell you car packs like other racing games. There really isn't much but cars or upgrades you would spend credits you can buy on ... and you can earn 1.5mil/hr; so why spend money, you'll eventually own multiple of everything you want anyway.
How are they supposed to make money before they sell us GT8 that respects us?
I'm willing to also request a lot, but know they aren't a charity. Do they help sustain from impatient people buying credits, sponsorships tickets from events, licensing fees to products like Fanatec, partners/brands investing, idk I'm stretching but I'm probably missing obvious stuff

I have a tgt-2 and it seems to control the drivers you have a thrustmaster to can you change yours?
I think ive changed it before for AC, used thrustmaster software i believe. It should be made a lot easier though.
Nr 1, no live service game, gt7 have terrible updates and no content to be wowed by. Nr 2, Grid start and better AI. Nr 3, get original tracks back. Nr 4, endurance races, not seen since GT5 insane. Nr5, get a good single player campaign back. GT7 does it so bad
GT7's biggest failing is it places too much emphasis on E-Sports, and MTX (Microtransactions). The first may be debatable, but the second is not. It's the reason the in-game economy is so scarce and resembles a mobile game in many respects. It makes people want to race LESS instead of more if the grind is unbearable. 20M for a virtual car? F-that! And to be clear, this is not saying every race should net you 1M credits. There is a balance many other racing games have achieved where they reward the players' time invest in both single races and overall playtime. A 30 minute custom race should be at minimum 450K, if cars are priced 20M. But they aren't because it's always been about forcing MTX vs. Being a fun, SP and MP racing game. This needs to change ASAP.

PLAYABLE OFFLINE!!, better AI, more freedom at racing events, qualification+start/rolling start (always starting last is stupid), more freedom with the HUD (standard bar at the bottom is annoying, covers half of the cockpit...), better weather system on all tracks, 50 to 75% less effort to collect credits
I think the tune up part of Gran Turismo is too generic. There should be tune up variations that differ between nations. More specific tuning features would bring finer dynamics to players cars and make them more unique to each player. There are also cars that you can buy or win that have no race track value, meaning that there are no specific race tracks designed to race these cars on, for instance the PP 1398.51 Dodge SRT Tomahawk X VGT and the PP 999.21 Jaguar VGT SV. Also, for the sake of realism, if your car hits the wall hard enough it should be made undriveable and not be able to finish the race. Then there should be a more elaborate repair feature added to the game to fix the car that became disabled in the race.
