This is not an accurate version of history at all. You "forgot" to mention about what Western catholics did when they conquered Constantinopol and Agia Sofia. When they said that they want to fight the Muslims, but ended taking and destroying Constantinopol, and plundering the city.

The Venetians are the ones who attacked and looted. The Pope had talked the Doge of Venice into building a fleet (and completely outfitting it down to weapons, armpit and horses), and it bankrupted the city when the Crusaders decided not to board the ships, but go by land. The Venetians were supposed to target Alexandria, Egypt, but they decided to lay siege to Constantinople. According to the written account by Michael DeClary (who took home Christ’s burial shroud, that was later given to the Cathedral in Turin), when the Venetians put their siege tower against the first tower, the Empire’s finest abandoned their post and did not engage. The Venetians, unchallenged opened the city gates.
No argument that the looting of Constantinople is an epic tragedy.
The Venetians victory weakened the Empirre to such a degree that historians attribute the eventual Fall to the Muslims to the fall of the City to the Venetians.

Constantinople had withstood eight Islamic sieges; it was not until the Venetian Sack of Constantinople, looting its relics, manuscripts, artisans and wealth, that Constantinople fell to the Ottomans. The Venetians took the City in 1204 and it never recovered its former glory; the Ottomans took the City in 1453.

Hagia Sophia grand Cathedral, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the Seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in the early Byzantine Empire for almost ten centuries (Head of the Greek Orthodox Church and Eastern Orthodoxy), situated now in the Greek district of St. George’s Cathedral in Constantinople.
Hagia Sophia was succeeded by the Church of the Holy Apostles (1453-1456), Pammakaristos Church (1456-1587), Church of the Panagia Paramythia (1587-1597), Church of St. Demetrius Xyloportas (1597-1601) and finally St. George Cathedral to this day. A continuous presence of Greek Orthodoxy and culture, a universal heritage and legacy, the unique Byzantine Architecture and music (Chants) that were developed in the Byzantine Empire are a treasure for humanity.
Christian tourists, not only Orthodox, may also visit the Chora Church, famous for its outstanding Late Byzantine mosaics and frescos.
The Sumela Monastery in the Pontic Mountains (Tentative UNESCO World Heritage Site), standing since 386 AD, is one other masterpiece of Byzantine Architecture and a sacred religious monument for us Greeks.

Some people have a tendency to dumb-down history, events and concepts. To simplify things does not mean you have to distort it. Constantine was no Byzantine emperor. He was a Roman emperor. In history there was no Byzantine empire, only the Western and Eastern Roman empire. The Byzantine empire was a creation of 17th century western historians. Constantine was also not a Eastern Roman emperor, because in his time there was no two Romes, he just moved the capital to the city he named after himself, which was in what was then Byzantium.

Happy to see Αγία Σοφία well maintained and the removal of entrance fees to make this great temple accessible to the public. People of all cultures and religions should marvel at its beauty.
But I must ask a sincere question here:
Given the fact this Church was built with purpose as a place of worship and symbol for Christianity and specifically Orthodoxy, as well as the fact it has stood for over 900 years as a Christian church, shouldn’t this be reverted back to a neutral temple? I understand it is now Turkey and the temple is here, but to cover away and hide the Christian symbolism and ethos of this church so that it can be turned in to a Mosque almost feels fake and tarnishes the heritage of the church. Don’t we build better relations and corporate better with people by finding a middle ground for our differences?

What was the reason that compelled all to flee to the Great Church? They had been listening, for many years, to some pseudo-soothsayers, who had declared that the city was destined to be handed over to the Turks, who would enter in large numbers and would massacre the Romans as far as the Column of Constantine the Great. After this an angel would descend, holding his sword. He would hand over the kingdom, together with the sword, to some insignificant, poor, and humble man who would happen to be standing by the Column. He would say to him: "Take this sword and avenge the Lord's people." Then the Turks would be turned back, would be massacred by the pursuing Romans, and would be ejected from the city and from all places in the west and the east and would be driven as far as the borders of Persia, to a place called the Lone Tree …. That was the cause for the flight into the Great Church. In one hour that famous and enormous church was filled with men and women. An innumerable crowd was everywhere: upstairs, downstairs, in the courtyards, and in every conceivable place. They closed the gates and stood there, hoping for salvation.

A miracle for those who wish to see how did a person who couldn’t read or write in the middle of the desert with little or no resources predict a victory against two of the greatest superpowers and describe the man who would conquer the city of Constantinople and describe his army . You mix so much the history of the existing building ( a masterpiece of world’s architecture), with the 2 churches that were situated at the same place for little time and were not so important historically , and architecturally. So the listener doesn’t make any sense, watching the actual building and listening for more than the half time about the not important time if 200 years when the other 2 churches were there., 3) upper level: women, lower level: men. That simple. Etc etc etc
