    I can’t wait to get one. So many projects with fabric and wood I want to do.

    Really cool to see the insides of a co2 galvo! I guess that poor column will have to support a lot more weight ;-) Couple things. 1) Try thermal receipt or fax paper instead of the tape. I have been paranoid about using sticky tape to align CO2s ever since the idiots that supplied my cutter (flatbed) placed tape literally only a mm away from the mirrors and crapped them up during alignment. Thermal paper will blacken nicely long before it burns, no smoke/fumes or anything. 2) Instead of having to work out a hatch to keep the laser on a certain length of time, much easier is to use the test laser dialog. It's under Param (F3) -> Laser Control -> Test laser and it'll give you options of how long to pulse for, power level etc. I've used it quite a bit in testing out the fiber laser. Just realised, I'm assuming that EzCad still _has_ that option when it's configured for a RF CO2 instead of a fiber, maybe it doesn't.

      LINDSAY with the freaking pro tips! Thermal paper is so fucking smart nice work! Also thanks for the tip on test laser! I try not to mess around in F3 if I don't have to hahah but knowing that is there will really help going forward! I believe it still has that option I just didn't think to use it. Very very smart suggestions Lindsay thank you for sharing :D

    Hello do you have any idea about lens co2 for marking tube glass. The system how is itvwork?

    Very nice explanation, however I do have to disagree a bit with your statement that it wont matter how big you draw that circle. If you drew say a 25mm circle it would have a much larger marking area equating to a much larger laser on time, just think of the difference it would take to complete one job vs the other if the galvo was attached. As a result you are going to have the laser on for a much longer period of time, and therefore you will burn a much bigger spot in the tape? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

      I absolutely agree with you that was kind of the point I was trying to make at the end of that demo section about if you need the laser to run longer a larger circle will do that, if it's running too long and burning through the tape try a smaller circle instead.
      What I was trying to say is that changing the size of the circle will not change the dot size that appears on the tape during testing :P Sorry for the confusion - I probably could have worded things better but we agree on the sentiment.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  3 роки тому

      At some point the tape is just going to catch on fire which is going to burn out from the center a larger hole I suppose but the dot size of the beam isn't changing which was more the point I was attempting to make. Totally get where you're coming from. Once the tape catches on fire the dot size isn't really relevant anymore because the burn spot is just going to grow as the fire spreads.

      @@LaserEverything Yeah, I paused and commented too soon, then watched the rest and felt dumb because you did state it in alternative terms that I agreed with later in the video. I was just thrown off at the beginning when you said you could make the circle as big as the marking field and it would not mater. Classic case of I should have watched the rest of the vid, my bad .

    Hello Alex, Great Video!! Thanks for sharing, Im new to this and I would like to ask you, What type of problems are usually noticeable when the galvo is not Aligned?
    I'm asking this because there is so many adjustments and I been struggling to get it adjusted properly and accurate my machine

    Thanks again Bud!

      Alignment is a bit different on fiber but you can see a variety of issues like your square workspace being rotated at an angle or the workspace being too high or low on the work bed to see the entire field (fading at the edges). It's important to have your machine aligned but also easy to make it way way worse - so be careful!

    Can you do an alignment video for a fiber laser? My 50w does not mark evenly. The left side of the image looks like it was marked at a different power level than the right side. It's been this way since new so I'm thinking (hoping) it's an alignment issue. Thank you!

    I have a CO2 galvo that the RF tube is mounted vertically in the back, two mirrors up top return the beam down to the z axis carriage mirror, which is behind the galvo head... The mount plate for the laser needed to be swapped out due to bad machining and no rigid laser mount. Now that i have done this, it is proving difficult to align again, Going to attempt again today. Any chance you've got a vid for this already?

    • @LaserEverything

      I've not messed with a vertically mounted tube unfortunately. Never seen one myself. Interesting setup.

    hi alex what do you prefer? co2 galvo or fiber what is much usefull when it comes to small business thank you bro

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому +1

      CO2 galvo has very specific uses like tumblers or wood projects where you have a VERY large volume. The fiber in general is much more versatile but doesn't work well with organics. If you're just getting started I'd probably start with a fiber.

  • @artbircncveelektronikservi6047

    Dear friend
    I have this rf co2 tube too. It belongs to the laser marking machine. The machine scanner and red point part are working but it does not write on the wood, I measured the pwm signal coming to the tube with an oscilloscope.
    How measure tube? Thanks

      This is a bit too technical to tackle in the comments section here, and would be best to start a support thread in one of our communities (linked in the description). The community members and staff can work together to try and help troubleshoot what's going on.

      Hard to say without more info. It’s possible if it’s only marking one spot continuously for the length of the engrave and not moving, the galvo head my not be receiving power, or instructions to move from the controller, or maybe even a galvo motor issue. I would start troubleshooting in that direction, but if you need some additional eyes and opinions, join any of our communities in the description and create a forum post so we can have a deeper dive with the community

    Is it possible to convert a c02 to use galvo ? An older xy rails laser?

    • @LaserEverything

      Probably possible, unlikely to be cost effective or particularly efficient. I'd probably recommend getting a new machine at that point
