‘Our parent’ who art in heaven: Church of England consider gender-neutral terms for God

  • There is no point in starting the Lord’s prayer with “our father” if the Church of England go through with using gender-neutral language when referring to God, says Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
    “If God is deemed to be gender-neutral, what is the starting to the Lord’s prayer?” Mr Morgan asked Christian Activist Symon Hill.
    “The Lord’s prayer is the most important prayer of all.
    “When I hear it might be ‘our parent who art in heaven’ or ‘our mother who art in heaven’, I got to tell you my mother, a Catholic watching this at home will be throwing stuff at the screen.”
