I'm originally from Bloomington Normal and still have a lot of family there. I've been in Tampa since 92. So I remember as a kid taking the American Eagle ATR-42 to Chicago then down to Tampa. I also used to enjoy the Air Tran 717 in the 2000s. Now I usually take Delta from Tampa to Atlanta on the 757 then the CRJ-700 and 900 up to Bloomington.
Much of my childhood was seeing AirTran at BMI in addition to flying Delta and Frontier! I was looking at older schedules and it's a shame how many flights used to come in back in the early 2000s. Today is nowhere near the same.
I fly PIA-IWA frequently and its very interesting how that flight is always full on allegiant. Christmas time the a320 makes an appearance everyday for almost 3 weeks in a row
At 10:32 basically an extension of Omaha almost and the safe haven airport if something were to happen to Omaha (tornado on April 26th damaged a GA hangar at OMA but nothing else)
My grandparents have lived near BMI Airport for over 25 years. I’ve lived in the Chicagoland area for 15 years. You have no idea how desperate I am to try American’s ORD-BMI service just for the fun of it. I have never flown out of this airport before but I really really want to. Great trip report!
If it wasn’t clear, I want to fly down there to visit them even though I know I could be there in less than 3 hours by car. Just the experience, you know?
Frontiers 321s are pretty uncomfortable compared to the 321neos which have the new design seats and more legroom. Those air stair gates in Denver will be interesting when there is snow or lightning.
I’m actually surprised how a regional airport can fit an A321, but also I’m not surprised considering the length of the runways. Still seems odd how they can cater an A321 out of such a small airport.
I have a flight booked at the end of the month on frontier in seat 30A. Hope it stays a a321 Neo aircraft they seem to change aircraft’s a lot have had this happen to me a handful of times before
I think the A321 is a better fit out of MDW or ORD than Bloomington. I flew one on Frontier from LAS to PHX and the flight was not full. They had to move passengers around to balance the weight. I think the only reason Bloomington has an A321 is because it is going to its home base in Denver. I forgot to mention that I was on an A321Neo
@@ASAviation it is out of business i cant remember the name but soon after they flew the flt they shut down it wasnt Vision it was a weird carrier sometimes they flew Mad dogs of other airlines and sometimes various early 737s
Frontier did fly to Orlando (MCO) in Winter 2022 to Spring 2023 out of Bloomington (BMI). They ended service that Spring, never coming back for Winter 2023 - Spring 2024. I do know that they used the A320 and A320neo; as those were the aircraft types I flew on going to MCO (N232FR) and back to BMI (N309FR). No idea if they used the A321 or A321neo. I have been on both A321neo (N614FR [MCO-LGA]) and A321 (N701FR [LGA-MCO]).
Really cool shot of that SWA from DEN-TPA crossing underneath you! What's the distance between Bloomington and Champaign? Clearly Frontier wasn't making any money off of you! At $48 OW, no way was that anywhere near paying for what it costs Frontier to operate that flight! Looking forward to your next installment!
Did Frontier refund your $19 for the equipment change that gave you 28" of pitch instead of unlimited legroom you paid for?? The fact that your row was otherwise empty shouldn't be a factor.
@@ASAviationYou’re very accommodating of the airline. I would expect a refund. They charged for something that they did not deliver so a refund would have been justified. They changed the aircraft. They could have at least offered to give you a better seat on the standard 321.
@@APR1037 the way I see it, a normal seat would have cost $19 to reserve too. If there’s a way I could get refunded for this I would love that, but it’s not something worth making a fuss about.
Get a refund asap!!! you pay for what you get. I got a 68.00 round trip for a funeral to Detroit from Baltimore. I got to Detroit but leaving Detroit they canceled last minute and without any word. This isn't the half of it . I gave them grace because of the price and decided to go back later in the week to spend more time with my family. The return flight again was canceled without warning but we were not given any information on what how why just get a refund or fly out two days later. They don't have customer service by phone but a third party that sales you a ticket for 4x what you paid!!! It's miserable as I sit here waiting to get home.

Your vids are always entertaining
This was cool to watch. I fly the A320 so this was enjoyable. Thanks for a cool video bro!
Thanks for making another video of my hometown
Really really enjoy your trip reports!!! it’s so neat to see you flying out of regional airports. Can’t wait for you to take a trip out of DEC!!!
Thanks so much! DEC is high on the list, hopefully I can cross it and SPI off this year.

great trip report! it’s been windy in colorado for quite a bit lol
ill be connecting through Denver on Friday and Sunday

Train shot 😮
Beautiful video ❤
I had wondered too how they could fill an A321 out of BMI. It doesn’t make sense that you could fill a plane that big from a small regional airport
I imagine the flight is much busier when ski season is underway. Lots of people hitting the slopes then.
It's a scam ! Look into it

Great report. Here in Puerto Rico they fly from BQN and PSE very small airports and flights are always packed!
Crazy plane allotment unless the A321 is going to a maintenance hub.

It’s only about 40 minutes between the two cities, not a horrible drive at all.
are you going to fly from SPI on Breeze
I am looking at later this summer but not sure yet.
At 12:28 you mean 35R
Yes…man I had a feeling I missed something. Thank you for pointing that out!
Did Frontier refund your $19 for the equipment change that gave you 28" of pitch instead of unlimited legroom you paid for?? The fact that your row was otherwise empty shouldn't be a factor.
They did not. I don't think that the equipment change and losing the seat would really necessitate a refund.

What a waste of an aircraft and seats. Definitely seeing this flight being cut
This route has lasted a decent while before its resumption. Keeping it on the A320neo would make more sense

Be careful ruding these they not be playing with these planes
The worst company to fight will never fly with Frontier Airlines again.
