    For pressing in the crank and auxiliary shaft seals I was able to heat up a pvc pipe and expand it to the correct size by pushing it over a flared piece of metal. Yours look like they pressed in properly but I know that the seals can be finicky so I thought I would put that out there for anyone else doing this. Also only buy an oem seal for the auxiliary shaft unless you want to replace it multiple times

    You can put some oil on the oil filter gasket.That will make sure that always is gonna come down the filter :)

  • @Schwedenstahl245
    @Schwedenstahl245 2 роки тому +1

    Very nice video.
    I think Volvo calls the "chest plate" the lower front timing cover.
    When installing the oil pump and the oil pump gear, I usually install a re-enforcing ring around this collar / junction to make sure that the tab on the oil pump gear does not shear off inside the oil pump drive.

    • @BackmansGarage
      @BackmansGarage  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, its probably called the timing cover even tho it doesent cover any timing gear unlike the B20 engine 😀
      Never heard of this ring before, might be something to look into before I turn up the power. 👍

    My goal this year is to understand Swedish well enough to be able to discern what the Swedish words are at the end without cheating and using Microsoft Translate.
    Second Goal? I might have to replace that Rubber pipe EGR thing before it crumbles to Rubber inside my B21FT Engine block.
    You and Overboost racing are like my Favorite Volvo Content channels. And that British dude and his family. They are pretty cool too! (They have a restoration business in the U.K.)
    Moroccan
    I was just having a cigar at my table, and a couple came in on their bikes and noticed how clean that looked, and he was also a Volvo owner as well.
    You do an amazing job on these videos, and I just can't even get over just how clean and noise free the video looks. Its downright spectacular!
    Watching it right now on my 65" 4k TV as the Max resolution on UA-cam Premium, and man it looks FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!
    Either you use to make Videos for a Living, OR typical Swedish perfection.

    • @BackmansGarage
      @BackmansGarage  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I try me best to keep up the quality on most videos 👍 What is your favorite cigar? I have been completly sold on the Mf 1922 petit rubusto lately. Just the perfect blend for a chill evning in the garage.

    • @MickeyMishra

      All time Favorite? TO expensive to BUY anymore! But the *Partagas Short* .
      I remember when they were just $10.00 during the Cigar Boom. Oh MANNNN were they GOOOOOOODD!!! 🤩
      Smooth.
      BODY FOR DAYS!
      Never green, and never rushed, and just made perfect as a Cigar can be.
      Currently? they go for about 50$ each for a GOOD specimen. But I have not had much to really celebrate in the last few years or relaxing really. So I have not enjoyed the occasion in a while.
      *My Father Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto* hugh?
      Help me out smart Swede, is it easy to ship cigars to VolvoLand?
      They seem like a good deal.
      Christmas is coming up and so is the New Years.
      Tell ya what Backman, email me a Paypaladdress and I will send you the money for few nice cigars.
      DEAL?
      Its the least I could do.
      iMickey503@ live or Gmail. Think I got a Yandex handle too.
      Look forward to hearing from ya!
      And as ALways,
      Thanks for making these videos in English.
      I REALLY appreciate it LOTS!
      And I know you said you don't like the world being about money. But its not real money, its more like tipping to say THank you for all your hard work and effort you put in.
      Look forward to hearing from ya, if not? Still, a BIG BIG THANKYOU!

    I was just recently manual swapping my 240. While I was in there I decided to replace the rear main housing gasket and rear main seal as well as the oil pan gasket. To my surprise the rear main housing had no gasket. It wasn't leaking either, but it was like that for a long time. Made me sick to my stomach.

    Most people think that they are frost plugs and pop out if the block starts to freeze....not the case as they are casting holes and you should use some sort of sealant before putting new ones in ...although they might look fine on the outside they do rust from the inside out .....also although I really appreciate these type of helpful videos sometimes I do wish when people reassemble pullies please specify weather it's a left or right hand bolt thread as I got caught out before with this ...

    • @BackmansGarage
      @BackmansGarage  4 місяці тому

      True, i think i said frostplugs on this one, but you are correct hey are actually casting holes.

  • @jonasthemovie
    @jonasthemovie 2 роки тому +1

    ”Core plugs” då de har med gjutprocessen att göra, inte ”frost plug”. Med tanke på hur billiga Volvo-filtren är, hur kommer det sig att det hamnar ett Bosch-filter på motorn? Oljemagasinet kör Mahle, så det var inte det heller.

    • @BackmansGarage
      @BackmansGarage  4 місяці тому

      Sant om frostpluggarna där, filtret blev nog bara vad det blev tror jag.

    • @BackmansGarage
      @BackmansGarage  2 роки тому +2

      Sure, I think many of the fb blocks have oil cooling also. But you might want to swap in some dished
      turbo pistons first. And the 531 head is a nice bonus on the fb as well.

      Mycket är nytt och några är beg. För en 10-15 år sedan köpte jag låda med volvo originalbultar som jag plockar av då och då. Vissa är köpta på lokala järnhandeln med gul plätering likt original.
