Thanks for the incredible chat mate. So excited for all of us on Skool for Internet Renaissance 2.0!
What advice would you give sportsmen who want to go pro but are struggling to fund it?
Selling points: Identify the biggest pain point or just make them a little better at what they do?
This made piece of content me love skool even more and Andrew Kirby’s content lol
the handle on that coffee mug haha
Haha I guess Sam doesn't like warm hands
he splittested the handle length@@AllanHof
Big hands 😂
goofy ah mug
Plot twist, it's a hollowed-out padlock.
I vividly remember serving Sam Ovens at a restaurant in Queenstown New Zealand. Now I'm starting a community on his platform. Small world. He's got one of the kiwi'est accents out there. Great guy!
Lol that is so random was he online then? How did you remember him is what I mean.
Yeah, it was in 2017. I saw his ads and some of his UA-cam content@@awh4272
@@awh4272NZ is hella small
I love his "Just make the best product instead of the best marketing" , it's like how he speaks - he could speak fast and try to sell you the idea, but you want to listen because it's quality of his words rather than loudness 🔥🔥
THE RETURN OF THE KING, SAM YOU HELPED ME BECOME MULTI MILLIONAIRE WITH YOUR FREE CONTENT!
Congrats! What business are you running?
How exactly
14:44 the double "o" luck: loom, zoom, google, facebook, yahoo, skool
Skool's definitely the next billion user thing
Imma start a company called Stool then
I loved the relaxed tenor of this conversation. It has the feel of two people trying to truly understand the world and the value they are providing.
Absolutely love how this video dives into the origins of Skool. For entrepreneurs looking to replicate this success, remember that building a community is key. Engage with your first 100 users personally and solve their problems - this creates advocates who'll amplify your growth organically.
Been in your world since you launched CA and gotta say that I loved when you shifted from 'corporate'ish' to the dude wearing his baseball hat backwards. I remember when you posted that video and some peeps were ticked off that you decided to unleash your authentic side. Love your down-to-earth, transparent, authentic style 👍😀👍
Enjoyed hearing about your journey building skool, as well, was delighted when you asked me to be a beta tester, and soOoo happy to be part of skool's success
Loved your Zen quote, and Googled it to get exact wording ... found this:
"Clay is used to make vases, but it is the emptiness they contain that makes them useful." - Laozi
I actually think that Sam’s version was better:”[ a vase doesn’t get thrown away because it allows the user to put something of theirs inside it]”
A fresh and modern take on a classic concept
@@gabefrommaui6728 yes!! Love SamO's version
It's great to see how far Skool has come already, looking forward to seeing it continue to grow in the future!
Such a good interview.
So many fascinating little intricate moments into Sam and the development of Skool.
I like the k in Skool too it’s like Parkour came from the French word Parcour but it’s a new take on it.
Beautiful interview. Love Skool. Keep going!
Beautiful interview, thanks for opening up so much Sam!
Really enjoyed this conversation. Hearing the journey of transformation from a controlling mindset to letting go and being open to collaboration was powerful. It was also nice to hear someone explain the pure clunkiness that can exist in someone going from nothing to course creator. Off to search for a community! :-)
Really love this interview and hearing the origins of successful companies 😍
Sam you're the man! helped me big time in 2017! the OG. keep going :-)
Thanks Sam, your videos really helped me to learn to focus. Probably they have changed my life, a lot. 48:50 really interesting!
Love these long-form videos. I've created a free Skool community about how to run paid ads for all the community businesses that are starting up.
Loved Sam's transparency. I found value and hope to begin my own community after I heard Sam say the process of beginning with a shitty course no one watches anyways but a community can help you find the thing that's truly worth creating.
I would love to see 2 changes with skool. One is that you don't pay until you get paying memmbers paying a total of 100+ usd or if you would have a free community, that it's fully free (it beenfits yo uas well since you are aquiring more users over time)
Second change would be the possibility to charge different pricing to different people (since maybe some people came from specific source, or they are your friends, etc...) thanks ^^ love the pod btw
1/5 of the way through the interview, currently at 8:55, and it’s still a fact that Sam Ovens is the realest, most human-genius on UA-cam. Genuinely a renaissance man. Swear I’m not a fanboy. Just observing, paying attention, and recognizing REAL when I see it. Thank you Sam. 🔥🥂💯
The goat has uploaded again after a while
Crazy value here
Who remembers Sam from the Warrior Forum? Back in 2012ish? I think his course was Cash Cow Consulting, or something like that
Cashflow Consulting! Those were good days. Remember Lumpy Mail lol.
@@zqa12swx Cash Flow Consulting! That's what it was. Yes, I remember lumpy mail.
I used to send dice to business owners, since I live in Vegas. "Don't roll the dice on your SEO..."
Holy fuck, 2012. I was 9 years old and playing clash of clans. Wish I discovered entrepreneurship sooner😂
Really?? I was having an amazing year on WF 2012. I dont remember him lol! And now here we are
Haven’t watched yet but I know this shit is about to be good.
A sam oven video? hell yeah
great sound, good content
the classic Sam Oven quiet. not awkward at all. it's one way to control rapport
that's such a funny mug
Not sure if you will ever see this Sam but I've heard nothing but nice things about you. I'm glad you're one of the good stewards of money and entrepreneurship. You seem like a great guy that doesn't lead with his ego. Much respect to you sir.
Interesting stuff
Skool is the future of online education
Legend
the KING is back
HUGE. Love to see more videos from Sam again. HormOvens is a killer combo.
Man Sam is definitely on the spectrum but that’s why we love him!
Wow a return for the podcast
I love your transformation from
'hype business man with fake gucci persona'
to
'chill beach bro building great stuff'
I was debating btw Skool and Circle for the longest time. I still think Circle's features are better (mainly the live-chat feature), but Skool does seem to have more steam. I'm happy with my decision, but pls add the requested features :)
kaalraam, make another video about brain fog, it has ruined my potential and therefore my early 20s, I can't find the source of it even with sleep and diet dialled
sam is it a Rothko painting in the back there? your hair looks epic
Let’s go 💪🏽
The king is back
Great 👍 👌 👍, Great work Sam 👍 👏 👌
Sam the GOAT of business
the start was a uncomfortable watch
10:56 - content produced within a group is actually an asset
What advice would you give sportsmen who want to go pro but struggle to fund it?
Hey sam you should make a video on your process on how you crowd source your community, products, etc.
The return is real. LFG
2mins in and I am getting Flight of the Conchords vibes. I hope they take role call next time and Sam gets everyone to say present.
2 of my mentors use Skool for their marketing community.
sam got that founding father hair 🔥
The legendary Skool podcast room.
Looking forward to digging in.
Matthew Thompson, good on you!
Legend!
Grey hairs appearing from the stress there 😮💨
I want to be obsessed with something as Sam is with Skool
Does anyone know what tech stack they used to build school?
About to ditch my Valentine so that I can watch this
plenty of fish in the sea but this an opportunity of a lifetime
Let's go
9:44 Big ideas comes in little dosified pieces...
But the thing is to be able to recognize them.
We just sell tshirts, but have big dreams.
#shc
Skola is school in Swedish, Skool is cool also so it makes sense. I’m Swedish
Sam full of that Tism, I like it
To reach 1B users it will need some serious improvement to engage and retain community members, Discord is far beyond Skool in terms of building engaged communities.
in a sense discord is more engaged, but the conversations move so damn fast in big groups, i stopped trying altogether, i think a more accurate comparison is fb groups
Who would like to have Sam Ovens' Consulting Accelerator?
🐐🐐🐐🐐
I hate that everyone knows about Sam now😤 like nah stay dumb go someone where else lol
Damn
It would be good is Sam made a video addressing the criticisms of his platform
seems to be a snake oil platform
Saved for later!
sam, i am having some trouble deciding what to do and how to go about my life, i am lost, also i don't take action, pls help
Idk if Sam is the right mentor for what u may be going through in ur life but u Definitely need to read “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl.
sooo much self beating because i know him since the days of "consulting accelerator" and even though i couldn't buy the course a friend bought it and let me watch the whole thing. self beating because i couldn't implement what i learned at the time in 2019. 5 years passed and i still can't make use of it. even though it occupies my mind the whole time bcz i've always wanted to free myself from job-trap.
well at least now i know what i'm really interested in without the bias of "my interest needs to be profitable" XD.
anyhow...turns out i can't live without the hope of making it achievable so...if anyone is interested in getting in touch my passion seems to circle around psychology and personality sciences
Sam is consistent on UA-cam?
More videos with Sam🎉
holy shit mate thats a fast 1B users
that's their goal.. it would be all over the news if they did lmfao

They don't even have 1mill yet ☠️
Why are his eyes like that

Biggest lesson - to make loads of money, you have to pretend to be someone you're not. Then you can relax and make money being who you are without the pressure of needing to make money.
We love you but we need you to get a clean cut my guy
22:32 - I thought his consulting accelerator made millions of dollars?
I believe it did, but he hated it & had to reinvest what he had left over into this new venture…which drained every last penny he had. That’s what I’m hearing from his interview anyways, I might be wrong though 🤔
Sam Ovens the GOAT
Bro thinks he’s Fabio with that long hair haha
The guy reinvented Facebook groups? LOL
YES Sam LAD
Sooooo anyone make money yet? I'm making a video game. Is there any use Skool has for me?
Why is the 'K' almost the same colour as the 'L'? To me (20-year brand creative director/designer) it looks like a fuck-up due to sloppy work. But if it wasn't I'd be fascinated to know why?

@21:00 - spent all money
I love the art...oh yeah..😂.. Not, yeah I love it too, thanks.
Lol hello again. I spoke w you at last video. Sometimes u find the best “Truths” in the comment section!
Genuine question, what are your reasons for not having a groomed and professional appearance. Is it intentionally apart of your brand to be so casual in your appearance?
The Ads are strong with this one. Still worth watching, though.
@samovenstv
49:03 How would you justify spending $99/month in Skool to build a community unless you are generating income from the Skool community? How would this make sense for someone who is starting out?
You invest more the 100 Dollar each month, what doesent bring you income #hobbys
TSRIF (first backwards)
Crazy ads running on here man, Sam trying to raise that skool money for reals.
Lol I don’t even think he has control over that 🤔

Bruh, the logo is a riff off your typical school lettering for kids spelling school. It's not hard to understand why the logo is what it is.
earth is flat and motinless SO
Time for a haircut bro
This man talking about “different colors are cool” knowing damn well he did it because of googles old logo. Amazing platform though!!
Guess it's what happens when you are too cool for school
