I just discovered your channel (and your other friends channels) recently. Subscribed immediately. Great content. Your overlanding is a lot more luxurious than what we do in the US. Corona beer? Really, that's luxury. Another big difference is that you need 4wd to get where you're going. We could stay on the paved road to get to most any place in the US, but we choose to go off-road just for the fun of it. I'll be watching more.
Excellent episode Chris. How many days in total was this trip? The question may have been asked and answered already, if so my apologies. My wife and I embark on a 10day trip this March and are considering tackling the same route perhaps with some camp site deviations.
Hello Chris 👐 I'm really satisfied because I found your channel because I'm planing Botswana trip for next year. Do you have some advice, where to start? You booked with SKL cams? We want to do 12 days self drive.
Hi Chris, Great video! Beautiful country. How you get a 2 way radio permit or license for Botswana or Zimbabwe? I planning on traveling there soon. Thanks for help! Lee
Hi Lee, if you’re on ORRA via a club contact them for a temp BOCRA license for Botswana. Alternatively you’ll have to go to a radio dealer in Bots and have them program your radio and apply on your behalf. No idea on Zim unfortunately
Great video! I'm planning on going to Botswana November, do you think a BMW x5 and Jeep Grand Cherokee will make it over the terrain? Or do you recommend something more serious like a Cruiser or Defender?
Hi Devon, depends where in Botswana you're going but I definitely wouldn't recommend an X5. Some places definitely require a low-range, high-clearance 4x4 and AT tyres.
