Alas, if they had same kind of food available at Bangkok airport. I had to had a vegetable sandwich with coffee as that's the only veg option they had. Finally had to have a coconut milk ice-cream candy for my sweet cravings. That soup looks like the one I had in Vietnam. It was coconut tomato gravy served with thick flat noodles. I didn't like the taste though.
Jignesh Gangani coconut can have a very prominent flavor..this one was just pumpkin and carrot

For vegetarian thai food try Mai kay dee. It is excellent.

Thai food has been influenced from South Indian food but Thai people tone down the recipe that is too spicy. When I and my friends went to India, we were uncomfortable with some Indian food unless they put less masala. In Northeast India, we had no problem with the food there cuz they eat pretty much similar as we do in Thailand.

Oh and I and my friends love Chana masala we had in many restaurants in Mumbai. Those chefs adapted the flavour to suit our tastebud.
