Inspecting the Damaged on the Crank for the ISX Cummins Engine!

Can an engine crank be repaired after spinning a rod Bearing? To be honest we have no idea. What I got to do now is measure the Crank Journal to see how out shape it is and if it seems to be fixable. A spun rod bearing is not something that is easily repairable. Due to excessive generated heat caused by the grinding of metal on metal inside of the engine as the crank rotates over 1k. It really destroys the crank. What does this do exactly?! Well, it warps the metal of both the rod and crank making highs and lows making an uneven surface. It also just shreds up the metal. With that being said it is unlikely to be fixable by us. Maybe by machine shop but all depends on how deep the problem goes! Tune into this series to find out what happens next!
