That's almost how it started for me. First it was some cheapo baselit off Amazon for $80. The smooth swing was cool as hell, but I wanted a replica with a pixel blade. Then picked up some Disney sabers and realized the exact same thing. Looked geat, but didn't feel like a lightsaber. Next thing you know, I'm knee deep in the custom market and loving these toys. Reinvigorated my love for Star Wars.
You’re probably using a more professional camera for this video which doesnt give the brightness enough justice but for everyone else, i swear the neopixel looks like a REAL lightsaber on most smartphone cameras (even really good ones)
I made a video all about this and why that happens. You can make any lightsaber look as bright or dim as you want in any camera. I do try to show these things in a more true to life because people do get the wrong impression when they see super bright sabers. The reality is, none of these are that bright in person. On camera, I can make the Disney saber look just as bright as the standard neopixel but that would not be accurate. But it’s true that on camera these things can look as bright as a real lightsaber but that’s just NOT what they look like in person.
Neopixel sabers are just amazing. My wife and I have a couple of them with some having CFX, Proffie, Xenopixel, and Golden Harvest V3. My favorite right now is Golden Harvest right now. I love it simply for the features it has especially saber editor and how easy to install fonts on it.
Yeah my fav has been GHV3 since the first time I used it. It’s the best and it pissed me off when these manufacturers like TXQ and LGT stopped offering them.
@@TheCollectorsOutpost yeah I know. I do know Vire Sabers has some but not sure how many. I wouldn’t mind upgrading my wife’s to a GHV3. It definitely makes me mad too
I own both the Galaxy’s Edge Legacy saber and a Neopixel, and I love both of them! The lights, sounds and effects on the Neopixel are far superior, but I still very much enjoy the Legacy saber, especially for the design and feel of the hilt. Plus, if you get it at the park, I imagine it would make for a great souvenir. Both sabers are awesome in their own ways! 🙂
I've got 89 sabers saved as a bookmark. I agree with you that the Hasbro/Disney ones are just lacking and pretty much suck. I'll admit I did have pretty much ALL the original Master Replicas Force FX sabers, even the very first one the overly huge Anakin AOTC saber. Those were honestly a lot of fun back then. I really loved the Hasbro Force FX Obi-Wan TPM saber. I wish I still had it... Anyways if I get approved for SSI I plan to get me the Mace, Obi-Wan TPM/AOTC, Anakin AOTC, and at least Qui-Gon's saber from 89 Sabers. I obviously won't be able to buy them all at once but one a month hopefully. I MIGHT get some others too just depends on if I really want them. However, the ones I did list I really want the most.
Thanks for the video i was wonderig about the quality and you answered! Just have one question, what about the neopixel durability for a lightsaber fight? i saw that the disney one is very strong for this, hard to broke and hard to damage the light, what about the neopixel one?
Hey, I seen plenty of Disney blade brake so don’t be fooled lol I had a Disney blade brake just from hitting a ceiling fan so. But that goes for any neopixel blade. It’s just LEDs in a plastic tube. Light dueling is ok depending on the blade. Heavy hard dueling is more for baselit sabers and empty blades. More details here on this video ua-cam.com/video/Tk3rayyf-Z8/v-deo.htmlsi=J4H6pshwFLCQR2gs
Been going through your videos and found this gem. I stay away from Disney products. They may look good from a distance, but compared to comparable neo pixel lightsabers, like in this video and you can really see the differences. I went with Ultimate Works when they started and keep going back to them, because of the style of hilts they make and the chassis system they use. I do buy from others, but UW is my main supplier for my addiction.
So how bout now. 2024. Disney legacy saber set on sale for $179, free shipping. Neppixel bare bones with the good blade, $433. How's the value comparison there. Especially for someone who will just display the hilt and occasionally hold the hilt, in private?
Disney Sabers are a joke next to neopixel sabers that now have full apps that you can load load of blade styles and control so much. but if on a tight tight budget, disney stuff will work for you.
The only good thing about Legacy series lightsaber are the quality of the hilts and quite easy to equip. But in my experience with 3 legacy lightsabers(Dark, Mace Windu, Kylo Ren) in 2 months, honestly it's not worth of price. Maybe good for souvenir if not collecting. The Dark saber and Kylo Ren was my favorite. But their weak LED blade and easy to get damage etc.. very disappointing.
I’m trying to bounce on this idea also. Do I want to keep collecting the galaxy’s edge ones .. or buy the neopixels. But the question is if I’m not going to be playing with them is it still worth the price differences?
Like I said at the end of the video, I’ll be 100% honest with you, if you’re mainly getting them for display and you’re never really gonna touch them much then I would go with the Disney option because the hilts are very very nice. Even if you only turn it on once or twice for a photo then the Disney option is still the better option because if you can get them at a good price or you go to the parks often then you’re going to get them much less less then what the Neopixels would cost. I mean if you’re able to get them at the park the hilt is only $160 and if you get them third-party from someone online the hilt will run somewhere in the ballpark of $230-$250. That’s $200-300 less if you just want really nice display peace. That sounds like all you need them for. If it’s just display then don’t waist your money on something that’s just gonna sit around that you won’t really see and hear what was paid for. Hope that helps!
Well Disney hilts if you buy the 3rd party will run around $250 (ish) bucks and that’s still about half what a replica neopixel runs (give or take) now if you are already on a trip to the park that’s a different story. I was there a few months back and in one shot I got 7. But that would have cost 2-3 times more if I got them on eBay or Amazon. It’s all about the math and what you want in the end. Over all the neopxeil will run you more if you are getting Disney 3rd party. You just to sit your self down for a long conversation hahahaha
Camera doesn't show colors accurately. He could change the color saturation in the camera settings, but if he uses it for anything else, it'll either be washed out or too dark. Easier to keep it this way.
Yeah but I get it tho. Many reasons to pick one up on a vacation with the family or you just simply want to collect them. I have 8 myself. Do they stand up next to the neopixel stuff ? Nope but for some people that don’t matter.

Absolutley difference between the two, that's insane!
Why do Art sabers and Vaders Sabers have that “custom saber” tag on the Vader hilts ? Is it removable? 🤔

No matter what neopixel is always so much better than disney
It’s almost like Disney doesn’t care 😆
I would love to know about the darth Vader lightning light saber :0 on the back
Lightning light?
@@TheCollectorsOutpost the darth Vader figure that you have in the back which has the lightsaber power on!! Where did you copped ?

@@WrestlingFamAdventures I would hope you aren't going to a park just to buy a lightsaber. You can buy a few of them off the disney shop anyways.

I hate the Custom Sabers thing the neopixel has on it, thats why i prefer the legacy, just for darth vader
i already own a neopixel too so I don't know which one I should buy
Disney Sabers are just cheap toys! The others, Vader Sabers, Theory Sabers, NSabers, NeoSabers, Art Sabers and Sabertrio Sabers are the real deal!
Even a base lit RGB is more worth than the Disney sabers
And proffies/cfx are better than Xenopixel 🙂

Light up stick vs. glowing beam😁

Probably because they are official merchandise which makes them more popular for collectors.
disney lightsabers are fat and ugly thats all you need to know
(unless you like collecting disney stuff)
