I had just erased my first playthrough that I left right before Gherman because I needed to relearn the game and I knew he would've dunked on me if I even bothered to try it. Watching you making him look like a frail old man was just crazy to me. I'm sure he'll cause me endless frustration on my current playthrough but I'm definitely more comfortable with the game now so I feel like I've made the right choice. I hadn't played for months so any muscle memory I had was completely gone.

the saw spear only reaches AR higher than the saw cleaver at around 70/70 strength and skill. anything less than that, and the saw cleaver has higher base AR. because this is a speedrun, there is no reason why we would ever reach this level as it would be too slow. additionally, at max strength and skill with both weapons (99/99) the saw spear is only doing about 8 more total AR than that saw cleaver. that kind of investment is barely worthwhile for most builds anyway as most players are not maxing all their attributes in any kind of playthrough, speedrun or otherwise, unless you're a PVPer playing at/around max level.

Real question why the saw spear over cleaver? I just recently finished my first playthrough and im trying to understand more so i wanted to know the reasoning if you dont mind.
I only used the saw spear for about 10 minutes of the run. I used the saw cleaver for 90% of run. The reason for grabbing the spear at the beginning is because it's on the way to Gascoigne anyway. If I stopped at the lamp and returned to the dream, it's an entire extra trip to the dream that is completely unnecessary when the spear can kill the first 3 bosses almost as efficiently as the cleaver does.
The only thing that gets counted when the run is verified on speedrun.com is the In-Game Time I displayed at the end of the run. If I were to let the timer run nonstop, and had to quitout for any reason whatsoever that is not a scheduled quitout, my splits would then be more than 30 seconds off for the entire remainder of the run, and I would have no way to keep track of whether I am ahead or behind because this is a console game. In all likelihood, you won't even understand this explanation or why it matters for me to pause the timer so that I can keep an accurate count of my time and whether or not I'm wasting it on a run that has no chance to PB.
How do you get that much damage? Can you tell me where you got the gems. Im already using +9 saw cleaver lvl 88 but i barely do any damage even with bolt paper, beat pellet, 46 str 23 skl, 3 +13% gems.
Your stats are fine. The beast blood pellets require you to build up the meter in order to deal the majority of the damage. Just eating the pellet alone is not enough. The gems are found in the room with the wolf in yarghul, by the winter lanterns in mensis, and before the pair of pigs in mensis behind a tree.
When you press the X button in this game, there is a small chance the game will register the press too long and cause a motion gesture to trigger. When this game was released in 2015, the Dualshock 4 was still fairly new and my guess is From simply overtuned the motion controls because they didn't fully understand the hardware or didn't care. Likely both. From has included motion controls in their games dating all the way back to Demon's Souls on the PS3, but you never do them errantly in any title save this one. It was also cleaned up a lot in the release of Dark Souls 3 but never patched or fixed in Bloodborne. TL;DR The slightest movement of the gyros inside the controller while pressing the X button can potentially trigger a gesture because of a lack of effort by the developer.

I went to the Abandoned Workshop for the cord, which is required to fight Moon Presence. I picked up the doll set because it is right beside the cord anyway, and it sells for a tremendous amount of echoes that I used to level up 19 times. If you watch for an additional 5-10 minutes after I picked up the doll set, you can actually see me sell it and level up.....
After you speak to the doll the first time, she starts moving around the dream randomly each time you exit and reenter. If you never speak to her, she stays in that same location, and you don't have to search around to find her.
Bloodborne speedruns are measured using In-Game Time (IGT). The timer is only used for myself personally so I can easily track what pace I am on. We cannot integrate the timer into Bloodborne because it only runs on console. The only time that matters for the run to be verified is the final In-Game Time which I clearly displayed after receiving the souls for killing the Moon Presence and exiting the game at the end of the run, which is in accordance with the ruleset listed on speedrun.com.
No. OBS is recording at 60fps, which may make for a slightly smoother viewing experience, but what is being recorded doesn't affect the game itself, which is still running at 30fps on the console. You can watch plenty of other Bloodborne videos on YT and probably see the same thing. I personally don't notice it at all.
Bloodborne speedruns are timed using In-Game Time, which I displayed at the end of the run...... my timer is just a tool for me to keep track of my pace. The quality of image of this game is all a matter of perspective. There are no settings on the system that affect the way this game runs. That said, I don't have any issues with how this game runs. On PS5 and PS4 pro with SSD, this game maintains a very stable 30 FPS.
@@lGenso y, i just wish it was possible to play with more than 30 fps. i have played DS remastered on Nintendo switch, after that Elden ring on a very good PC. now, Bloodborne just looks inferior to them. despite that i love the atmosphere and details. i love to watch gameplay and walkthroughs of the game. i wish You a lot more successful speedruns! p.s. i think its time for Bloodborne remastered / remake !

Sub 1:10 is roughly within 20 seconds of tying my Sum of Best. That means perfect RNG on every segment for the entire run. While theoretically possible it isn't something that's realistically attainable for a human being.
@@churichurinfunflais5269 Because the more ng+ u get to the higher the scaling goes, for example my main character is on ng+14, however the scaling caps at ng+7.

Enemies do not "level up with you" in this game, or any other souls game for that matter. If you want to subscribe to this kind of copium, you will never really understand how these games work. Every boss in this game has fixed hp bar for NG, and adjusted increases for NG+. But if you level up, the enemies don't gain additional strength just because you did lol. I have over 3000 hours of speedrunning experience across multiple games in this franchise, and I just want to clarify this so that wrong info isn't spread around that hurts the mentality of new players. And if you don't want to take it from me, join the Souls Speedrunning Discord and ask any other runner there. They will tell you the exact same thing. Thanks!

There is no emulator that plays bloodborne. All runs of bloodborne are always done on PS4/PS5. There are no differences between regions for this game, as patches for games eliminate anything like the region the game was released in mattering at all. Speedrunners use a tool called LiveSplit to track the pace of the run. Because bloodborne is a console game, we are not able to use LiveSplit to time the game in IGT, so we use RTA merely as a guide for our own reference. The only time that matters for the run to be verified is the final IGT shown at the end of the run on load screen.

@@churichurinfunflais5269 Because the more ng+ u get to the higher the scaling goes, for example my main character is on ng+14, however the scaling caps at ng+7.

Butt what I want to say is that it doesn't matter if you level up in this game because if you level up the enemies will level up accordingly
I had to resort to using the duplication of "blood echoes" to get to the last level and this game is so ridiculous that all it takes is one hit from a mediocre enemy and the game is over no matter what level the player is on
@churichurinfunflais5269 So for anyone who reads the above comment and thinks that leveling up in this game does not matter, I will just say please do not be pulled into this line of thinking. Enemies do not "level up with you" in this game, or any other souls game for that matter. If you want to subscribe to this kind of copium, you will never really understand how these games work. Every boss in this game has fixed hp bar for NG, and adjusted increases for NG+. But if you level up, the enemies don't gain additional strength just because you did lol. I have over 3000 hours of speedrunning experience across multiple games in this franchise, and I just want to clarify this so that wrong info isn't spread around that hurts the mentality of new players. And if you don't want to take it from me, join the Souls Speedrunning Discord and ask any other runner there. They will tell you the exact same thing. Thanks!

I don't deny your talent but honestly I have never seen anyone look so miserable playing a game ever. I understand it's a special speed run and the pressure it can present but honestly if something made me feel like that I just wouldn't be doing it. Congrats on the run but honestly I don't think it's worth it imho..

@@lGenso Take as an insult if you want, it certainly wasn't intended as one. I don't understand why you get so annoyed at random elements in a game or let yourself get so pissed off at them. They are random therefore are obviously going to happen at some point so what's the point of letting them get to you in the way you do. I watch a lot of speed runs and that's the first one I have saw when someone just looked so miserable the whole time. That's all I was saying, just my opinion and nothing else which means you can very easily ignore but it's not intended as an insult. @@stevemac6707 Its obvious you have never played a soulsborne game, an inherent part of the game is frustration. Its overcoming that frustration that is enjoyable, he has just taken it past the next level of a normal play-through. Try the game out yourself im sure your gonna be saying I fucking hate this game way more than once.
@@Markusbarkus111 I have played them, I have also watched many different speed runners play it. I have never seen anyone look like they are having so little fun ever, that was my point. It wasn't an insult, merely an observation and personally if it was me doing something that apparently annoyed me or got to me as much, I would find something else to do but hey what do I know. did u play it on any emulator or just on pc with a special time software to track your progress?? do i need a specific version of the game like asian (i heard that most of the glitches in case you use some working on asian version of games)? im new to all the speed rund stuff, sorry in case this is a stupid question
There is no emulator that plays bloodborne. All runs of bloodborne are always done on PS4/PS5. There are no differences between regions for this game, as patches for games eliminate anything like the region the game was released in mattering at all. Speedrunners use a tool called LiveSplit to track the pace of the run. Because bloodborne is a console game, we are not able to use LiveSplit to time the game in IGT, so we use RTA merely as a guide for our own reference. The only time that matters for the run to be verified is the final IGT shown at the end of the run on load screen.
