On pressure, as a golfer this is a huge point. Tiger Woods greatest coach Butch Harmon gave Tiger a putter with a pressure sensor that would buzz when he got too tight. Tiger said basically you couldnt grip light enough. I had to find techniques to keep soft grip under pressure and one was to while waiting on the tee, just roll the ball in my hands and concentrate on feeling the dimples. Maybe putting something on your controller while practicing and momentarily testing the sensitivity of your touch could mimic this? The micro movements is probably the area that expo helps the most... I am wondering without hitscan weapons, technically you wouldnt see the biggest improvement in game doing this. wait until you get your hands on some of those weapons!
ah man what an awesome insight about tiger woods. never knew that! it actually would be so cool if there was something for controller that could pick up our pressure and we could use that to improve! appreciate your insight, wisdom, and comment MJ!
That’s a very interesting analogy to controller aiming and is the case with many sports. I know under pressure my skateboarding just doesn’t work. I have to be in the right state and be relaxed.
Interesting take I always thought in game aim maps would be more efficient to practice for controller players but turning aim assist off and practicing could produce exceptionally good raw aim
for most people i actually agree that in game will be sufficent, but working on raw aim and coming back to aim assist just feels similar to swinging a baseball bat with donut on it while warming up and then taking it off for your actual at bat
Great video! I had the same findings when I trained in Aim Labs on controller back in Destiny 2. Really makes your aim waaay more consistent and makes you realize how flawed your raw aim is lol. Your aim is looking insane! (also - this thumbnail and title slays)
as rough as its been to see how much work my raw aim needs, i love the process and challenge of working on it! Also thank you so much about the thumbnail and title. gotta keep leveling up ❤️🙌
@MFBuddy_YT omg started yesterday. No aim assist I can flick to the right spot okay but if my larger movement is off, those tiny adjustments on the little circles is rough!!
I started running Kovaaks last week and I learned right away that my aim was not as good as I thought! Even after just a week of practice my aim is much better. Aim trainers provide immediate feedback when your aim is not quite precise enough, and I think it hits different than missing shots in game. Like missing in-game seems more okay somehow and makes me lazier about needing to improve on aim and hit shots that I should be able to hit.
Side note, I go months without having internet access, I also played borderlands on controller which improved my controller skills a ton, I tried halo with my boys though and almost none of my aim and skills on fortnite transfers, maybe game sense. Was looking for an offline practice that would help keep me sharp.
I used aim labs a bit for keyboard and mouse. But I do use the in game trainers more and shot gun bot one, raiders older aim maps ninjas map. The best is one by xerox aim something but it has 2 bots moving around a square of boxes and you have a pump. I find that a warm up of this for even five minutes or so helps win 50 50s and increase my subconscious movement while going into a game without it. Thank you for your perspective on controllers in aim labs. I love the science and its another feather in the quiver.
for console theirs a lot of the raiders machanics traing maps have similar drills like aim labs/kovacs with zero aim assist some people that only play zb they might not look at them because its building machanics but most have aim sections
Speaking of hand tension… I have a scuff instinct, pro controller with four buttons on the back, which I use for all of my Fortnite playing… I’ve just now gotten to elite level in rocket racing and it’s crazy how I can play Fortnite for 8 hours and my hands don’t hurt at all, but after just one hour of rocket racing, because of where I have put my drift button which I need to press ~100 times in one race, just hurts, but now I’ve gotten so used to it that I can’t imagine remapping it
Absolutely love this! I know I’m one of your few M&KB members but the part about relaxing your hands literally applies to everyone, on ANY platform or peripheral (controller, m&kb, etc.) and it’s helped me a ton as well just keeping in mind to be relaxed when I play! and I’m just curious, do you think you’d do a milestone video or two when you hit like 2 months, 3 or 6? 👀 that would be pretty cool to see the progress overtime!
Hey thanks for the video and the advice to check this out .I ended up getting the beta on Xbox and my word has it ever improved my gameplay exponentially. You're totally right about the initial tension in your hands. Another important thing to focus on is your breathing during. Nice deep constant breaths help a lot. There's also an aimlabs map in Fortnite for those on other consoles. It's not as thorough as the actual app but it's still useful. Same concepts.
along with breathing I’ve also seen huge improvements by practicing single point meditation practices take it or leave it but for me it has helped with reflexes and general flow.
I really really like this video. Especially when you discuss grip. We've actually talked about it in some of the master streams. Since I'm on PS5 I can't use Aim Labs but in the Aim training creatives I notices when I shifted my grip and uses the end of my thumb on the joystick my Aim felt smoother. I was less jerky.
I had aimlabs on my PC for a while and I was sleeping on it cause I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. After this I HAVE to try. Your aim was nice already, I would hate to bump into you in a rapid 2v2 now😂
Dude for sure you gotta get it in! Your on kbm and honestly it would benefit a ton! Phinicky and Zarraxus are both pretty consistent with it and the proof is there
@3:10 I play without a shirt a lot of times… and in some of my most stressful gaming moments I’ve literally felt drops of sweat fall from my armpits to my legs 😂😂😂
Lol I avoided for a while as well 🤣 yes give it a shot. Check out Voltaic on YT and get in his discord and check out his scoring and routines! It’s the best way to do it and not so overwhelming. thanks for the comment man!
What scenarios do you use and what are your scores as a point of reference? I recently tried kovaaks with controller, and it's helpful to see my improvement against myself, but it would be nice to see how I stack up against just controller players (my scores are obviously abysmal vs. the mouse players that make up 99% of the rankings)
Yo so I use Voltaics benchmarks for scoring and routines! Search “Voltaic” on UA-cam and you’ll find him as well as the discord with all the resources!
If you play on PS5 does aimlabs have the ability to mimic settings specifically based on Fortnite settings? Just in normal creative aim practice maps, I had tension in my jaw/neck when following flying targets.
doesnt look like aim labs is available for ps5 only beta on xbox. if you are on ps5 i would recommend skavooks aim trainer and aim edit piece control (both are creative maps in fortnite)
@@MFBuddy_YT thank you, I would use aim labs on Mac with ps5 controller but was just unsure if it had settings to emulate Fortnite settings on ps5. Will try
great video. recognize the ffa map :). how important is sensitivity settings on controller? i have been playing around with mine. not sure what im doing but trying to find a balance. too high and the aim goes wild. too low and doesnt move enough.
Check this video out I made a couple weeks ago! It should help out with what you’re talking about :) ua-cam.com/video/KHjJYSsuIUQ/v-deo.htmlsi=L7l7RC3hYD1jYYwM
Still not the biggest fan as of of now I’ve swapped back to normal! Mostly just feel like I’ve been playing a lot of ranked (which means I have to be on and ready) while streaming so don’t have time to practice the way I would like to.
Question... is aim lab something you would recommend as helpful for us older types (66yrs+) with hand-eye coordination, response time etc if we are just wanting to improve game play and not looking to rank? I just bought AimContoller Pro to start working on.
I think it depends on your goals. Also I know personally for me there are some exercises that give me a little motion sickness if I do it too much. I’m 33 and don’t know if age has anything to do with it, but felt I would share that anyhow. Ultimately aim is a crucial part of improving gameplay, but there are many aim trainers in fortnite that are more than sufficient to help out.
I’m in my late 50’s, remember when we learned to track critters with our BB guns and 22’s? It’s the same thing. It’s a tool using big dots for our old eyes to follow. Lol
yo la usé hace apenas como 2 meses pero la consola se sobrecalentaba y hacía un ruido exagerado, con caulquier otro juego o aplicacion me había pasado, tengo la series s, y me daba bajones de fps exagerados y tirones
no aim assist in pubg ..... also for me i have to flex my hands due to nerve damage i can hardly feel my fingers long story short i had a anger issue when i was young
Do you have to pay monthly for it? Saw $10 a month I think. I also get motion sick on some things so not sure if Ill buy it but really trying to improve my controller aim.
Some of the exercises can get me a little triggered with vertigo or motion sickness so I get it. It is totally free although there is a paid version. The free version lacks nothing that you need and has way more than enough. I would say give it a shot, gauge how you feel, and then make a decision from there. I will say, some of the ones that had me feeling a little bit of motion sickness I kinda just had to push though and I got used to it.
