Keep it up i got A Monte carlo just like this
hope to restore it soon I need to get it back on the road.
Nice
Thanks
These are also still seen kicking around in Alabama. Must have been somewhat easy to source parts or never broke. Well I see em rotting in back lots too
I seen several sitting along side garages where I work looks like they haven't been touched in years
I think it's 86. Small tail lights and triangle mirrors. I think the round mirrors were on 84 85.
The title says 84 but I believe some parts were used off an 86
@@renegade07garage cool then it's an 84. Nice.
Mine sat for 20+😂 looks like I got sim problems on my hands😤
yep but it will be worth it when its done
Am restoring a 1984 monte carlo
cool I have always liked the Monte Carlos. Is your also a SS Monte?
I have a thing for Gbody monte carlo i want to see more
Hopefully I be starting to work on it in the next couple weeks.
Looks good for it to have been sitting out for 17 years can't wait to see more of it .
Actually it's not too bad hopefully in the next couple weeks I can start working on it and making videos
Nice project. Looking forward to more uploads on the monte.

@@renegade07garage That's awesome man that cars a keeper, I bought mine about a month ago just needs body work its solid but needs love good luck on your car hope to see a video of it running!👍
1988 Monte Carlo SS is my dream car. Looking forward to the update videos
I cant wait to drive it again, looking forward to getting started on this one thanks for watching
Man she’s a beaut mine sat for 8 years before I rescued her anyway I can’t believe that’s a 4 speed so cool also that year that color with bucket seats and floor shifter only 300 or so made i can’t remember the exact number but it’s rare sweet monte!
actually its not that rare, its kinda loke a parts monte i took a 88 and 84 and made 1 and the 4 speed came out of a 79 Malibu after the automatic went out of the monte, and now it has a 355 street stock motor in it but its special to me my first car and i did all the mods and a lot more to come thanks for watching.
i have a 86' was a 69k mile survivor till a wk before thanks giving. found out had a head gasket leak filling the whole crank case with coolant. been like that since jan 20' didnt realize it till nov as coolant kept going missing.... right now getting a new gm L05 put in. car still solid no rot, owned it for 17 yrs and 1st thing i did to it was get the rust fixed before it turned into rot.
awesome I got a lot of work to do to mine but cant wait till I can drive her again
Nice car. Not much work to do on it. Pull the motor out for a refresh. Quick body job. If floor and frame are good. Then rehab the brakes and suspension. And away you go.
That's the plan! thanks for watching
always liked monte's had a 70 454 SS
I always like the 70 Monte Carlo maybe one day i will have one also thanks for watching
It’s hard to find a project Monte Carlo these days! 💯
especially a SS there getting harder to find thanks for watching
yep
@Junior Briar BackTrack 5 is a good program
I will be getting with my buddy to talk him into selling his SS.
Been sitting for 10 years now. 😟
@@franklyspeaking4480 he going to say, I’m going to fix it this Summer!! Same lie every year.
Why to such a great car... how could they
hopefully it will see the road again just like in it glory days thanks for watching
Alot of work on your hands.
yea got to get going on this cant wait to drive it
I wonder what that car’s story is. It’s odd that someone put so much into it (355 swap and 4 speed manual swap) only to let it rot away in the elements for a decade.
in 1997 I pick this car up from a guy in Pa it needed restored so I restored between 1997-98 and it was my first car in 2003 I parked it in a garage and moved to west Virginia in 2007 I brought the car to west Virginia and put it in my garage and in 2010 i had to move and had no where to put the car so it sat in a field in my back yard in 2019 i bought a house with a garage and in 2020 i brought the car to my new place and now plan on restoring it.
Hi Andrew, nice car. What did you have to pay for that car? I'm up in Canada so not sure about states prices. Sure be nice when your done. Are you going to do body and engine work while you are filming? Thx
I picked it up for $1500 USD I hopefully will be doing rust repair panels body work and paint, (not sure how that will turn out) and on the motor i have not decided yet it got a 355 in it now was thinking of doing a LS Swap 5.3 or 6.0 but not sure yet thanks for watching
It has 87 side view mirrors 🤔
I had not noticed, I will have to look into that, more research required lol thanks for watching
Yes, those are 86 and up aero style mirrors. If I’m not mistaken, I don’t believe the Monte SS was ever available in that color grey either so I’m thinking that car was repainted and probably put the newer mirrors on at that point. Nice project car! Check out Dixie restoration out of Connecticut, they specialize in restoration parts for these. I have an 85 I’m doing myself, restomod LS swap.
@@Midlifeglamping
Its a factory color.
A friend had an 84 this color.
305 auto.
@@franklyspeaking4480 nope, in 1983 and 84 there was only 2 colors available from the factory in the ss trim, white and blue, that’s it!
@@Midlifeglamping
My boy had a grey one. 😂
You could option it.
The colors you are refering to were the monte LS.
Thats like saying nothing before 88 was an IROC.
But I had an 82, 83, 84, 85, 86 & 87 IROCS.
Many say Im a liar on that too. 😂
These montes came in grey bro.
what yr is that thing? 86-88 mirrors with 83-84 stickers....
oh 84 with later doors....
its actually 86 with and 84 interior and the SS stickers on the door I just used the Designs I liked the most not sure what year the were off of.
@@renegade07garage if i remember right yours didn't have the 3rd brake light which would also be 84', either way they the better yrs imo 83'=86', i don't like the smooth rear of 87-88. GL with it hope the body isn't in too bad of shape once stripping away the paint.
i got 86 ss drag car etc,,,,,,,,,427 200 shot 4 sale
Sounds awesomely fast good luck selling,
