Studs and lug nuts are common . Wheel bolts into drum or hub are usually old equipment . I ordered the 1/4” x 3” axle tube from Dexter . The 6,000 lb . axles come in three wall thicknesses . Replacing a Dexter torsion axle in a front wheel drive step van ; I used the 6,000 lb. axle with the 1/4” wall thickness . I used the 3,500 lb. spindles with 10” brake drum . Both the Dexter drums and the van were 5 on 4 1/2” bolt pattern . I used the original springs and hardware off the van backplates for new trailer backplates . It was good swap because it was all Dexter 10” drums . .

Wrong! A 2 and 3/8 axle is 2,000 pounds not 3,500

Hey Andrew, aheh, sweet. I would definitely put either a 340ci, 455ci, or a hoped up 350 on that thing. Only thing is the rear diff wont hold up :) this is awesome, thanks for explaining stuff!

Also shouldn’t the original brackets for the diff work if you just flipped them backwards that you said you needed to make custom

I have a couple old Dexter Star axles on a trailer im building and the axle is around 3" and has a 5 bolt backer plate on it and brakes on both axles, i was thinking they were 5K but anyone have any other info on what they actually are?

Got pretty lucky with that pulley, sometimes they don’t come off that easy. Lol. I’d go with a 3 1/3” to 4” drive pulley though. 2” your belt is likely to slip. Lookin good buddy

Thrush sucks in my opinion. I put one on my 01 tahoe it sounded like my stock muffler. Ended up goin with no muffler. Thrush sounds good on a cold start though

Those aren’t the Pittsburgh pro sockets they are the lower quality ones/ the pro’s have the thin wall design instead of the little taper at the tip on those the pp sockets are thin walled on a few of the smaller sizes and have a groove near the decent catch on the drive side of the socket. They are almost identical to the Quinn minus the stamping.

I rented a ball joint press form Autozone and it was broken. I ended up buying the same press on sale for around $70 a few weeks ago.
