6:51 I think the reason gohan builds gauge on standby is cause they were probably trying to replicate the idea of gohan coming in to save the day while your allies buy time, kinda like gottenks vs super buu. Unfortunately you can still use the gohan before the gauge goes to attack so mission failed successfully
That's better design than sealing him would be though. Having 2 battle members instead of 3 is innately a huge disadvantage and effectively using him would be taking away from the team.
