7.45am Australia Hi I'm a beginner and found your video helpful in understanding how to position the Bodhran as well as practiceing how to place your hand on the drum to express the different tones. I have a Malachy Kearns 45cm Bodhran and am looking to learn to play it more confidently. Very much a beginner. I bought my drum from Galway however never really learnt to play it. Thankyou. Hi Deborah! Thanks so much - really glad the video helped! How's your playing going? I hear Malachy makes lovely drums. Hope the practicing is going well! Bodhran is a great instrument for a beginner :)
Love your channel, but a shame you have gone ‘vertical’. Your tone lesson from 4 years ago was even easier to understand with the multiple camera view on screen at the same time.

Hi Raymond, thanks for your feedback. I wouldn’t say I have ‘gone vertical’ forever so much as - I recorded a video while I was feeling inspired and thought why not post something helpful if this is useful for people. As you say the studio videos are much better, but also require me to book studio time, an engineer, editing time with a videographer etc so obviously takes a bit of planning which I’m not able to do every single time I’m feeling inspired for content 😉 however, I have been meaning to get back into the studio so I appreciate the feedback and will get planning. In the meantime, please rest assured that all of the content in my courses have way more videos than I have here on UA-cam and are filmed in the exact same way as my older videos you referenced. modernbodhran.com/courses/
@ Thank you for your feedback. As a videographer, I appreciate what goes into your productions, so thank you. I will be watching many more of your videos as I learn the Bodrhan.
