@XposeAkaVegard Two important things when playing recon 1) The closer you are the more damage you do 2) Magnum ammo is also increases damage. This means magnum ammo increases the effective range at which you can 1-hit-kill, and also helps you counter players who wear body armour at closer ranges.
Finally somebody who understands the role of being a supporting sniper (aka marksman). Not hiding 300 yards away in a bush, but dealing death and mayhem close up! Congrats, you got the grasp!
I watched your other BC2 videos, and I wanted to praise you on your editing. I don't know if this part was intentional or not, but the transition from Panama Canal to Laguna Presa at around the 1:25 mark was so seamless that it impressed me; I kept clicking back to see it again and again. If you were to ignore the HUD elements, I would have been convinced that you went through a teleporter in the dust cloud, lol. Good job and great music as well.
Playing on hardcore with reduced health running around with an m98b w/ the dot 4x scope... Most people didn't even notice... Still, though, the nostalgia is overwhelming.
I never played softcore, hated the forgiving damage and radar and crap. On hardcore, this was very effective with my playstyle so I used it. All those years ago I was one of the first to use that style, along with Sgt. Enigma shortly after, who was a beast of a player.
Aggravated Astronomer I meant that snipers are kind of op in hardcore, since the reduced health allows for 1-shot kills without head shots, which is especially easy if you have a 4x scope, but you still have to be quick and a little accurate to shoot and hit first. But, yea, if you want realism, play BC2 on hardcore if games like Arma are too slow-paced.
@Zakneteur Well, you do realize that "recon" Doesn't mean camper. You spot targets for your team, take out high value targets. And to move up to get to the next position, it requires you to MOVE to the next point, so quick scopes cant be avoided. Just another FYI for you, C4 doesn't stick to tanks from a mile away, and you can't always trust and Engi to do a Recon's job.
Starting at 1:22 there was a sequence where you ran through the dust and then transitioned to another clip. I'm not sure whether it was intentional or not, but that was one of the coolest transitions ever! Currently I'm studying video editing techniques in college and I just have to say that that was damn cool. I mean, you must have some video editing experience prior to these montages because they are indeed ripe with beautiful timing and cuts enhanced by the music's rhythm and mood.
@AleximusMaximus Thanks man Im a huge fan of the SV98 in this game I sadly am not a fan of the look of the M95 for it looks like a bunch of blocks put together lol. Also the x4 scope is grat for quick scoping is that why you use it? I also love the Rex Magnum.
@s7jam I use that pistol purely as backup at very close range, which it's pretty good at. At any other range, I can probably use cover to chamber the next round into my M95 before they can get me. That's the plan, anyway.
Bro your quick scoping is sick !!! Reminds me of how I use to snipe in BF2..I rarely see recon montages really worth watching, here's 1 :D Keep em coming! Your deserve my subscription haha
@jinmurasaki Yeh that transition was intentional, I just saw from the clips that I could make it work if I sync'd the weapon sway animations where the scenes would meet, so I did :) From someone studying this stuff in college, your comment is high praise indeed, thank you very much! I actually don't have any experience prior to my stuff on youtube, I just kind of taught myself as a strictly amateur hobby.
@HoBoWRATH904gaming M95 isn't for counter-sniping. It's for engaging light armour and vehicles. And while it's a one shot kill, you only get one shot. If you miss, you die. That's the whole point. It trains you to not miss.
@spd2last Thanks very much! Yeh the dust cloud transition was deliberate, though not too tricky to do if you sync up the weapon sway animations in both clips. I wanted a nice transition from the part with 'action music' and ingame sound to the part with softer music and no ingame sound. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment :)
@PHCry4Fear It's still a one shot kill for a body shot in normal mode with an M95 at close-medium range, and there are spotter markers telling you where the enemy are. I've tried both extensively and for doing this, and hardcore mode makes normal mode look like Disney Land; that's why I only have a little bit of normal gameplay in there. Hardcore mode is also much harder because you can catch bullets from medics and assaults that will kill you instantly from miles away if you fuck up.
Apparently, from what I saw in the video, when you don't scope in, the shot still goes straight. That's good because really, what's the logic of the shot going high or to the sides? The barrel magically bent? Battlefield, the best and most realistic console shooter.
All M95 bodyshots with magnum ammo at close range (without magnum ammo you have to be closer) will be a one hit kill. Even in softcore, though I prefer hardcore for this style. The maximum one-hit-kill range depends on damage-related factors like whether they have body armour, whether you have magnum ammo etc, because damage drops off with range. So for the playstyle in this video, just about every hit was a kill. That's the whole point of why the M95 acog is a viable aggressive recon weapon.
@NightmareJokers Thanks muchly :) My perks are nothing imaginative: these days I use SV98, MP-443, LW pack, magnum ammo and V alt (for UAV). That's just my recon, obviously. In the video I was using M95, M3R, 4x scope, magnum ammo and V alt.
@GoFlyDude considering i'm using the m24, firing the .338 lapua magnum, which has a muzzle velocity of aprox. 790 m/s, it would take the bullet 0.759 seconds to get to the target, the bullet will drop aprox. 1,78 meter.
@TheShooterAddicted your right but when fired at a wall i found that when scoped you shoot from head height like in actuality the only difference is that when not scoped you shoot from shoulder/torso height like in real life
Watching your gameplay my jaw is dropping, usually really great snipers hack but this is just pure non hacking. What console you play on? If you play on PC how do you record your videos?
It's something I really hate in Hardcore is to be oneshot all the time by sniper. But hey, given the caliber of some snipers (especially M95), that should one shot all the time. Otherwise it's a beautiful montage ^ ^. PS: I saw your config and, except for the motherboard, I have best parts but I can not make the game fluid. What configuration do you use in game ? (Sorry if my english is not good, this is not my first language).
@RollerBall21007 on hardcore there is no spoting(which i wish there was) but i do pound enemies with motars everytime i get which puts the fun to flushing them out of a hideing spot then taking them out from a unknown vantage point
@jorgenknix hey its not the server its the fact i flush out an enemy with a motar strike then pick them off from a very far distance usually im not visible to a 4x optics scope so i immediately take hostile snipers
@siraragorn1 Actually yes because if you are close enough (~30 yards or so, not sure) then a bodyshot from the M95 is still a one-shot-kill on regular (assuming they aren't a douchebag and using body armour). Some of the footage from this montage is regular. (1:30 - 1:56)
Can you still run around and quikscope & noscope in BFBC2? Because I hate it so much in MW2! And what about the hitbox and the sniper damage? I remember in BF2 the M24 and L96 most be a headshot to get one shot, one kill.
Do you give lessons? :-D I've played BC2 on my xbox, currently DLing the game to my new PC - hoping to improve at least a little before BF3 comes out. Great shooting & fun to watch vids, thanks.
@AleximusMaximus too bad the M95 is not a real gun it is just the games equivalent of a Barret M82A1A .50 Caliber Special Purpose Siper Rifle. Which with HE rounds is made for engaging light armour and vehicles , but if you are using almost any other rounds it is made for dystroying comms/ other electronic devices and terrorizing ground units such as snipers.
Very nice. But how do u use the riffica. Pretty sure I spelled that wrong. Anyways I found it way to weak for it's recoil at distance. In a word-annoying
@VeNoM7Box Your English is good! And as for my settings, to ensure high FPS for this video I just put them all very low, but with 2x antialiasing and my usual 1650x1080 resolution. I don't remember anything more specific than that though, sorry.
@ittd2007 yeh the crappy knife hit detection annoyed me too much after a while I never bothered with it after that. M93R is an excellent 'murder anyone 10 feet infront of me' option. Just saturates an area with inaccurate fire, which works well in hardcore as a last resort. I quite like the grach pistol, possibly more actually.
did anybody notice that this guy actually fires the Pistol equal to the rate of a machine gun...one of the best noted scene is at 2:39...he should be clicking the mouse at close to 100clicks per second on average
Nice job Maximus, however my personal preference is not playing hardcore. My personal preference is really stupid because I don't ever play on hardcore, so I wouldn't know. Maybe next time you could make a softcore montage, if you have time.
and btw.....being a sniper doesnt mean you need a scope....back in the old days like the civil war....they didnt have scopes....and they still had snipers
dude, you've earned my subscription. You're vids are amazing. That transition at 1:27 is freaking sweet. 2:32 I remember my first kill like this. Now THATS sniping. I don't understand why you're getting complaints about your gameplay. You're great. Anyway You have a gift with editing, man. You should do something do some work for someone.
@AlvinSpitoon He's not playing on the 360. This is on the PC. (He must have one hell of a computer to play this on high graphics and get better than 60 FPS WHILE recording. I wish I had his computer. :/
@AleximusMaximus I agree. With the type of round this beast is firing, I don't care where you get hit, you're going down. Its like that with most snipers. Even if you get hit in the leg, there is no way you're going to keep running, not to mention shooting.
@wannabetyouarefat yeah, you're right... how do you know what distance it was? I snipe closer I think, easy to quess with conquest. Man you make a science of it... You're a good sniper
i bought the specact kit (so m16 sa and the rest) and i also have laguna alta. but... i heard that that is a VIP map. so if you buy the specact kit you also get VIP maps i geuss.
Sorry im kinda new at this battlefield stuff so i don't know the name of all the guns...whats the rifle and handgun you're using? that handgun is freaking fast at drawing it out it appears...
@jtg2k10 In true practical terms, the sv98 is a better quick scoping rifle in every way. I only picked the M95 because it's harder to use (so was more interesting for the video) and because it makes a really powerful sound, which works well when editing because it makes syncing the shots with the video more dramatic. You'll probably kill a lot more people QSing with the SV98 than with the M95, at least on hardcore. Faster rate of fire, higher magazine capacity, etc.
Incredible sniping my friend.... I like to think im good, but man your are at another level! Your playing on PC right? it doesnt matter anyway your awesome...
what kind of fraps did u record? have u paid for that version, or it is an "illegal" fraps? i ask it because i want to make a video, but i am affraid of bann:D
I have never played battlefield bad company (2) but this makes me want to get it..pretty sick sniper gameplay even though I'm a quickscoper on mw2.. great job!
@AleximusMaximus Well, good show! I have to say, I was super impressed! I'm also really impressed with your other Battlefield montages. One thing I must say is that your choice of music is ideal. Most people put songs to their videos that are pretty irrelevant, usually just a favorite song of theirs, but your choice of Immediate Music epic soundtracks is way more mood evoking and, in my opinion, makes for a more dramatic piece. Keep it up!
hey quick question i currently use the sv98 for recon and quick scoping but is the m95 better suited for the job? or is it more of what your comfortable with ?
@deathscreton Oh how I wish I got 60 frames while recording! I get about 40 frames while playing normally, and about 30 when recording. That makes it a little harder to play, but it's ok.
hey, can anyone help me? I have this issue on bad company 2 and bf3 with sniping. Whenever i see a guy, i aim right at his head, but i never hit anything. It's really frustrating. Yesterday i had a guy right in my crosshairs, at about 600 meters, i shot and the bullet didn't even hit him!! What the hell is this shit!!

Very good quick scoping, keep em coming mate!!

It actually says in the kill messages in the video: M9-3. I remember it being called the M93R somewhere as well, maybe in the kit menu.
@Krytex Actually that's wrong. Even on non-hardcore, if you use magnum ammo with the M95 you can one shot kill at close range.
@Zakneteur Well, you do realize that "recon" Doesn't mean camper. You spot targets for your team, take out high value targets. I really liked that transition from one map to the other using the dust. Too cool.

@AleximusMaximus It increases the distance at which you can spot enemies, so it's not that useless at all tbh.
Watching your gameplay my jaw is dropping, usually really great snipers hack but this is just pure non hacking. What console you play on? If you play on PC how do you record your videos?
Amazing shots man, especially the ones where you take out the guys in the helicopters, couldn't believe you landed those haha.
It's something I really hate in Hardcore is to be oneshot all the time by sniper. But hey, given the caliber of some snipers (especially M95), that should one shot all the time. Otherwise it's a beautiful montage ^ ^.

@GunGemini Glad you liked it!
@iiInFecTioNzii its about which sniper ur most comfortable with. His is the M95 so he shud show us how hes so beast with it.
2 years old and its still veery nice
Wow I watched every Montage youve made awesome rly
do you play on the PC or the xbox/ps3?
I only have one problem.... you are using 4x optics on the sniper rifle made for counter sniping which makes it a one shot kill.
@RollerBall21007 on hardcore there is no spoting(which i wish there was) but i do pound enemies with motars everytime i get which puts the fun to flushing them out of a hideing spot then taking them out from a unknown vantage point
@BornInArona Actually under 50 yards or so on normal mode, the M95 is still a one-hit-kill with a body shot.
@jorgenknix hey its not the server its the fact i flush out an enemy with a motar strike then pick them off from a very far distance usually im not visible to a 4x optics scope so i immediately take hostile snipers

this guy is really good. i think ill use these videos as a guide for my second bf3 sniping video
I don't like that scop on that weapon system but for close range it seems to work out better.
"added video to favorites" you own, epic gameplay
Can you still run around and quikscope & noscope in BFBC2? Because I hate it so much in MW2! And what about the hitbox and the sniper damage? I remember in BF2 the M24 and L96 most be a headshot to get one shot, one kill.
@WhosYourBro I think he doesn't know that the pistol I'm using is automatic burst fire.
@TheGameMaster00 its the gun M9-3 shoots 3 bullets a click.
Do you give lessons? :-D I've played BC2 on my xbox, currently DLing the game to my new PC - hoping to improve at least a little before BF3 comes out.
Great shooting & fun to watch vids, thanks.
A nice thing in your video was 1:24 That was nice! Wich record progam do you use?
@AleximusMaximus too bad the M95 is not a real gun it is just the games equivalent of a Barret M82A1A .50 Caliber Special Purpose Siper Rifle. Which with HE rounds is made for engaging light armour and vehicles , but if you are using almost any other rounds it is made for dystroying comms/ other electronic devices and terrorizing ground units such as snipers.
Sheeee-ooot you are an awesome editor and you are a great player too. :) Hope you make some Battlefield 3 vids like this when it comes out this fall.
Very nice. But how do u use the riffica. Pretty sure I spelled that wrong. Anyways I found it way to weak for it's recoil at distance. In a word-annoying
@PintoTheChihuahua Thank you very much!
dude you are the nightmare of every soldier.......
@Armadylism It's clearly PC gameplay... Easiest way too see is when he runs over other weapons, and it's says "Press E to pickup"...
@VeNoM7Box Your English is good! And as for my settings, to ensure high FPS for this video I just put them all very low, but with 2x antialiasing and my usual 1650x1080 resolution. I don't remember anything more specific than that though, sorry.
I can't even seem to reliably hit stationary targets with this level of accuracy... at least not before I get smoked at range by an AR or LMG.
You should let People Watch this Video from their iPods.
The Option to allow that is somewhere in the video settings.
did anybody notice that this guy actually fires the Pistol equal to the rate of a machine gun...one of the best noted scene is at 2:39...he should be clicking the mouse at close to 100clicks per second on average
@EarlyLegend Thank you!
Nice job Maximus, however my personal preference is not playing hardcore. My personal preference is really stupid because I don't ever play on hardcore, so I wouldn't know. Maybe next time you could make a softcore montage, if you have time.
@wolfgamer97 he's playing on pc because you can see the chat box in some clips
and btw.....being a sniper doesnt mean you need a scope....back in the old days like the civil war....they didnt have scopes....and they still had snipers
@ShizukaRyuko
How about I say we're both half right, so nobody wins or loses this scuffle?
should i use magnum bullet or the special visor with enemy recognizing (sorry, don't know another word for that. maybe it's right ^^).
???
man, i wish my bfbc2 would run this smooth, i have everything low and it still isnt smooth, any suggestions?
question? how were u gettin 1 hit kills all the time and they werent in the head?
@AleximusMaximus Is the M95 really hard to use?
I take M95 nearly every time and i'm not that bad and i got this game since July 3rd ;)
Hey m8 how long did it take for you to get the M95 sniper?=d Just curious^^
Well this music is almost like the one in Matrix Reloaded ( i am not able to remember the scene, I think it should be the freeway ducati scene)
@JAyC3010 Definitely. It can defeat tank armour in some cases...
nice speed on the transitions.
most of us just camp but this is something else
dude, you've earned my subscription.
You're pretty good mate. I was like OMG with the Heli shot. That was pretty damn cool. Even made me wanna but BC2. Who knows? :D
@carbonzo6 That's what I do most of the time. (See other montage) but occasionally I like to mix it up, see what I can pull off with the class system.
@AleximusMaximus I agree. With the type of round this beast is firing, I don't care where you get hit, you're going down. Its like that with most snipers. Even if you get hit in the leg, there is no way you're going to keep running, not to mention shooting.
Which games did u play before BC 2 ? lol... amazing skills
i just watched ur first montage and this one is much better
this is quick and no scoping that was hardscoping good job
@HoBoWRATH904gaming The M95 is a real rifle. Look it up. There are many varients of the famous Barrett M82. The M95 is one of them.
Dude, you are really accurate! Nice work, i loved it.
2:05 lmao! Great vid, amazing skills. Nice work man.
Sorry im kinda new at this battlefield stuff so i don't know the name of all the guns...whats the rifle and handgun you're using? that handgun is freaking fast at drawing it out it appears...
i love the echo on the m90
@jtg2k10 In true practical terms, the sv98 is a better quick scoping rifle in every way. I only picked the M95 because it's harder to use (so was more interesting for the video) and because it makes a really powerful sound, which works well when editing because it makes syncing the shots with the video more dramatic.
You'll probably kill a lot more people QSing with the SV98 than with the M95, at least on hardcore. Faster rate of fire, higher magazine capacity, etc.
cant agree more very amazing montages defenitly going 2 my favs. great job Aleximus!! make more plz great job!!
how many people have you shot out of helicopters?
cool montage. but i cant find this version of the song anywhere :(
Incredible sniping my friend.... I like to think im good, but man your are at another level! Your playing on PC right? it doesnt matter anyway your awesome...
what kind of fraps did u record? have u paid for that version, or it is an "illegal" fraps? i ask it because i want to make a video, but i am affraid of bann:D
@Zakneteur there is no sniper class just recon naab
I have never played battlefield bad company (2) but this makes me want to get it..pretty sick sniper gameplay even though I'm a quickscoper on mw2.. great job!
@AleximusMaximus Well, good show! I have to say, I was super impressed! I'm also really impressed with your other Battlefield montages. One thing I must say is that your choice of music is ideal. @screezable Use magnum ammo ^^ Spotting scope is useless. I don't think it even works, and it would still be useless if it did work.
@AleximusMaximus I'll make this question short and sweet: What's your class setup mate?
hey quick question i currently use the sv98 for recon and quick scoping but is the m95 better suited for the job? or is it more of what your comfortable with ?
@deathscreton Oh how I wish I got 60 frames while recording! I get about 40 frames while playing normally, and about 30 when recording. That makes it a little harder to play, but it's ok.
the only thing im gonna complain about is the fact that some of it is in hardcore =S
hey, can anyone help me? I have this issue on bad company 2 and bf3 with sniping. Whenever i see a guy, i aim right at his head, but i never hit anything. It's really frustrating.
