I must say that you have a fairly clean truck for the age(I'm not sure if you bought it that way or fixed it up) take care of her she will be there for a long time if you do.
I have just recently let go of my Honda Civic to a friend who needed a car after buying a fixer up 83 King cab 2.4 gas which needed absolutely everything except the engine was fairly strong(that was it) I put on new tires, the carb I just bought (32-36 Weber) but I will probably be eliminating most of my vacuum hoses to keep it cleaner and going to rewire the whole thing from front to rear after the front end work replacement of all the parts. While also doing some foundation work on my place (it's too getting a make over from ground up).
She's looking good, and sounding even better. Keep jamming that Pink Floyd!
great video, cant wait to try the weber. justy bought a 86 nissan and had a high idle problem. figured it out i hope, disconnected the tube wires and just connected the blue wire, working great so far.

Bought a new throttle cable,the end was coming apart like yours and the bracket that came with Weber won't work so I used the original bracket.Got the Weber from WeberDirect,they have the black choke,Redline has the white choke.

I have replace the carb with a Redline that has the white choke,but the other one did great.

I have an 85 720 with the z24 2wd I'm doing a Weber swap on it and im having trouble finding a linkage kit for it, any suggestions?
They have some on Ebay but for some reason,they are not exactly like mine with return spring,but they sell them,mine came with the carb,but it was not a red line weber like on Ebay,it was from North american weber but they are no longer listed but I did get a Redline weber awhile back but used the old throttle linkage,plus red lines idle cut off solenoids have the wrong jets on them,i have the north american one and can get them.Red line has the white choke,and north american has black as you see in video.This truck runs better than new with Jasper engine,have 61,000 miles on it.
Does anyone know if this conversion works for an 86??? All the kits I see go up to 85 but not 86
If your's is carberutor and it will,the 86 and a half year was changed to a fuel injection.
Were does the blue and red connect to
The blue wire connects to the choke and the red wire connects to the idle cut off solenoid.You have to splice your old carbs wires.When you buy the Weber,it does not come with a idle cut off solenoid,you can go to ebay and buy them.Mine wouldn't run right without it.There's a screw in that hole,it's a super tight fit,what I did was got my dremel tool and grinded the part next to the hole to get it to fit.You will need to do this to make it fit.A flat head screw driver will take the screw out.Here's what I use..www.ebay.com/itm/Empi-43-5350-Idle-Cut-Off-Solenoid-Weber-Carburetor-s-DGV-DGS-Empi-EPC-Each/112735834481?hash=item1a3f945171:g:vjkAAOSwdW9aJlAL:rk:4:pf:0

Bought this from Weber Direct,now I have Redline Weber,the choke is black on this one and white on the redline,but both are good.

@@damonfacio249 no,how is your throttle cable,i got a pioneer brand one.my oem one was tore up on the end,i use my old bracket to hold it on,also get a idle cut off solenoid,or it won't idle,here's a link to one.ua-cam.com/video/nYien_oMzeI/v-deo.html..you will have to file the part next to it to make fit,or you will strip the threads.need more help let me know.my spring is different that holds the throttle in the Weber cards.
@@damonfacio249 not hard at all,use your old bracket to hold the throttle cable,got a pioneer throttle cable,old one wore out at the end,get a throttle cut off solenoid or it will not idle.My linkage with the spring is from the north american weber company which they no longer make,go to ebay and look,plus you will have to file the part next to the hole to install the idle cut off solenoid,i use my dremel tool,or it will strip the threads.you will use a screw driver to remove the plug where the idle cut off solenoid goes,after you get all installed with both wires,red to the idle cut cut off solenoid,blue to choke,start up and to check if idle cut off solenoid is working,remove red wire and engine will die.Here are some links to get your idle cut off solenoid,and the pioneer throttle cable,just what I use.and to start,you push gas pedal to floor to lock in cam on weber,turn key and start,idle should go to 1500-2000rmp's,let idle for 15 seconds,tap gas pedal and idle should go to 850 rpm's.If it doesn't go to 1500-2000 rpm,then you need to adjust fast idle screw,To adjust,you have to do when engine is cold or you can do manually with air filter off.push Gas pedal to floor,lock in cam,start up and engine will idle high,if not in the 1500-2000 range,turn key off,don't touch gas pedal at all or you will knock it off the cam.you will need a mirror,put mirror by power steering pump and you can see the adjusting screw under the idle cut off solenoid,get a short flat screw driver and turn screw clock wise to turn up if that's what is need,end of screw has a spring on it,then go start up,don't touch the gas pedal,then see where it idle's,turn screw again if need.This is the way Webers need to be started when engine is cold,push gas pedal to floor,release and start,then 15 seconds tap gas pedal,when engine is warm just turn key and push on gas pedal like normal.after starting when you first get with idle cut off solenoid on,start up,then if idle is not 850 at rpm's then adjust the idle screw by the linkage,screw clock wise to raise idle.Here's the idle cut off solenoid,the same as mine.www.ebay.com/itm/Empi-43-5350-Idle-Cut-Off-Solenoid-Weber-Carburetor-s-DGV-DGS-Empi-EPC-Each/112735834481?hash=item1a3f945171:g:vjkAAOSwdW9aJlAL here's the pioneer throttle cable,same as mine.www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=85+nissan+720+pioneer+throttle+cable&_sacat=0
@@48perkins My throttle cable is fine but do I have to by a throttle cut off silinoid no matter what the weber kit doesn't come with one?...or ? Also what did you do about the hose that ran to the old carborator canister filter

No,but our Nissan's are known to have them,a while back my cat got clogged up,caused by head gasket to blown between 3 and 4 cylinder's,so I cut it off.Do you have a Nissan?Had mine since April of 1994.
