Hi Richard, quickly about the video itself: it has no sound on the left channel.... Regarding the Eastman - I think the soundport is a great addition to the new models and I would love to give them a go - but why do they still offer no satin finished necks (I think only the 222 model has one?).
It sounds like your floor is covered in a layer of balloons when you move your feet. Beautiful guitar. I'm going to be buying one of their dreadnoughts this year, I believe. I'm looking forward to it. Glad your move is coming along. Excited for you! Cheers from the states!
They make good grand auditorium models but the dreadnoughts and the OM models is where this company truly shines. ive played tons of their guitars over the past 7 years its always the dreads and OM that draw me.
Well please do visit my website at rguitars.co.uk as we have the finest acoustics money can buy that really are in another class to what you would find on the high street.
I hardly ever play acoustic guitars but I do enjoy listening & looking at nicely built instruments like these. Cheers Richard 👍ooh btw , the sound port is an excellent idea that I saw on another brand recently... I have a Yamaha F310 & a quality Starrett Holesaw somewhere...😉
It’s not rocket surgery. If you’re not happy with what you’re playing, whether it’s the sound or the way it plays, it’s time to get a different one. Simple as that. I used to own a nice Martin acoustic. It really was nice and sounded great but I didn’t bond with it. It didn’t make me want to pick it up and play it. I sold it and got an Eastman E10SS and am in love with it.
Need to tweak the sound for the new studio a bit. The acoustics are a bit dry & dead. The guitar is gorgeous, shame that it's not being offered in natural, I think it should be an option.
Thanks for your feedback on the sound. I am using mics so will talk to Jon (my right hand man) about how to help with this. I actually thought there would be too much reverb in the new studio but I think the mic is the issue - will look into it)
Hi. No problem at all. You order online. We would then deduct the 20% UK tax. Delivery is £50 to Toronto. When it arrived in Canada you will be contacted to pay the import duty for your Country which you may want to check. Its rarely more than our UK tax we have taken off already but it would be worth checking! Hope that helps
It sounds like there is a compressor or an auto matic gain control somewhere in the chain thats raising havoc with the dynamics. You can hear the "release" of a compressor shortly after a strum. Sounds great otherwise! Thank youl
Hi Rich, everytime you put the guitar in for a close up, you get a roaring sound? Just letting you know, as you are a perfectionist, I know you’ll want to fix this, perhaps it’s just teething troubles, apart from that love the video.
@@Pauld62 UA-cam is limiting the audio-signal if an uploaded video is running "too hot". Like TV and Radio-Stations do. In Richards Video the compressor of it's camera-microphone or his DAW is working too hard. You can hear it if he doesn't speak or play by the upcoming loudness of the noise-floor
@@Pauld62 Not to my knowledge, in the sense that I have uploaded my own music videos and it is clear UA-cam doesn't mess with the audio other than turn it down overall (by volume not by compression) if it is too loud. (And UA-cam does not increase videos with sound that is lower than the optimum). So it sounds like a compressor or limiter in the mic/device used - rather like when you use an iphone, say, to record a loud source. Anyway I really like these videos so hope we can get better sound for all of us to enjoy.
You must stop all this immediately Richard. I'm becoming obsessed with watching your videos highlighting all the beautiful guitars and it spoils it for the far more accessibly priced models. Oh dear. Pun intended.
I’m a huge Eastman fan and viewed this clip as it’s a guitar that I’m potentially interested in - but that sound hole, to me, looks utterly rubbish whatever the playing benefits might be. That alone puts me off considering it any further. A pity.
WARNING!!! WARNING! My Eastman come with a factory fault. Its a E1ss Ltd. It had a huge bumb on the fretboard (after 12 fret). The dude that build the guitar was to lazy to correct it so he higher the string action to solve the problem. But it made it worst. All angles where wrong, had to take of 3mm from the saddle. It had so much tension on the bridge so if not corrected it would get lose. Luckely there where no air behind it so its ok. One of Swedens most respected lutihers fixed it, cost my a lot but now its perfect. It sound soooo much better now like another guitar. Please be aware and sorry for bad english.
I think there's something off with the E1SS Ltd - my local shop has one in store and I played it and loved the sound. Put off the purchase for a later day and just checked back in and now it's hanging there as a decoration piece only because the bridge has split clean in half! And it was even located in the humidity controlled room they have, so that wasn't the issue. Which is a shame because otherwise it's a great sounding and feeling guitar. But this has me worried.
Tone quality makes guitars imo not inlays . I want to pay to play quality not a lot $$$extra for looks . No one looks at the back of a guitar when you're playing it. Tone baby tone.
Hi. There is no price increase this year. All the extras are to make them even more beautiful, more versatile and even better value for money from what they were already. Very rare you will see that occur!
FYI its not a sound hole it's a plectrum retriever

Looks gorgeous. One thing though: Is it just me or is this video's sound not proper stereo?
I’m assuming this was shot with a single microphone so there would literally be no difference between mono and proper stereo.
I really enjoy seeing the passion that you have for eastman guitars!!
It sounds like your floor is covered in a layer of balloons when you move your feet.

Richard, Do Eastman have any plans to develop and introduce an 'S'type' solid body guitar following the success of the amazing SB59?
They make good grand auditorium models but the dreadnoughts and the OM models is where this company truly shines.

Will you be getting the dakota fade and the gold burst acoustic models too? Thanks.
Beautiful!... sound ports are not for me... though I suppose they'd be great to hold a bunch of roses while serenading your lady on Valentine's day :)
It's my 40th this year and I am going to buy myself an acoustic. The snob in me wants a Gibson J45 but these Eastmans are really tempting me. Help!!!

I’ve been looking for the 2020 models for months now in the States. I can’t find them anywhere yet.
Been looking for the 20 20 model with the maple leaf inlays can’t find one in America

Could you do a video on when and why to upgrade to a better acoustic guitar?
Rafael Jesus As soon you got the money :)

Wish there was a dealer on long island where there were many to try .
Funny thing is that I think I like the look of your prototype best 👍
Exactly my thoughts. Need one!
Hi richard, greetings from Canada, wondering if you are able to ship Eastman to Toronto? not sure how that process works, thanks!

LOVE the burst finish but I'm not sold on the sound port
You can literally hear the tornado inlays at 02:00 😁
Nikoo033 lol!!! So authentic!!!
Beautiful guitar Richard

Hi Richard, can you still get hold of the exact same hybrid model (not the sunburst 2020 model)?

Hey Richard..for the same dollar..an Eastman or furch?
Zoom out on your videos mate. Let's see the guitar
Sounds a little thin to me!
Breedlove do that soundport. It is quite interesting. Looks so well made it has to be said.
Yes they do ! I have a Breedlove 350cme that has the soundhole. Love it !
We all know that hole is to retrieve lost plectrums
And I'm sure many people have already thought that lol
What is that in $ US. ? Where are they made ?
2158 Pomona Blvd., Pomona, CA 91768
Sounds worth the money
Nice Richard....very nice
Hurricane inlays...not tornado....
A creasy guitar it's waoo 😉👍
The audio-signal is too compressed!
Will look into this asap
Agreed. I think maybe a better recording system would do more to showcase the sounds of these wonderful instruments.
In fairness this could only be addressed to a point. UA-cam will always compress the sound

Such a shame those aren't sold in Ukraine.
When I ask you about international shipping via chat or email I don't get any response by the way.

Lot of money for a Chinese copy. Sounds very thin.
Sounds no better than a 300 dollar guitar. Terrible.
