Bliss is the feeling when the mind is no longer in control so I find that bliss is a by product of this understanding. I’m not walking around in a state of esctasy every day but I do feel a deep radiant bliss in the background knowing that the minds reality is just an illusion and the only reality is this empty fullness.
can anyone tell me if this format was suggested by gatherings of the Society of Friends, or Quakers, where one only speaks when one feels moved by the 'spirit '? thanks in anticipation.
I think it's from the Satsang meeting format. Quaker formats are quite similar, but Satsang is more akin to 'if you are deeply moved to ask a question then please ask a question' rather than 'moved to speak from the Spirit' though the latter can definitely happen in a sense.

He's there but not there, right yet wrong, empty but full, this but not this.... where's the confusion? The funny thing is that it can't be explained any better.... God has a sense of humor.
You can disappear right now but dropping into Presence. Ignore the mind for a second and be aware of the simple and obvious fact that you exist. Bam. There, a mini death. That’s it. It’s so simple. Do it again...and again...and again...
"I" and "knowing" are the same thing. An "I" always knows everything. Even when an "I" doesn't know something it still knows that it doesn't know. When there is no "I" there is no knowing either, because they are the same thing. So he really doesn't know that there is nothing more than this. He doesn't need to know it to say it. A person who grew up in the jungle can still be 6 feet tall without knowing it. There being nothing more that this is pretty obvious though. So we have this. Let's assume there is "something else". What is that "something else"? It's not this, so what is it? It's only a thought about "something else". But this thought is also happening now, so it is also a part of this. It turns out that the so-called "something else" is also this. This is a paradox. How can "something else" be also this, if by definition "something else" isn't this? There is only one possible answer to this question - it can't. "Something else" is illusion. It's not real. That confusion comes from the assumption that a thought of something is actually that something, while in reality it never is. A thought of an apple is not a real apple. A thought of "something else" is not an actual something else. Only this is actual and real. That's pretty obvious. Without an "I" there is no thought, so it is impossible for "something else" to appear even in the form of illusory thought. Wanting to disappear is still wanting "something else", still chasing an illusion. "I" is made of wanting/searching/seeking. They are the same thing. Wanting to disappear is a strategy for the "I" to continue being, continue wanting/searching/seeking. It is very tricky.
He doesn't know...and there is no you to die....death, in this context or dropping away ect...is the best words can do to point....words are not it, can never be it....I can tell you all day about an orange...but until you eat one it's just concepts? ...hope that helps no one.hehe
Why isn't anyone asking the question: "Why is he there at this event talking and answering questions"? If there is no one there, if it doesn't matter etc. wouldn't that render it all meaningless? So why is he motivated to attend? Why not just sit at home and watch paint dry so to speak?
Hi skemsen. I would say, talking and answering questions happens whether there appears to be 'someone' there or not. And who would choose to sit at home, or walk to the shops, or rob a bank, or set up a conference? No choice or freewill is already the way it has always been, but the mind likes to take ownership of the story; 'I made breakfast', 'I watched paint dry'.

i agree with you. You know some people love to talk about formula 1, some about soccer, some about fashion, others about culinary arts. In his case, the brain manufactures stories about that particular subject . Nothing at all special. The mouth can only regurgitate what the brain has uploaded on file, nothing more nothing less. If I give Richard a lobotomy, you will hear different words, if that at all....the mouth might just make sounds like "duck",.."water".."pond". The self and everything that come out of one's mouth is an illusion created by the brain and this is not a mystery in neuroscience.

just another form of endless forms of entertainment to fill the days, the brain is busy at work feeding the illusory me that it has created :)
There's no actual illusion either.

How does he know that there is nothing more than "this?" I am really asking this question. I too want to disapear. to die daily, etcc.
He just means what you're experiencing right at this moment. He isn't talking about the afterlife or whatever.
