    Best regulator out. You Just have to look after it. You need to be careful underneath the purge button is the needle valve. It alters the performance if you bend it.

    Best of the best, I own 5 for the moment and I won't change them for anything. Great video by the way and greetings from Poland.

      I own 5 Poseidons too!.
      These are the regs I own that my friends always reach for; they dont own their own regs but rather use mine.

    как настроить на данном регуляторе силу вдоха?

    at 5:42 you say they are “finicky”. could you elaborate on that?

    • @kevinohara8529

      They're not really "finicky" as much as they are "responsive". What he really means is that they may not behave like other regulators. Anybody could floor the gas pedal in a Toyota Corolla. Most people will be caught off guard and possibly find themselves in a situation if they attempt to floor the gas pedal in a 700+ horsepower hypercar without working up to it.

      @@japanlego You don't have to defend Poseidon on my behalf. So far, I have about 40 dives on my XStream Mk3 in the Red Sea this summer with zero issues. The only things of note are sometimes having to explain to people that it's normal for some air to come out when opening the cylinder valve, and fluttering at shallow depths. But I don't use scuba gear to snorkel 😆

      @@japanlego I had to check the video to see why he specifically says it's finicky. He mentioned how the regs WILL supply as much air as you demand (and that rush of air could catch someone off guard). I find this to be true, but that should only be a problem for heavy breathers (new divers). The second thing he mentions is the forceful purge. Personally, I haven't noticed that, but I rarely ever find myself hitting the button, and when I do, I press it very lightly. From what I understand, this was more of a problem with older Poseidon regs.

    Nobody's performance matches that of the Poseidon jetstream or extreme. But.....
    I'll always go with the jetstream as it's far easier to self service than the xstreme as you must have bespoke poseidon tools which aren't cheap.

      My Mares Abyss 22 is looking like destined to be consigned to the bin after 20 years and I am now looking for a replacement. Serviceability is a very important consideration for me. Could you please expand on your comment? I was considering the X stream - but now thinking jetstream as a result of reading your comment. Thanks in advance.

      @@Heraclitus188 yes. Whilst most regulator manufacturers seek to stop the user gaining access to the inner workings of the first stage, it is normal to want to be able to access and clean the conical filter yourself. The older jetstream design allows you to do this via a hex key.
      The xstream needs a specialist tool which is a bespoke 14mm spanner to unscrew the newer din tube design. Most people won't have this expensive specialist tool and with poseidons they do rely somewhat on you keeping them cleaner than standard regulators. Remember this is the bugatti of regulators not the honda civic.

      @@seeul8rwaynekerr Thank you so much. A special tool could always be fabricated with some cutting, welding and so forth. I live in the Philippines and for ten years I could never get the "qualified" service technicians to replace the first stage poppet valve on my Abyss. Subsequently I want to carry out all required servicing myself - with the appropriate parts kits. Do you have any suggestions for a performance reg that might suit?

    • @seeul8rwaynekerr
      @seeul8rwaynekerr Рік тому +1

      @@Heraclitus188 if you live in a remote area and want an easy to mend high performing reg, go with apeks. If you seek the ultimate in performance like I do then go poseidon. I'm also mildly asthmatic so the "life begins at 30 metres and only gets better with increasing depth" these are ideal for me.

      @seeul8rwaynekerr Рік тому +1

      @@Heraclitus188 if you are a good hand at engineering then you'll have no issues making aftermarket servicing tools. Some spanners for mending bicycle head stem bearings can be easily modified to become this tool.

    Don't try and mate this to non poseidon hardware as it works on a higher ip and will murder your other hardware slowly.
