When I first started scuba diving, I bought all high performance dive gear, including the regulator. So far I've done 90 percent of my diving in Texas and 10 percent into in Florida. At 102 degrees Fahrenheit or 38.9 degrees Celsius, here in South Texas; I don't really need a cold water regulator.
Good explanations, I'm using a Beuchat VR200 (DIN), which I'm very happy with, I also have a VX200, VX10 Iceberg. I'm diving in Denmark with it, so far I think the lowest temperature I've used it in is 3 degrees celcius, and it has worked perfectly. The odd thing about the VR200, is that it is quite compact, but still performs perfectly. It weighs around a kilo, so it's not that heavy.
Using GUE style Apeks DST’s with 5th port. Together with two XTX50’s. Diving in fairly cold water (down to 3 degrees C). Or since this month in caves. My stuff needs to be sturdy. If it means I have to pay extra in flight tickets? With love. My life is worth the few extra dollars.
Wing/BP and two Apeks DS4's/TX50's. Works in warm and cold water. Don't need dedicated travel regulators, nor do I have any use for turrets or 5th ports. They are extra weight 😉.
I went for a HOG setup with cold water second stages. I would rather have a slightly heavier set of regs that I know is going to work no matter the temperature than a lighter unit that I don't necessarily trust as much as the cold water reg.
Any one had issues with the XL4 ocea from Apeks free flowing at depth in cold waters ? It is supposed to be a cold water approved reg but I had a free flow at 41m in 09°C yesterday just trying to found out what happened ….
Wayne Dunn Hey you can dive to 200m with apex only 60m .And the most important its proven 30year old design .Look i am not bashing Apeks as i understand its also very high quality .And i am a comlete newb. But in the end i decided to go for xstream.(recomendation also came from my neighbour who is master diver )
@@xiam19 what an utter nonsense that you can only go to 60 m with Apeks (NOT Apex), both John Bennett and Ahmed Gabr who reached 1000 ft (over 300 m deep) used Apeks regulator in their record braking dives, none of them used Poseidon.
The best regulator for travel is the one you have. :)
Nice video!!!

Atomic B2/Z2 regs. Great breathe, well built, and long lasting with a 300 dive or 2 year service. Enviromental seal so I can take them wherever! 👍🏼👍🏼

I run a cold water reg but I don't even go in cold water (well about 40-50 degrees on avg)😂
I love my mikron set 👌

I use HOG gear.
Awesome stuff, tech quality, way underrated.

Poseiden cyklon first stage and second stage with octo

Please lower the volume of the music. Great video just need to hear you
Do a review on hog regulators
Si you have to have both because you cant use the cold water regulator in warm water?
a cold water regulator will work perfectly in warm water,
Isnt the apeks xl4 a good all rounder
Wanted to buy Apex mtx-r ,but then i bought Poseidon xstream insted.
Hi Mate, What made you go for the XStream instead?? I am looking at replacing my Cyclones and cant decide between the MXT-R or XStream..

Good video. However the music is distracting and unnecessary.
