You guys made adapters that’s sweet! I was worried about the depinning part
This guide was perfect, thanks heaps for this! Going to remove the PR Coil option in my MHD now seeing as I am not above 550HP.
Ordered mine today. Excited to see if it fixes my misfires
did it?
@@mikkihintikka7273 it did temporarily. It was a leaky injector that caused the misfires. I still run the pr coils though
Got mine today, this is quite good timing haha.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻, You guys are awesome, thanks for sharing !
During the install I lost the rear bolt to attach the coils. Anyone know the part number to order a replacement?
What's the gauge of the coil wires? 18AWG or 16 AWG?
Wait do you not have to plug the capacitor back in??
There's a lot of debate whether it advantageous to pick the Precision Racework tab on the MHD app. I recently where the guy said not to pick the PR tab when flashing my car. He said something where picking the PR option on the app will send an excessive amount of unnecessary current to the spark plug which can damage the plugs. Is that true? I'm currently running the PR Ignition Coils w/ NGK 2 step colder spark plugs. I went ahead and picked the PR tab during the flashing of my 335is and my car seems to be running great. Can you please advise me if I should keep it as I have it or should I unpick the PR under the coils tab b/c of risking of damaging my spark plugs. TY
This is a great question, the information you were given is somewhat correct. The PR coils are much more powerful than stock coils even at the stock settings. When increasing the dwell time which is what occurs when the check box is used they become even more powerful. The more power you put through a spark plug the faster it will wear out but at the same time the larger plug gap that can be ran or the more cylinder pressure the spark can overcome. We recommend cars below 500whp run with stock settings, not because it will damage the car enabling the check box. But because most cars under 500whp are already getting better burn and seeing horsepower and torque gains after simply installing the coils. Increasing the output at these power levels doesn't typically yield even more gains. However a car pushing 700whp or 900whp would not see it's full potential without enabling the check box. So in short yes it will shorten the life span of the plugs because the coils are doing their job and putting out more power. So it really comes down to each customers needs. If you want to know what is truly needed for your car we suggest putting the car on a dyno and simulating real world load. You can then do before and after pulls with and without the increased dwell time to see how the graph changes.
Still have the pr tab checked?
Did i hear that correctly? "If its under 550hp, I wont see additional hp gains with the new kit"?
yes what is so wired about it?
I put mine one but was having misfires , I think do to not flashing it
So do the coils themselves never need to be swapped again?
Any coil will wear with time, that said with several thousand kits all over the globe installed over the past 4 years only a hand full of customers have ever needed to replace a coil. We know of customers running 900+ whp for the past 4 years on the same set of coils without missing a beat.
What is that air box?????
That is an AFE Momentum GT CAI box wrapped in thermal tape to help keep air cooler inside. This is my car. Now, I have Dual Cone Intakes from PSP and the AFE is just sitting on the shelf waiting for someone to buy it. It was $512 plus shipping. I am selling with an extra filter for $200 plus shipping.

How much are these coilpacks
I have a n54 335i my kit did not come with adapters
Where was this flashing info a year ago? Good to know I've been putting extra wear on my car with a flash when it wasn't necessary...
I know right... Things after N54 flash .... stage 1. ( only mod: FM Intercooler and oil catch can. 91oct) injectors started going bad, 2nd Bosch spark plug set, 1 DME MSD80 mosfet TRANSISTOR replaced, more bost= more tension with flash so I had to replace tensioner, it loosen my power stearing pump bolts (idk why bmw didn't add lock tie) but I did. Caused my serpentine to rip. Nightmare but fun to replace. Other than that had a blast with the exhaust burbles and rattling wastes, after all that fun Im back to stock flash. But now with this kit 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. Very well presented video 👍
Where do i get the adapters
The only thing that doesn’t make sense is he has the blocks on the bracket where the bulk is towards the block, giving him way less room than if they were reversed and popped out.
Good.
Doesn't put in last screw for cover - "doesn't hurt..if not it makes it easier"
My OCD - "OMG THERE IS A SCREW LEFT BEHIND AND A HOLE UNFILLED!!!
lol
Same I still have all 4 on 😅
Bmw suggests not to put grease...
The worst camera angle i have ever seen for this type of video- may as well have been a podcast on spotify.
Got mine in and that bracket does not fit. I dunno whats wrong with mine but I am pushing this thing up as tight as I can get it but I can not get the bracket in close enough to get these tiny screws in.
Never mind I got it. I reversed the way the boxes were attached to the bracket. Opposite of what was in the video.
@@Travios1115 were you able to get the plastic engine cover back on? I had the same issue but I don’t think the cover is going to fit
@@christospavlakis4487 Once I got the bracket straight and everything snapped into place I cut out some of the foam on the enging cover. Just the foam that sits over the coil area. Then squeezed it on and tightened it down. Its a tight fit but it works and can be done. Since then I have cut my cover to show the coil pack. I think it looks better that way.
@@Travios1115 so you got it on with the coils in reverse and not the way he installed them in the video?
I thought about cutting the cover but I have vents in my hood and worry about water getting in
Horrible pov
