@@Abby_Goth well in my country in public schools sometimes they have low teachers and some have to teach a material they don't know about, sometimes there are cases of violence against teachers and even in private schools most of them hate teachers.

I tried to be a physics doctor like the roommate and it made me sad. I now work for a charity so I too am less impressive but I'm happier
The best part of this is how the roommate reacts this whole time. Normally the moment the friend or family that's discouraging you realizes you have talent and admits would be a huge, validating moment. But when Brian says "that's the best bread I've ever had" his roommate just nods. He knows he has talent and has confidence in himself. He doesn't need Brian's approval, he's just finally helped his roommate see what he knew was there all along. And Brian, who gave up on himself, realizes he should have believed in his roommate... And maybe himself too.
That's genuinely brilliant.

I tried the no-knead artisan bread recipe at 0:37 and it turned out alright, though i made some modifications and was able to cut the waiting time down to 7 hours - from 14.
here's my modified version:
Ingredients
-------------------
4 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoon instant dry yeast
2 cups warm (110F) water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon sugar
the dough
-----------------
1. combine all ingredients in a bowl, making sure no dry flour is left on the bottom
2. cover bowl with plastic wrap and let proof on the countertop for an hour. then place in the fridge for at least 6 hours - up to 24.
shaping the loaf
----------------
3. remove dough from fridge onto a well-dusted work surface, and form into a loaf shape. line a 13-Inch loaf pan with parchment paper and place the dough into the pan.
4. cover and let proof on the countertop for another hour
Baking the bread
----------------
5. preheat the oven to 390F
6. sprinkle a little flour on the loaf and score the top with a knife to prevent bursting
7. bake for 20 minutes at 380F, then 25 minutes at 340F
8. remove from oven and transfer to a cooling rack - let cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting into the bread.
** can also be baked in a dutch oven by:
- preheating the dutch oven to 390F for at least 30 minutes
- shaping the dough into a ball on a layer of parchment paper and lowering into the preheated dutch oven
- baking for 20 minutes covered at 390F, then another 20 uncovered at 390F

You’ll serve yourself a lot better if you bake by weight! Cooking just about anything by volume is totally fine but you’ll have a lot better success in baking if you get yourself a little cheapo kitchen scale

As someone who’s parents are literally a Physics doctor and math teacher, I’m gonna assume he deliberately chose two of the least lucrative positions for irony
Although they are fairly stable positions. Maths teachers are in very high demand, so while the pay's not great, it's unlikely you'll lose your job.

Becoming a cook or a baker is very hard, but doing anything worth doing is, If you can speech some Spanish, willing to put in the work, and can wake up before the sun, I say go for it. Also consider the type of bakery you wan to work for and where you want to be in the industry in a couple of years. Also can you do Metric and Imperial conversion?

My partner opened her bakery a year ago next month. It's been non-stop 100 hour weeks, just scraping by.
That's it, no heartwarming ending (yet). She's often frustrated and depressed, and she gets stressed out having to socialize with her customers. But she still gets excited to bake stuff, and her customers love her bread.

I envy people who follow their dreams so much. Not just for following them, but for even knowing what their dream is in the first place. I wander around fairly aimlessly, with no idea what I even want to do with my life. And when I look around, it seems like there are loads of other people out there with the same problem. (Since in Greek, Philosophy technically means love of Wisdom)
Also, Doctore means Teacher or Lecturer, so the academics have had that term longer than the Medical Doctors have!!

Which theme
So two things about why I think this came in my recommendeds:
1. A few months ago when I was pulling an all-nighter with a paper that was due in a few hours I had a bit of a breakdown where I thought "what if I gave up everything and started a bakery?" Idk what prompted that exact thought (maybe the Binging with Babish videos that I was procrastinating with earlier in the day), but it distracted me a bit from the paper. I started thinking about where my bakery would go and how I could learn from UA-cam videos on how to bake things. I eventually snapped out of it and finished the paper in time, but the thought stucks with me to this day.
2. I'm also a writer, albeit a very lazy one.
I'm glad that BDG is doing this full time, now, and when he opened his patreon, I was ecstatic to be able to help support him.

4 cups all purpose flour

Combine all ingredients let sit covered 12-18 hrs lightly [unclear, perhaps "knead" but that's a bit contradictory to the title] and let rest covered with towel 2 hrs Bake 450 [unclear].
I think it says "bake 450 45 min"
also the reason it's called no knead despite you needing to knead is bc "lightly knead" means you need to just squoosh it around for a few seconds, but there's no need to full-on knead, which is long and tiring

Brian, I want to tell you how I feel about this video-I've liked this video for a long time, but never commented before because it's hard to articulate my emotions about it. This song is such an ambivalent mix of cynicism and levity. I've had to go through the process your song describes: I studied my passion in university and I'm not doing the job I went to school for. To me, that feels like failure. It's been a difficult personal crucible for me. It's hard feeling like a failure, and that compounds when the thing you're failing at is the thing you love. The lyrics of your song hit close to home. Yet, I often turn to this song when I'm discouraged. It allows me to validate and process the negatives, it helps me find humor in my situation, and to me the song's ambiguous ending is rather hopeful. It also reminds me I'm not alone in my experiences, and that's a comfort too. Thanks Brian!

This comes at a time when I just started baking consistently with my sourdough starter. Keep making too much bread and sharing it, and people seem to like it enough that they'd buy it. after my bakery burned down, i realized my business was toast, but i guess i just gotta keep the ball rolling. i'm a little low on my dough now, but i'm gonna quit loafing around. although i guess i don't _have_ to, i mean, my wife has always been the real breadwinner in the house. some people say that would sort of be going against the grain, but i think those types of people are just kneady when it comes to being in control. i don't want anyone to bake this the wrong way, but at this point i feel like i deserve butter- with my bakery burning down, and all.

@@Kelly_C Yeah, really wish frying wasn't such a hassle, cause it's probably my favorite way to cook stuff otherwise. Just cause of the coolness factor but also it's fast once you get it going and... crispy stuff.
