Thank you so much. The narrator is one of my favorite in all times. From kings and general to here. I'm in syria I wish I could donate something to let you guys grow but I can't. Wish you the best
Idk where I read it, but I think he's implied to be the son of Godwyn. So Godfrey would be his Grandfather if that were the case. He IS a demigod, so he had to come directly from Marika's line realistically. Either through Godfrey and Marika or Marika/Radagon and Renalla.
@@moviebad109 I’m sorry to sound like that “well actually” kind of guy, but in the game it is stated that Godrick is of the golden lineage and the golden lineage is stated to be the bloodline born from the union of Godfrey and Marika.
@@Doommarine-sr8y it can be interpreted both ways honestly. I don’t mind at all, I love this about from soft lore. I could swear he’s referred to as a “descendant” of Godfrey, which can be inferred to mean he’s not a direct descendant considering how some people refer to him as a “distant” relation. And it specifically only ever says he’s “of the golden lineage” which could also be interpreted as being an offspring of Godrefy’s offspring. He’s also referred to as having “diluted” blood ties to the golden lineage, so who knows what that actually means. It could also explain why part of Godwyn’s Corpse is below stormveil castle in the form of deathroot. I took it to mean Godwyn has some connection to the place, and by extension, Godrick. Who knows what’s actually correct though; George RR Martin or Miyazaki alone could probably answer the question. lol
@@moviebad109 Finger Reader Enia (the lady sitting next to your 2 fingers) literally says this after you gain access to the Roundtable and defeating Godrick: "The demigods are each and all the direct offspring of Queen Marika. Godrick the Grafted was but a distant relation... The runt of the litter, his divine blood sorely diluted." He can't be a "direct" son of Godwyn. Otherwise the rest of Marika's family wouldn't see Godrick as the "runt of the litter" and his divine blood is apparently "sorely dilluted". His blood shouldn't be diluted at all if he trully was a direct descendent
Two corrections: Godrick was not the son of Godfrey and Marika, but was further down the line of their lineage. And the Gloam Eyed Queen was not chosen by the same Two Fingers that chose Marika, but by her own Two Fingers
I played through this game without ever really getting entrenched in the lore. I always found trying to piece together souls games lore as tedious. It's great to have a basic explainer instead of relying on cryptic tidbits from the game itself.
I KNEW YOU LOVED FROM SOFTWARE!!!! I really hope this series continues, seeing the history of the lands between in real time it's just amazing, I really really appreaciate your work
Elden Ring mythology is the most unique among all fantasy - of which all can trace their origin back to Tolkien's work. George RR Martin and Miyazaki broke the fantasy mold in a way I've never seen from anything in D&D, book, video game, or comic book. It's semi based on religion and mythology of the real world (from Norse to Christian) with everything from armor to architecture being derived from actual history, and yet retains its own stark individuality throughout
thou some need for revisions... But my God... With Wizards and Warrior narrating the Eldenring... It somewhat elevated the game... to a status of Mythology. Thank you Wizards and Warriors... Now the DLC is out... The real reason why the Northern Army (Malenia/Miquella) marched south to meet Radahn is now unveiled.
Radahn probably inspired from Takeda Shingen and his epic rivalry with Uesugi Kenshin in which both were regarded as equal with nobody came out on top to the end. Unmistakable flowing mane behind helmet portrayal, honorable gestures shown to enemy and mastery in own styles but can't beat each other.. immediately reminds me of Shingen. Also read somewhere about the term God of War in japanese version and that's literally the title Kenshin also known as (although here associated with opposite side) for his religious afflictions. Just my guess only. Quite sure of it myself but up to you.
Very good summary... just a shame our collective understanding of the lore has been shattered worse than the Elden Ring itself by the DLC 😂 Really looking forward to that video whenever you get around to it .
A small correction: the ancient dragons didn't rule from Farum Azula -- the original location was in Caelid (you can see the Farum greatbridge which exists there now) and near the end of the ancient dragon empire Placidusaxx most likely fled from that location, using his time-storm to preserve the remains of his empire (and his life) and traveled to the current location.
In addition to the two corrections posted by the other 2 commenters below, I'd like to add a third: Rennala gifted Lord Radagon with what is likely a regular Moonlight Greatsword, which would later be reforged into the Golden Order Greatsword by Radagon himself as stated by the item description: "Telltale signs betray that this was once the greatsword bequeathed to him by his first wife, Rennala." So, the Amber Egg is likely the only thing Radagon ever gifted to Rennala.
Suggestion for a video: Half-Life! I played Half-Life a few years ago. So you play a scientist, dimensions cross and you have to shoot aliens and special forces. But don't know that what the plot was about. :/
The disparity between how good and how bad DisSW is wild. Like anything Dave Filoni is associated with is usually good as a baseline, then you have everything else and it's so sooooo bad.

That's just my assumption however, but this underlines the first issue as well. Thanks for the video however!! You guys did a nice job to sum up the story!
Wouldn’t say Malenia and Radahn were equal as Radahn was about to defeat Malenia who was struggling to keep up with him she released her scarlet rot to beat him seeing no other choice resulting in her pretty much nuking the area
Thank you for this video, I wanna watch more Elden Ring lore vids but VaatiVidya's mega forced whisper deep voice makes my bones hurt more than Season 1 of the US 'The Office'.
As with real history not every single detail reveales itself - what outsiders don't understand is that is part the charm, to discover the answers one has to delve deep. Like the games combat it's not for everyone but for those who like challenges and mysteries to be solved, earning hard won victories, overcoming obstacles, and unveiling hidden histories adds another level of satisfaction not found in other games like Elder Scrolls
Godrick is only a relative of Hoarah Loux not a Demigod, why is it so many it seems didnt know that., Also Radahn went to Selia to study gravity magic so he can ride his horse. Also the mispronunciations of names are just so suspiciously prevalent in many videos and other channels , which makes me believe its on purpose, because that what most people do correction and so write comments and writting comments must be somewhat helps in the algorithim to boost the channel's subscribers or views.
