As always, things that “resonate” with me: (1) resonant antennas ONLY; (2) gratitude for a mentor/guide; and, (3) giving helpful advice/feedback in a respectful manner! Well done. KQ4IXD

Thank you Fredrich! I agree 100 percent. The two biggest lessons I learned from Lou, ALWAYS run a resonant Antenna DO NOT rely on a tuner EVER, and Always make sure your audio is as LOUD and Clear as possible. That way even if your signal strength is not there, they will still hear you and when the signal is there it looks like you are running a KW! The goal of this channel is for me to Elmer those that do not have one, and showcasing all the other operators. Because at the end of the day if it wasn't for everyone else on the air, it would get boring just listening to me LOL... If an idiot like me can figure out satellites, so can everyone else, that grows the community and gets us more grids active. Thanks for watching and commenting, 73!

Thank you! Lou was a great guy. He originally was assigned the callsign in 1954 so it’s also fitting I am assigned the call 70 years later. 73!

He was a great guy. I found a callsign book online from 1954 and he had the callsign then. I’m trying to find more to see when it first was assigned to him. The only records of it being assigned in the FCC database is him and me so that’s pretty cool.

Every time I say the call I bring up a memory of him. It’s pretty surreal. Thank you and 73!

Thank you Mike! Lou was an amazing guy and I am proud to resurrect his call. Every time I say It I remember something about him. I appreciate it. I have lots of guys asking about them almost daily. In fact I spoke with an operator yesterday about them and he may be purchasing a set soon as well. It's too bad I don't get commission, LOL. I think My channel sells more of them than their sales staff :)

Just found your video, thanks for the tour and love the story behind the callsign. If I may ask what is the tracker software in the upper left corner of your screen? WD4GAB 73s

Hey Greg! That is the interface for the CSN Technologies SAT Controller. The sat controller takes care of the radio and rotor, and can be brought up on any web browser from an IP address. It is the best money spent on my entire rig!! Less than $300 and completely portable.
