Could you describe movements and tuning for doppler, IC-9700 set up for a particular bird, what is being controlled by the 9700 and why, etc. Your showing the 9700 and its actions which is great, but because of my ignorance into working satellites I’m not sure why? Hello. The entire setup is being controller by the CSN Technologies SAT Controller. This is the black screen displayed on the top left of each video. The SAT Controller controls the location of the rotor, and all frequencies on the radio. If you study the control screen closely you can see all the telemetry data for the satellite and antennas. Then the radio screen shows the Doppler tracking for transmit and receive for comparison. Just compare the approach frequencies and departure frequencies to get a better understanding of the process. 73!!

Absolutely! I made contact with EA1DR in Spain via RS-44 yesterday. I was at 2.5 degrees.

The older icoms work great but I highly suggest saving your pennies and just getting a 700 and be done with it. You won’t be sorry.

This is the interface for the CSN Technologies SAT Controller. It is a stand alone controller for the radio and rotor accessed via web browser
