The 2.7 is a solid engine, I had a Ram with the Hemi prior to owning my 2020 STX, and I don't miss the V8. It's my daily driver, no noticeable difference in power, for what I use the truck for, and the mpg is much better.

I absolutely loved the 2.7 when I had one, the best I could do was 25.7 on the highway, hand calculated, I never trust the trip meter. Around town I could never get past 19 mpg, with decent driving. I currently own a Powerboost and I average about 21 mpg around town, still haven’t taken it for a long drive to see what it does. I just wish Ford would offer the 2.7 as a hybrid option as well.

When I had my 2.7 I remember passing a slow vehicle on a two Lane Highway, to the floor saying come on, come on. The 3.5 on the other doesn't sweat a pass like that. The 2023, 3.5 that I currently have is getting up to 22 mpg on the highway, 15-16 towing a trailer, and 19 with mixed driving which is an improvement from my 2020 where I was lucky to average 17.
