    Once again, Patrick takes us through an Airstream as ONLY HE CAN. No body does such a magnificent job of efficiently demonstrating the features of an Airstream. His demos are almost like watching a ballet.

      Note too (if I remember correctly) that the inexpensive line with single axels, the axels need to be repacked or greased every 3,000 miles. The more expensive models like this have never-lube hubs. BIG DIFFERENCE.

    This is the american icon..not fiberboard junk. ..you can't build this in your backyard..this requires mad tools and skills . Massive resale and last a lifetime..many of these popular campers are approaching Bambi prices now
    . for Styrofoam and something ?
    Just been pointing out airstream
    To a friend timeless also.
    Badass..
    Bonicheli always the best demos on earth..

    That is the best walkthrough tour of any RV I have ever watched. Fantastic job as you covered absolutely everything we could want to know. Maybe someday I will trade my Avion in for a new Airstream, but not just yet although the new creature comforts look enticing.

    Excellent to see that Airstream has upgraded their Solar and battery option to a reasonable size! I’m curious if there are options/plans to increase battery capacity or option in an induction cooktop instead of the propane stove? I’m also curious if the undercarriage for the tanks and batteries is still just 12v heating pads/strips or if they’re ducted yet? This is VERY tempting, I miss my old 23FB, it was great while it lasted! 😎

      Had a manual awning n a non-airstream travel trailer in yr2006. Seriously my main awning has never been manual again. Paying big bucks for these airstream trailers an electric awning is no excuse. 🍻

      @cheetahb5 25 днів тому

      Yeah I saw another Airstream video and it only had like 730lbs of capacity. I don’t get why they are making them with such small cargo capacities. Especially considering that’s before option weights.

    What would be the ideal towing vehicle? Not underpowered or allow sway? Total most likely $200k! If I was going to spend this much it would be with Patrick.

    Someone please enlighten me on the great (expensive) reasons why Airstreams are better. I’m not being cynical. I’m really curious. They seem cramped by not having slides.

    • @lesliebright3860
      @lesliebright3860 25 днів тому +12

      Sure, there’s a lot of campers out there for half the price that have larger fridges, big screen tvs, fireplaces, washer/dryer, lounge chairs/couches, slide-outs for making more elbow room…. But fast forward 8 or 9 years of use, you start to run into campgrounds that won’t let you have a camper over 10 years old because so many people are willing to abandon them, leaving the campground to have to dispose of it. Styles change, and if that was the type of camper you wanted, maybe 10 years later, you’d want something different.
      But an Airstream…. Panache. It’s about the styling. The longevity: many ancient Airstreams are still on the road. The way they’re built lends themselves to repairability. People that love them, tend to keep them a very long time. And there’s a community of kindred spirits, join the Airstream club and go to rallies, travel together on caravans… it’s more of a lifestyle. Often, you’re out away from the camper, traveling to see Yellowstone or the Tetons, and you’re using the camper for a place to sleep and make meals, not really spending all day in the small space.

    • @lesliebright3860
      @lesliebright3860 25 днів тому +1

      Some Airstreams are larger than others; and while few and far between, there were a few made with slide-outs. They were rather heavy, requiring a larger tow vehicle, and didn’t offer ‘that’ much additional space, but at a much greater additional price. So, they retired having slides from their line-up. (They also had a 5th wheel version at one time, but that didn’t last long either.)

      I’d say go see some other campers, then go see an airstream for yourself. If you don’t see the difference buy the cheaper one.

    Are there any plans to do the trade wind in the 16-19 ft range? Almost retired and planning major off grid excursions to Montana, etc. 23ft is a little big for national forest roads.

  • @TheRealThomasPaine1776
    @TheRealThomasPaine1776 8 днів тому +1

    Its definitely over engineered, hence the price. For $127k I'll just buy a cabin by the lake. All trainers, even Airstreams, move down the road and lose value and things fall apart. If I was rich, than maybe
