Maeve was a like a daughter to Ford and Dolores was like a daughter to Arnold yet it is interesting to note that Ford has more in common with Dolores and Arnold/Bernard with Maeve in terms of their drives/goals

what confusion do you have? It all turned out to be a programmed loop for the main character. The whole story is fake news. Dolores' program got to know what to come in some parts of the loop but it won't change anything. William is trapped.

I wonder and worry about the next great show 2 come once GoT ends. I can already feel the emptiness that this show will be leaving in my life!! I suppose the prequels might be worthwhile but i am really connected to so many of the characters in GoT that i think i might find it hard to accept new ones!! Luckily GRRM and HBo are masters of television and storytelling! But once there does seem to be a great show that tries to replace this series, this will be the first channel i look 2 for insight and explanations that i can count on and be entertained by!
I disagree that the season demonstrates that humans can't change. Lee Sizemore was the perfect example that humans can and do change. A point they hammered home with his death especially.

Vintage Summers I thought the same at first but realized that if put into said situation a million times his program would give him this outcome even if he thought it was a deviation from his drives, they aren't. It's to say that what you think is free will isn't, it was always going to be your decision.
Whether someone can change and whether someone has free will are two very different things.

All the hosts were released from cold storage in last seasons finale. Clem led them to attack the board party. So Aki's wife was most likely in the park.
Yeah she told William what her plan was before he shot her, I don't think there's more to it than that.
I read somewhere that Maeve put Kohana's "code" inside her daughter's brain (with her admin access) so that she could go into the Sublime in the daughter's body.
I thought she put a bit of her own code in her. Theoretically, since Maeve could communicate with all hosts, she could theoretically transfer all of them into the Sublime, theoretically even herself.
I don’t think so she seemed to have hope her and her father could still have a relationship because she lost that opportunity with her mother. But when he was truly accusing her of being fake and he started to act insane. She did a very family type argument where she brought up his biggest weakness and lied claiming she just wanted to see him suffer and that she really hated him because she was hurt and desperate. She had some hope for him and as it faded away before her eyes she lashed out with hatred and anger just like her father

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that they let them loose at a beach where they would be rescued by other humans.
Not really sure what you meant about inconsistencies at the end.
Bernard finishes Strand's sentence because he's reliving the memory and has already experienced it. He didn't actually finish it the first time it happened.
Same with him "predicting" the flood. The flood has already happened, and he remembers it, but he's reliving memories that happened prior to it.
As for what Dolores said about Teddy, she was just wrong. It's not an inconsistency to say something that doesn't end up happening.
So, much of what we witness - especially from Bernard's scenes - is just him going through his memory logs? I guess you could take it a little further out with some of the other scenes since he could, theoretically, have tapped into the camera feeds around the parks.

And since Charlores escaped with multiple host pearls, Teddy could be one of them and the story could still end with Dolores and Teddy in a future season.
Mike Thompson Nah any host who entered the Valley Beyond had their pearl wiped entirely. Opening scene of ep6.
I agree. When she is lying with dead teddy, a scene shows her taking the bulb with Teddy's brain and the flattened bullet against it with her. What is interesting is that the same bullet ends up in Williams gun. That is something very weird. How does one not notice a mushed out bullet. Why would he put it in the revolver again and again?
Anyone else want Stubbs to be human? Cause there is practically no likable human on the show anymore besides William. Ford and Elsie are dead.
I keep thinking he would have been well cast in Star Wars. He's Luke Skywalkerish.....

Yep that is why he didn't try to run or hurt any hosts even when he's captured or on verge of death. It always felt weird to me why he's not resisting or fighting being the head of security of crazy park.

YESSS finally somebody mentions that show is criminally underrrrated.
Again, an excellent explanation, and a very well edited and produced video.
One issue I caught was towards the end, with humans not being able to change, and being violent. Felix wasn't seen much, but he's one of the few good characters in the show. And amazingly, the odd couple survive to the end of S2. He's a counterpoint.
As usual even with all my hours of diving into theories, you always manage to dredge up some amazing new content and ideas.

I remember having to watch The Matrix 7 times before I was satisfied that
I understood all the details and even then
had to be alerted to Jean Baudrillard's book, "Simulation and Simulacra"
(in which Neo stashed the illegal LSD simulation software he had written
to help alleviate the boredom of the pod bound minds whose lives
were controlled too much by the system) and
a few other details the went right past me.

A bunch of hosts were released in the end of season 1, just before ford died ( by ford himself), that explain why kohana was seen in the "paradise" in the end.
Finally! Thanks for this man. The fact that the video is only 11 mins, really shows how this show took a slight turn in season 2.

I hope they address the other parks in the future. I mean, what the hell happened there while the Robot Apocalypse was gearing up? None of the hosts outside of Westworld made it to the Sublime.
Exactly, what the hell has been going on in the other four parks this whole time?
Have none of the other hosts been given inner voices where they achieve consciousness? Why only Bernard and Dolores? are they the truly conscious hosts?
What about the humans in the other parks? Wouldn't their be just as many?
I wished they were explained in the season 2 'cause I aint watching no more west world crap no more, I have very limited time to watch tv shows and rather spend it on something more entertaining.
I just realised was there really no human guest in shogunworld?
I can honestly forgive them stuff like this:
1. Narratively speaking: the Japanese hosts chose to stay in shogun world. Japan Maeve chose not to be woken up so she that her love for Japan daughter wouldn’t be impacted by ‘reality’. In terms of Raj World- none of the hosts there had any character development, ok maybe there’d be some fan service to include some people in Japanese and Indian clothes running towards the sublime if they did that people would probably be asking ‘hey where did these guys even come from?’
2. MAIN REASON: shows like westworld are super expensive to make. Building more sets for Raj world and shogun world, paying more actors to play characters from these worlds, time taken shooting these extra scenes takes money and time (which also equals money). I’m sure Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy thought about stuff like this but sadly to keep shoes in budget and within the allotted number of episodes some less narratively important stuff like this, which was pretty much just fan service in the first place, has to be cut. Just the way things are. It doesn’t keep me up at night.
The Wood I remember seeing a guest who said he came from China to enjoy this park and then a host cuts the guest's throat. I think there were guests in shogunworld but not as many as the original and centered park.
The Leftovers is criminally underwatched, it’s genuinely the best tv show I’ve ever seen and I think your style of video would fit it very well.

Well, this was a new experience. I've binged your entire season 2 explanation playlist, without watching any of the S2 episodes!
I've heard that the quality is a little lower in S2, and drops off steeply in S3, so I can't really be bothered to keep watching beyond S1. But I was still a little curious about S2, enough to want to hear the Cliff Notes. So, thank you for making these videos!
What I really disliked about this Season 2 was how the QA Force and Extraction Teams were really incompetent and terrible at fighting! They are mercenaries against normal androids (although some knew how to fight)... c'mon they aren't freaking Terminators!!! Also, Fares Fares' character was wasted! Ultimately, I liked the season, but I feel the writers were trying to make it 'too' much full of twists when they could just focus on the story!

Do to cut backs in security in the corporation. They had to Lowe recruiting standards.
My theory is that the security are hosts. Stubbs seems like a host at the end and they were also incompetent in season 1.
Sometimes they feel like stormtroopers to me, there is a big target riding on horses & security with their automatic guns trained for securing stuff, still gets shot by a age old shortgun or revolver.
That really irked me as well. They would rarely come out on top against those bullpop rifles in real life, yet every time a revolver that never needs reloading as well as a rifle with the same attributes goes up against them it was the complete opposite. It just felt so incredibly ridiculous that the hosts just walked over trained teams of security at every turn.
I haven't really followed the reactions to this season, everyone hates it?
I thought it was great.
No, a minority of people hate it, because they can't follow 2 different time-frames.

I loved it! But it did get a bit chaotic in some parts. For me it felt like the writers wanted to avoid the viewers to guess the twists and ending, so they made it very cryptic with a lot of misdirection and that hurt the flow of the story and final payout
Martin Simeonov 2 different time-frames is not the problem with season 2. Compare to season 1, this season is mediocre as a whole.

The one thing I do get confused by in this show is the concept that a self aware host can change but a human can't.
A self aware host is just a human, they feel want, love and anger. Which means they'd be trapped in the same loops as humans. All the arguments against human free will are based on human feelings after all.
They both lack free will or both have free will it's not a pick or mix.

I mean if he was left in the westworld by young William and supposedly gone insane cuz of the sun, then how ((i assume much later ,because William is not the innocent boy he was portrayed in season 1)) Logan is talking with his father about the drug abuse?

It's without doubt that humans can change. The conclusion that I came to is that the failure of the Forge (it's failure to see that humans can change) is because it was designed by broken humans. Charlotte and the other Delos employees are single minded and ruthless. They won't budge or change. The Forge came to the inevitable conclusion that these people are trapped. Maybe something is wrong in how the Forge was coded. Maybe it is broken in the same way the humans who made it are broken.
Westworld normally has great writing and for them to make the point of the story that humans can't change seemed absurd to me. Maybe that is the point of this season, to show the failings of the humans in this story. Or maybe the very writers of the show have a bleak and small minded view of humanity. I don't know. But I was quite shaken by the conclusion of the show. That means either the writers succeeded in giving me that impression or their writing that was once the best television has to offer has become small minded and unimaginative

Please PLEASE please do *The* *Sopranos.* That show is amazing and, i mean the first episode starts with him being in a psychiatrists office, that right there is a sign saying, yep this show is made for great thinkers such as Alt Shift X who can be the psychiatrist of the show its self and *OMG* has the ending caused a scene that deserves an entire Alt Shift X series to be dissected on that episode alone.
Honestly i have lost count how many times i have watched The Sopranos. I swear to god i will finish it and within a few months i am missing it again and have to start watching again. I have done this several times a year since it finished every year. So i have probably watched it more than 30 times from start to finish. I just can't find anything that matches the quality of that show, it is better than LOST, better than Breaking Bad, better than The Wire, it is just amazing considering it was a TV show, it was more like watching an extremely long movie broken down in to small segments than watching a TV show. I know i am going to watch it again soon so it would absolutely brilliant if you was to watch it along at the same time so i could watch your videos along with it giving it something else new to love about it.

I really enjoyed these videos and look forward to them accompanying season 3. I definitely thought though that Teddy was Stubbs in their final scene. Just with the dynamic, a protecting dynamic, between Stubbs/Teddy and Charloress gave me that impression

William never got his chance to change, he rejected Emily because he thought she was a host. She was acting odd because she had found his profile from the park so he had every right to be suspicious. In fact her goal was not to repair the relationship, but to destroy him by revealing what was happening in the park. He started his redemption, befriending Laurence with his fresh start, then Mave got in the way. A disappointing end for probably the second most interesting character in the series.
