Vice city had a smaller map, a smaller story and you could pretty much enjoy the entire game within 6-8 hours if you would like. The vibes of the lights and the map in itself are easy to explore. Almost all the missions are easy so you don't get stuck. In SA, the problem only lies is it's too large to complete. And trust me on this. Majority of players could never get out of los santos and thought that the game only consists of the hood and the gangwar. They never went to las vegas or san Francisco bridge or even went ahead till flight school. The game had a lot to offer and probably many people found this game too difficult to play, and also it had its hardware limitation maybe. My 12 year old laptop used to lag back in the days when I tried installing san Andreas on it. It had like 2 gb ram and had a hard time.
San Andreas nails so many things right. People you thought of friends end up becoming enemies, people who you thought were enemies become friends. The balance of giving the player enough side activities without overstuffing it. The fact you can get fat, stay skinny or get muscle open up ways to express CJ differently. 3 different cities with their own different takes, making them feel very different from each other adds to the size of the map that is actually not as big as we remembered. Also anyone who's ever played on PC can't forget San Andreas Multiplayer mod that let you play with 500+ players on a server. I feel like the mods of SA are very overlooked. Design Your Own Mission where you can make your own storyline and missions with full voice acting, cutscenes and more. It's a timeless and limitless game pretty much.
It takes itself so seriously as a world and doesn't slack in any way, everything connects and everything exists for a reason. Something that blew my mind was that my CJ was too fat to start a mission, and when I walked into the icon to start it. The mission giver was like "lose some weight fatass and come back here later" It would have been so easy for rockstar to just make a "lose some weight" blimp instead of animating a whole cutscene for it, but it just goes to show how detailed this game is
Forever my favorite game of all time. GTA San Andreas was THE game that introduced me to video games, so it'll always be the most important game in my life 🔥
san andreas is the first gta game that I played in 2006 with some of my friends in our college's computer, I was 18 back then and 18 years later I'm in my mid 30's and I'm still learning new things about this game often. it blew my mind when I completed black project mission almost a year after I started playing san andreas, I cannot describe the feeling and the happiness when I entered the interior of area 69 for the first time in 2007 and before that I got the pleasure to discover the most beautiful and calm countryside that a video game ever produced, the most wonderful city of this game in my opinion san fierro and my favourite part of the map the desert. still to this day I wonder if rockstar gave us 2/3 more missions in the desert that would've been awesome. and in the radio k-rose is my favourite station of this game, the myths, swimming for the first time in a gta game, player customisation, car modding this game has everything and most importantly in 2004 on ps2 era. man this video bring tears to my eyes, I hope all of my friends are doing well and like me they are still playing the greatest gta game of all time san andreas. happy 20th birthday to san andreas in advance, you will forever be in our heart.. #CJRememberTheName😎❤️
Wow thanks for sharing your personal experience with the game! Black Project is a super memorable mission and I agree San Fierro is the best city It's very clean and modern feeling! Love the comment buddy have a great day
*i was exclusively a sports and fighting gamer in the late 90's/early 2000's but when GTA:SA came out in 2004, it changed how I view open world gaming forever 👌 its literally the PROTOTYPE for what an open world game should be and IMO is the greatest game ever made 🙌 I have the remastered trilogy and I'm still Amazed at how much they got right about this game in 2004. Bully is another game I consider top 10, very similar to San Andreas in multiple ways. if GTA6 wants to succeed, they'll take a hard look at San Andreas, Bully, Midnight Club and mirror as many of those open world elements as possible* 👍
San Andreas is oddly perfect. The same for GTA IV, that games story just drags you in! Whats funny aswell is that the gameplay has aged heavily on both those titles! I play racing games only pretty much today and the reason is nothing really hits like these old story games! The last game that really grabbed me was the Mafia remake which was an intense and unreal experience. Gaming is not fun anymore, every game is a safe made for the widest audience mess.
As a kid I saved my lunch money for months an got gta 4 on the ps3 without telling my parents about it and got the game taken away from me and till this day I never got it back
I never really stopped playing san andreas just took long breaks. I feel like I owe a lot of who I am to this game. I'm not really a native english speaker but growing up having put literal thousands of hours of gameplay in this game and watching all the cutscenes even though I understood nothing helped me become a better speaker (even though half the game is just cussing) and opened up gaming for me to discover more stuff and made gaming a huge part of my life I can't believe its been 20 years it almost feels like yesterday when I was 6/7 years old playing the co-op ps2 mode with my older brother having fun and causing chaos. And even now when I think that I'm looking at this game through pink tinted glassess it still holds up objectively as one of the greatest experiences
i find it funny that GTA 5 tried to replicate GTA SA iconic-ness while still maintaining it's stance in the HD Universe. But still failed due to hardware limitations and weird design choices. GTA SA isn't just perfect, it's ahead of it's time. And GTA 6 has yet to fill in the same shoes as it's 20 year old 3D Universe counterpart.
i get excited when i get a notification saying just1n uploaded a video. and when i see its about gta, you put a smile on my face. keep up the good work pal.
I really like San Andreas, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if my first experience with it wasn’t the fucking “Definitive Edition.” (Possibly the most ironic title ever)
Well I preferred the definitive edition for some reasons like checkpoint saving, or driving physics. That's all. It was my first play through as well although I did play san Andreas when I was like 6-7 years old but I never got out of los santos sadly.
Funny I came across this after I literally reinstalled this game and downgraded it to the v1.0 two days ago. I’ve modded it to be similar to the PS2 version with a more up to date controls on my PC and I’m having so much fun going down this nostalgic trip.
a game i'll probably never get to legitimately buy cause of the game being listed off in every stores... 😔 (god i hope they make another event where they give away gta san andreas original for free)
I remember trying to play GTA San Andreas on PC during the event when it was free on the Rockstar Launcher, but I found the controls to be really buggy. Did you play it on PC too, or did you use another platform?
Yeah I played it on PC but I used a fan made patch that fixed the PC Port on modern hardware Its linked in the description! There's fixer packs for the rockstar version too
@@CrackedJust1n Thanks! I'll try it out later. If it works, then I'm finally able to play it on PC. I only played it on mobile about 10 years ago, but unfortunately, it’s no longer compatible with newer Android versions
When I say this I mean no disrespect I can't bring myself to say this game I'd above 7/10 the only good thing in my mind is the story and I don't even really pay attention to that the game play sucks the driving drifty as hell the lock on sucks the aiming is sensitive as hell the camera sensitive as hell the missions are annoying they all feel the same go somewhere pew pew mission passed is most of them I'm just kinda playing it its not fun but not unfun it's just eh I hate the driving with a passion and this was my second gta game my first was gta 4 didn't like then gta San Andreas didn't like it gta 5 didn't like it I had to force through gta 5 gta 4 never beat and I'm on my way to beating gta San Andreas and trust me I don't need dopamine 100% of the time I've beaten rdr2 18 times on 2 different consoles 1000 hours combined 800 on ps5 200 on Xbox
I know people love san andreas but personally ive always the gameplay has (compared to IV) aged very poorly shooting just feels really wonky and stiff for me and the cars feels like spin around so easily and also theres alot of missions that sre just bad like the train mission or og loc and i just loose all interest in the story after the countryside section because it feels like they went from having a somewhat grounded gangster story to koo koo bananas Cj shenanigans. Although i think most of my complaints come from me beating gta 4 first and having that be what gta is in my mind
I do have to give praise though for 1 the fact it has k-rose one of the best stations in the series and also for the Los Santos part of the games story which feels like it did somewhat pave the way for the more character driven and series rooted in dark reality story of gta iv.
GTA San Andreas is timeless. It’ll always be my favourite game.
such a good choice to have as an all time favorite
Idk why, but I always preferred Vice City, probably nostalgia related.
my strange ass preferred III because it was the one i mainly grew up on when i was real young
can highly relate with you, never knew why I preferred vice city over SA
every GTA is a valid favorite 100%
Vice city had a smaller map, a smaller story and you could pretty much enjoy the entire game within 6-8 hours if you would like. The vibes of the lights and the map in itself are easy to explore. Almost all the missions are easy so you don't get stuck.

i too prefer Vice City, as well as the soundtrack. I played San Andreas way before Vice City as a young child, so it’s a little bit different for me

Bully and San Andreas are both fire games I completely agree friend, they set the foundation for what an open world SHOULD be
RDR2 took alot from Bully they need to pull from RDR2, Bully, maxpayne 3, The Warriers and San andreas.

Red Dead Redemption 2.

I see V glazed more. I thought 4 was underrated...
None of them are glazed i think all the games are great and gets the same praise overall its based on personal preference.
