Walk around of DC fire engines at the fleet shop

  • This was a quick walk around of several different apparatus parked outside of the DC fire departments shop in SW DC. Many appear to be ready to be sold or scrapped, and also some spares. You also get to see some of their very old E-One and Pierce engine's. The rest is Seagrave's and even their wrecker. It was a windy day, so please excuse the occasional wind.
    I plan on doing more of these as the weather gets nicer, and when there are multiple apparatus parked outside.

      Yes they have. My guess is a lot of them were going to be scrapped.

      The pierce at about 6 10 looks to be going

    I want that fire department tow truck driver job lol 😂 their rigs look pretty cool like FDNYs tow trucks.

    did the pierce and e one both get scrapped? i know alot of the pierce dash pumpers are either with the department and one was sold and repurposed

      I'm sure the E-One was scraped, the Pierce could go either way. These rigs are beat to hell during their lives, lots of calls and bad roads. But they could serve a small department with not much money, especially with the insane cost of apparatus today.
