Hello and welcome to my channel! I post various videos of fire apparatus primarily in Washington, DC.
DCFD on the scene of a single vehicle accident
Hello everyone, it's been a while. I know it has been months since I last uploaded, but I have been so busy at work I haven't had time to go out and try to get footage. I miss filming videos, and plan to get back into it again soon as I'm not as busy at work, and hopefully it will get a bit warmer. I have lots of stations I want to film, and of course film any call I can. So thank you for sticking around!
This was a single vehicle accident, a car vs a light pole. There was one occupant who sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. This happened in the 1100 block 21rst NW in the West End neighborhood. On scene is Engine 1, Truck 2, Rescue 1, Medic 1, a few unmarked DCFD cars, and one police vehicle.

This is in the Chinatown/Penn Quarter station in downtown Washington DC. Definitely one of th more iconic stations due to being across the street from Capital One Arena and being a brutalist style building.
DCFD on the scene of a small fire
Переглядів 3,3 тис.Рік тому
DCFD responded to a small apartment fire in the Cathedral Heights area of Washington, DC. I got there as apparatus were still arriving, and the sunsetting. Several lines were pulled, but it appeared only one was in operation. The response included Engine 20, 21, 23, 28, 29, 31 ladder truck 12 and 5, Air Unit 1, Squad 1, plus numerous BC's, fire investigator, and EMS supervisor.

Walk around of FDNY utility vehicle and engine 65 responding
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Рік тому
While walking by FDNY engine 65's quarters, there were two of these Polaris utility vehicles outside waiting to respond. One actually did, but it caught me off guard and I didn't get it filmed. Sorry for the lack of uploads, I have lots of short clips filmed, just need more footage to actually make videos.
Walking around the DCFD fleet shop
Переглядів 10 тис.Рік тому
I took a walk around the DCFD fleet shop, and lots of action on the street. Truck 42 was getting ready to be towed, while the mobile FWD/Seagrave repair truck was there working on engine 14. Also the command truck and some of other apparatus were parked around the building.
DCFD Truck 12 and brand new Engine 5 picking up from a scene
Переглядів 3,9 тис.Рік тому
There was a very small fire (I assume kitchen fire) and a strong smell of smoke. In less than 10 minutes I arrived, and they were packing up. Here you get to see the brand new Seagrave Engine 5, it's about a month old. It replaces a Peirce that was really showing its age. You can see a video of the old one in my channel, and I'm working on getting a video of the new Seagrave as soon as I can.

Bomb squad truck catches fire, and some DCFD apparatus on scene of a suspicious package
Переглядів 893Рік тому
I was filming a suspicious package response, from an an empty unit in an apartment building that was next door. As nobody was allowed to walk around outside, I thought I would film a higher vantage point to get some aerial shots. I filmed the apparatus, then watched the bomb technician inspect the package, and everyone was given the all clear. As I was watching most apparatus leave the screen, ...
Vice President and President's motorcade's

The first part is the Vice President's motorcade, then the Presidential one. The only thing missing is the dozen or so motorcycles before each one. Both filmed in DC.
DCFD picking up from an incident
Переглядів 2,7 тис.Рік тому
There was a call for a fire in an apartment building, but it appears no line was charged, just one stretched. The response was big, but by the time I got there and found it (the streets are very odd in this area) there was just 3 apparatus left, and ambulance a block away. However we get to see Truck 5 (Palisades), which is an ALF/LTI. This might be the last one left in the city, or there is on...
Quick walk around of DCFD Truck 2
Переглядів 3,2 тис.Рік тому
I was walking by the West End fire station in DC and saw truck 2 was sitting outside. It looked like they were just wrapping up doing training on it. As an update for the lack of videos recently, I have been trying to film more, but every time I hang out outside of a station for an hour or so, nothing happens. There also haven't been many fires by where I live either to film. Which is all a goo...

Good stuff, looking forward to more videos!
Awesome Catch! Rescue Squad 1 recently got their new Rescue.
heres some history of the lafrance tiller: Its a 2013 american lafrance og built for PFD, but it was rejected for some reason and is now serving DCFD, its the only one of its kind in DCFD
I wonder if this piece is gonna be a spare or if there gonna auction it off. Most likely auctioned off and keeping the rescue 3 pierce
Awesome footage! Love the newer Seagraves, especially with the DVI function on the lights. That's because there is a light sensor mounted somewhere in the cab. It senses daytime or nighttime.

Ladder 5 was from Philadelphia if I’m not mistaken…
It was, and is still in front line service.
Wow! A Really old truck!
Those old 06 seagrave pumpers are starting to look pretty rough. I remember when they were still frontline
Tell me about it lol. Not as bad as the two ALF's they have left. It seems they are buying more Seagraves instead of Pierce, so hopefully those old pumpers will be replaced with new Seagraves.
@@austinlawler3739 they still have alf engines??
@@hagerstownredline5274 yup, truck 5 (I have a video of it that was shot in January, it's in the thumbnail) and an engine. I don't know if the engine is frontline, but truck 5 still is. ALF went out of business in what, 2010 or 2011? So it's old and is beat to hell.
@@austinlawler3739 alf went out of business in 2014 and the tiller is a 2013 so it shouldn’t be too bad. I thought you meant like alf pumpers
@@hagerstownredline5274 ah, good to know. I didn't know when, I thought it was around that time. Then if it is that age, it's got a couple years left in her. But it is beat to hell on the exterior
Way to go dcfd responding your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks don't work to hard love you guys thanks great looking tiller trucks and fire engines like the style you guys rock thanks ! Joe
Nice catch. Love the use of the Whelen air horn on the tiller
Jesus saves
I wish more of the newer tillers had green rotorays like the older Spartans and seagraves have
Sharp looking rigs. Love the unusual color. Thanks.
They are suprisingly still using the e one rescue as a spare suprisingly and im shocked
They still have a couple of old E-One Hurricanes. Hazmat, the second piece of the foam unit, a squad, and I think something else. Basically just specialty apparatus with less calls still use them.
At the time of typing this I’m pretty sure the old e one hazmat was Already sold, that truck was a 1993 box and chassis so it served a long time in the fleet
did the pierce and e one both get scrapped? i know alot of the pierce dash pumpers are either with the department and one was sold and repurposed
I'm sure the E-One was scraped, the Pierce could go either way. These rigs are beat to hell during their lives, lots of calls and bad roads. But they could serve a small department with not much money, especially with the insane cost of apparatus today.
Who's in the unmarked Chevy Suburban?
Not 100% sure. I would assume some high rank member like a deputy chief or something like that. I thought the same thing when I was filming, but there was no indication on who they were.
In the second clip, the limo isn't flying any flags nor bearing the Presidential seal, additionally, someone is flying a British flag in the crowd. Was this en route to JBA to then fly to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral by any chance? On our end, in the UK, the limo wasn't flying any flags either.
This was President Biden visiting the The British Embassy (the building in the background) to sign a card for the Queens death. I have never seen flags on a presidential motorcade in DC. The motorcades are slightly different in DC then outside of the DC metro area.
Liked and shared 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
Nice sounding Q siren; many departments have them but don't use them.
But they are expensivee
@@dr7coo_ So is the truck. Departments spend money on ornamental items like excessive graphics, bells, etc but skimp on sirens.
@@owensweetland342 decorations and ornaments are no where near the cost of sirens/ installing them, especially Qs
@@owensweetland342and most turcks don't even have bells or excessive graphics

Sharp looking SEAGRAVE'S. Thanks.
Are those all EV's?
No, there are no ev's in any motorcade
they probably can't rely on EV's yet
Very cool capture
I want that fire department tow truck driver job lol 😂 their rigs look pretty cool like FDNYs tow trucks.
Was that phlidelphia ladder bought by DCFD or donated
The American Lafrance was originally supposed to be assigned to Ladder Co 23 of philly FD but was rejected by philly when ALF just shut down and I believe LTC finished the truck and DCFD bought it.
@@southingtonfirebuff1314 whats LTC
@@emergencyresponsevideosand4423 Ladder Tower Company that company was previously owned by American La France but spartan bought the company after ALF shut down
didnt know we had these though we just used tillers nice video either way

Truck 5 was also a reject from a Philly Order.
No kidding, never knew that.

TRUMPS TOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boring contentb
Where does it respond from? And does it respond like the DC foam task force?
I'm not 100% sure where it's based, but if I had to guess it is based at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. I only ever see it on standby for Marine 1 and Marine 2 (when the VP is on it). Being that DC has an ARFF truck as well with the foam task force like you said, this apparatus probably doesn't respond much in the city.

First due to the White House! Nice catch!
