Brother Firas, Hijab and Subboor helped me out tremendously and made me decide to finally revert to Islam.

Brother Firas is one of the hidden gems of the Dawah. May Allah swt reward him.
I respect Firas a lot but don't take his horrible advice on diet apart from the beneficial fasting. The comments made on 'flesh foods' were complete vegan propaganda which has been refuted many times and is actually laughed at. This idea of not eating meat or animal products is a façade, bioavailability of nutrients is far higher in animal products because they are already converted into the absorbable form within the animal. For example, beta carotene is the precursor of the absorbable form of vitamin A retinol. The former is found in vegetables and fruit, the latter in animal products. The conversion rate of the former into the latter, once ingested by a human, is not as efficient as just ingesting retinol itself. The same situation is in the omega 3's absorbability from plants and nuts etc, ALA, relative to the bioavailability of omega 3 from animal, primarily fish, products or EPA and DHA. The former is far more ineffective when compared to the latter for human functioning.

Alhamthullila this brother’s understanding of the science of combat sport is 100% on point. Never thought I would ever see anyone who would have this kind of extensive and in depth philosophical logic of these arts. In fact never thought anyone like him existed in the real world. Very humble and intellectually on another level. No wonder his one of the best trainers in the world. The world needs more individuals like this man. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@@dhuss14 Many thanks Brother Hussein for that valuable data on diet. However I was praising brother Firas on his understanding of the logic of combat sports. Since I’m a passionate student on most martial arts since the age of 6, I’m now 47. You can say my experience in that arena is probably above average. I can quite confidently say this bloke knows exactly what he is talking about on the art of fighting. As for his dietary advice, he did say everyone’s body is different. It wasn’t advise he was giving, it was his opinion on what diet works for him. In which I strongly agree with. Simply because that is exactly how I manage my body. Bear in mind some the top consultants in world listen to what I have to say on how to manage our bodies optimally. It’s all about trial and error fused in with listening to how our body reacts in different environments. Again many thanks 🙏🙏🙏
@@dhuss14 I’m afraid you’re wrong. Check out prof David sinClaire, he’s a professor at Harvard and his speciality is longevity. Protein increases Mtor which can cause cancer and other health issues, carbs spike insulin which leads to insulin resistance, diabetes, causes inflammation etc. you can offset the 2 somewhat by fasting. But ultimately, if your goal is longevity when it comes to health, then reducing protein and carbs is key.
@@dhuss14 yeah i did not understand that part that seemed like a very debatable or controversial stance for him to be so sure about and also with running he really downplayed the huge benefits of running on basic health
@@dhuss14 agreed completely. His whole advice, other than intermittent fasting, was pretty horrendous. Anyone on his diet recommendation will develop insulin resistance in no time.

Since then, I have digged into the subject of intermittent fasting, started practicing it myself and made tremendous improvement regarding my body. I was far too fat 2 years ago ( I was having a weight problem for having quieted smoking. I compensated by eating a lot, far too much and no control over it ). The last interview with Mister Zahabi ( 2019 ) was going to change my life and my way of eating forever. I am duty bound to thank you for both these interviews. The former is far more ineffective when compared to the latter for the human.
@@dhuss14 Hello Dahir,
I really appreciate your response. I don't really have a leg to stand on and argue against your statements regarding biology and all that with meat and how it's processed or whatever versus vegetables, but I disagree in your statement claiming that it is vegan propaganda. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but I can tell you that from my own experience I have eaten excessive amounts of meat and cheese the majority of my life growing up into adulthood and not until I met my fiance who encouraged me to cut back on meat. I can tell you that personally I can attest to the stuff Firas is talking about. It may be a little extreme, but I mean... He is a freaking extreme trainer and his fighters are some of the most successful in business and they speak extremely high of him and really show submission to his coaching in every aspect of training for fighting professionally. There's only a handful of fighting trainers in my own opinion that I think get that kind of reverance so displayed from their pupils, especially publicly. He made a very solid point, though it came off from him as being a little inconsequenal, but a true statement at that.. Everyone is different. I could down a large pizza and be happy the next day, many other people would spend the next day on the toilet. I think you are very educated on the subject, I'm really not, but I feel like he is genuine and correct. I could be wrong, but that's my feeling. I really appreciate your response tho!

I learned about Dr.Jason Fung in 2019( 32 years old at that time ) when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes my A1C was 8.7 (alarmingly high) my doctor put me on 3 medicines and I wasn't feeling good at all, I tried the water fasting for 12 straight days and changed my diet to internment fasting, my A1C dropped to 5.6 (normal levels) in less than 3 months.

@Dahir Hussein Dr. Jeff Volek on Ketogenic Diets and Athletic Performance. Just watched his video, after this one. I do keto myself and intermittent fasting. And have trained HIIT in a fasted state, follow Thomas Delauer on that. And Dr. Berg and Dr Jason Fung on Keto, low carb diets and intermittent fasting. Brother Firas has not done his research thoroughly or chosen not to. Plus looks like, he loves eating carbs. Not much one can say to that, as the choice of high carb is not based on scientific research, more to do with wants and more of an addiction almost. No offence intended. But just being honest and factual.😊
@@dhuss14 He didn't say to go without meat conpletely, precisely due to the reasons you mentioned. That's why he advices to eat less meat, so you will still get the necessary nutrition that you would otherwise not get from a plant based diet. It's also a fact that eating too much meat is harmful. In the past meat wasn't easily available and would only be consumes once in a while.
I've got to say, as a huge fan of Firas Zahabi I clicked on the video the day it was uploaded and that got me more of your videos recommended. At some point I didn't like your style in most of the debates I saw, but someone in the comment section pointed me toward some others. However, I somehow got redirected to Ali in some weird twist of fate and have been binging his videos and learning a tooooooon more about Islam than I knew before, and also have found some really beautiful interactions he's had (and some of yours as well that really helped me understand the origin perspective I was having and my lack on context). So this video really reignited my curiosity about and interest in Islam, so I've really got to thank you for that. Also, I watched the conversation you had with Peterson right after I saw this video and again, really got me onto the path of curiosity. Maybe someday I'll be Muslim, but maybe not. The more I learn, the more I'm inclined to the idea though, so thanks again for the content (and sorry I didn't like you at some point haha)!

@@dhuss14 I get what you’re saying but the examples that he gave out of flesh foods was from studies that he read for examples that tribes that only ate fish and their cause of death was not heart attacks but was from cancerous diseases, he wasn’t saying that his ideas are 100 right he is just expressing his thoughts
Ever thought of doing like a quran compilation for Ramadan, mashallah your voice is very nice to listen to

@@dhuss14 well said, how did you know all of this? the counter argument here i guess would be that with the multiplicity of animals, the proportionality of attaining the nutrients is of a lower proportionality than that of plants. With plants you eat less to obtain more in terms of proportionality.
Great talk! I hope you start posting podcasts like this on apple podcasts, I use that app and would love if I can access your content on it. Jazak Allah khair.

I love listening to Firas and John Danaher so much.
I love you for the sake of Allah bro. Jazakallah Khayr to you and your friends
My fav duo in the whole world
• Absolutely don’t Daley or miss you SALAH preyer, and daily reading of the Great QURAN
• 2 meals no more ( let your body rest)
• 16 hours no eating (with drinks that’s don’t spur insulin)
• 5-7 litres of water 💧 throughout the day
• 8 hours of sleep 🛌
• 1/2 hours of FAST walking 🚶
• 0 amount of Hydrogenated oils, corn, palm, and sunflower oils that increase bad cholesterol (LDL), reduce good cholesterol (HDL), and instead use olive, sesame, avocado, and coconut oils
• Don’t eat Fully as Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) instructed 1/3 for food 1/3 for drinks 1/3 for breath
• Absolutely Avoid Sugar
• Meals should include a bite of everything
• Absolutely avoid stress and anger because with these two nothing works (remember everything WILL pass)
Insha’Allah that’s good way of life and good health
great advice i had to screen shot. Thanks
5-7 litres is way over the top
8 hours of sleep is too many i think, Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his companions did sleep for 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 of night. Then after Dhuhr time they had a little nap which is quite beneficial for health.
5-7 liter water? Hahaha you serious
@@Dailydeenshorts ahaha you serious? Can't you act normal and share your opinion on that?
i really enjoy listening to firas. he has such an eloquent way of deconstructing complicated topics. his explanation of allah being objective and the dunya being the subjective component is beautiful. may allah protect firas. thank you for having him on MH.

@@dhuss14 I don't think what he's saying is that crazy. I'm a 28 year old male. I'm not super active. From what I've seen here, he'd probably tell me to eat mostly fruits veggies healthy carbs and eat meat around 3x / wk. I don't see how that's bad advice
@@dhuss14 he's not advocating for veganism. I think he's right when he says that we eat too much meat

1. He said eat less meat, everybody eats too much meat noways, people eat too much food in general, he never said do not eat meat
2.Meat products nowdays, have been pumped up with all kinds of hormones and chemicals, which make them alot more unhealthy for your body, eating alot of meat, plus the meat being unhealthy, is a disaster waiting to happen
@@AM-bm9rs The meat isn't the major issue, yes there are adulterations in the meat, but what is far worse is the processed carbohydrates, soybean oil, Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals and more.
