Hi! I'm Chantel and I live with my family over on the Canadian prairies. We love to snuggle up with good books all winter long so you'll see lots of books here along with our homeschool stuff.

We have had a lot of sickness lately so we haven't been able to do a lot of school BUT I would say my girls are really loving "Fix it Grammar". We are trying out two different grammar programs and I haven't been able to start the second one because... sickness...
But, we also have been enjoying "Mary Cassat" as our Artist. Her paintings are so homey. We have a "Getting to know the Greatest Artist" book for her.
We have also been loving "Classic Starts" Sherlock Holmes 🎉❤
Ps- I have four kids (11 year old girl, 9 year old girl, 6 year old boy, 3 year old girl). We look forward to your CM guides!

I love Mary Cassat, I love that you are studying her, I should see if I can get my hands on some of those Getting to Know the Artist books, we've gotten a couple from the library over the years but it would be nice to own a few.
Also, I really need to look at the IEW site, I think there are a few things I'd like to order from there, I'll look into Fix it Grammar.

We're on our summer break. I plan on starting up again in July. A friend loaned me some books to try out. My kids really enjoyed Scripture Sleuth, A Penny's Worth of Character, and the Christian Heroes book about David Livingstone.

Yay timeline 🎉 I want to add a church history book too - I’ve got to jot down that title.
Robin Hood is SO fun! We did the audiobook for the original so I didn’t have to stumble, but the language was Regina part of the fun!
So fun to check out all that you are doing! You are a perfect resource to create guides with a Charlotte Mason books style 🙌
Will keep our eyes peeled :)

Considering how short it is, I was kind of surprised to hear that Call of the Wild has a young reader’s version. I haven’t read it myself, so it could be because of the language, but I just thought that was interesting.
Yikes, reading Robin Hood sounds like reading Shakespeare! I understand why you’re struggling to read it out loud.

Yeah, the original Call of the Wild is pretty short, the copy we have of the original has really small font and since my fifth grader has dyslexia I thought the Classic Starts would be good for him since the font is bigger. This next year I want to see if I can get the classics I want him to read via ebook and get him started reading that way so we can change the font type and increase the size.

We're combining under the Home 2nd grade Nature with art so we're really enjoying painting insects right now. We're also reading Giant Killer and everyone is really getting into that. Excited for your guides!

Maybe try guest Hollow for science and history. It is literature-based and all you have to pull up is the schedule and you get to pick and choose what books activities and videos want to watch for science can be gotten the library or offered books or free online. We don’t follow it, Word for Word or never on point with the weeks, however just a good guideline and a good assortment of choices for each subject.
