Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through UA-cam videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!

The American tourist is Bruce Boa, who was born in Canada. He played General Rieekan in the film The Empire Strikes Back and General Peterson in Octopussy, plus many other roles.

The captions were John Cleese's intro to the first episode of Not the Nine O'Clock News, which he did in character as Basil.
8:03 that actor is one of the few to appear in two episodes. He also wants a "scotch and water please" in the first episode.

Boa's most notable film role is in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) as General Rieekan. [per Wilkpedia]. He also appeared in Full Metal Jacket, but, although Canadian, tended to play Yanks in British film and TV productions.
The actor who played Mr. Johnston was also in another episode where he is not wearing a wig and says' A lemon squash, a scotch and soda".
Mr Johnston is played by Terence Conoley in this episode who also appeared as Mr Wareing (Gin and Orange etc) in the very first episode "A Touch of Class"

Bruce Boa who plays the American in his episode was part of a group that casting agents called Rent-A-Yank. But, he is actually Canadian. Bruch Boa was also in the 007 film Octopussy.
Bruce Boa also had a small part in Full Metal Jacket.

I mainly know the American (he's actually Canadian) from this and as a General in the Hoth base in The Empire Strikes Back

He was actually Canadian and sadly died in 2004.
