The time lapse was cool to watch. It shows how methodical Taylor is in his clearing.....hard to see in the real-time video but definitely see how efficient he is in the time-lapse. Thanks for sharing! And good luck with your projects!
Finally got a chance to watch this one... OH... MAH... GAH!!! I am absolutely stunned with what he accomplished so quickly, especially with that tiny excavator. Hard to explain just how excited I was watching him yank those clumps of waiwi out of the ground... I have new life goals. 😂
Mahalos to you! That helps so much! We’re in Costa Rica right now- and just found your channel.. but look forward to watching more vids before we move back to the BI! Mahalo!!
If you have the space it’s left and breaks down over time… takes awhile though lol. It can be hauled but that can get expensive another option is renting a chipper and making mulch but also can be some money… 🤙🏼
I really enjoyed your video! Can you tell approximately how much area was able to be cleared in the eight hours you paid for? Also, what part of Big Island is the property? Thanks and happy holidays!
In this video he spent four days clearing and the area was more than an acre approximately 100’x600’ but it wasn’t completely cleared. At that time Taylor charge $100/hr but that was over a year ago I think he charges $125/hr now. I live in Mountain View area. 🤙🏼
Great video, great learning experience. Just have some questions, 1. Do you need permit to do excavation? Later, do you need to have building permit for your garage? Any cost number for the excavation done as shown? Thanks you very much
Hey Robert, no permit needed to clear it’s called grubbing here basically removing the vegetation. As far a permitting for anything on the island it’s up to you. If you ever plan to sell permitting will make it easier. Selling properties with un-permitted structures can be difficult. As for my garage if it’s a stand alone structure under 680sqft I believe doesn’t have to be permitted. However I do want to add solar to the garage and if I want to tie into the grid it will all have to be permitted. Hope that answered your questions 😁🤙🏼
Hello, it was 8 hours price will vary I guess depending on where you are but contact Taylor he charges by the hour with a 4 hour minimum I spent under $900 for the day.
When the lots are laid out they drive metal pins into the corners of the lot. That was 20 or more years ago depending on where you live sometimes longer and they get overgrown. You can hire a survey guy/team to stake your property where they find the pins and put flags but that runs around $2000 last I checked... The properties here in Fern Acre for the most part are 100’ wide and 865’ long. They are called spaghetti lots lol 🤙🏼
Hi Marianna, there is no trash picking up not anything regulated anyways. There are a couple people that do pick up rubbish but most people take there own to the dump it transfer station. I’m not sure what they charge. 🤙🏼

I just watched the video and happened to see your comment. I think the contact info you’re looking for is at the end of the video around the 19:46 mark. Also in the description there’s a contact as well. This isn’t my video so take it as a helpful hint and not concrete fact but I think that’s the info you’re looking for. Hope this helps out and best of luck 🤙
Always worth a rewatch!

Facinating, I just bought land in Puna so this is my next step. I am excited to learn more! Who was your excavator? I am looking to get a quote!
Congrats, Taylor’s info is in the description of the video. 🤙🏼
Aloha, what becomes of the green waste that is piled up? Does it break down or is it hauled off? Mahalo

Wow !
Yes! A productive day. 😁
Nice one! You could use that guy to do some clearing on your other property...
Thanks! Eventually he could but initially I need something much bigger lol 👍🏼
The time lapse was fun to watch. What will you do with the piles created by stuff torn down?
Well for now they will sit but eventually they will get chipped or burned.
How much money was it to clear your property
Well this video was four years ago, I believe Taylor charge $125 an hour now so $1k a day. 🤙🏼
